  • The Commission is the executive branch of the European Union and Parliament plays a big part in selecting who sits on it.
    Comprised of 27 Commissioners - one from each EU member state - the Commission proposes legislation, which is then sent to Parliament and EU countries to be scrutinised, amended, negotiated and approved.
