Russia may not be your friend(as other Western nations) but the truth is that you need a super power to protect you if you are to progress without the other Western bringing war to you in the name of democracy.
For now, Western nations have maintained Africa in poverty and recklessly stolen from them. Russia has never done that. Russia saved south Africa during Appartide. At the very least, Russia is trusted

ECOWAS has not been of any significant benefit to these countries. ECOWAS must not be an enemy; an insignificat ally is no ally. How has ECOWAS been of help to Mali, Niger and Burkina Fasso in their time of need? What troops did ECOWAS send to help with terrorism in these countries? Now ECOWAS is dishing sanctions... They have weighed their options and belonging to ECOWAS is not one of them. We have to accept it!

It sad to see black talking heads who fail to understand the root causes of the crisis in the Sahel région, and instead point a finger at Russia. These countries decided independently.

This commentator based or living in the u.s. speaks the language of the state department..feance was bleeding these countries like a vampire for centuries and he is worried about Russia...he clearly demonstrates with his colonial mindset why Nigeria cannot prosper with this kind leaders...

Too sad how none of these people including the lady journalist not talking about France's exploitation that kept these nations in the fix they found themselves.
The prof is talking about imperialism but ignoring French imperialism .
It seems like all these people are fine with the way France is having this domineering hold on ECOWAS.

There is no security implications. I support those country's move out of ECOWAS union. They should form a new union that would detach West Africa from the bindage of colonial imperialists. We progressive Africans want to be free from the claws of imperiamism and neo-colonialism.
