a note for the newbies here, just remember NIN is the most mainstream of the Industrial type gene of music, if you keep going down the spiral you'll learn of so many more groups with all types of interesting sounds.
Will forever be grateful for the Ken Burns Vietnam documentary for having Trent Reznor score the soundtrack. Whenever some serious sh*t was about to go down he always used this song. Highly highly recommended.
I will always remember this song for it's use in the Vietnam War documentary, it perfectly matched the horrors we were seeing on the screen and it will always be what my mind associates this song with.
it has a suprisingly comfortable vibe to it, which really differentiates it from other NIN songs. Reznor's style has always been about causing discomfort and uncertainty with his music, but Ghosts IV - 34 has a way of embracing it's darkness in a calm way. Kind of reminds me of a state of anxiety when you accept the stress and go on with your usual activities.
Why is the NIN fanbase so wholesome? None of this "DESTROYING MY GENERATION" crap - when a song is sampled or appears in another piece of media, the fanbase just says "I know right? Here's some more great stuff. Enjoy!"
How the hell does an industrial rock artist end up influencing 2 of the biggest country music hits ever made? Hurt and Old Town Road?
Trent: hold my beer while i make the most important country riff of all time..........
trent on his way to accidentally make ANOTHER classic country hit
Imagine Reznor waking up one day and seeing his bank account quadruple due to someone sampling an old song he wrote years ago.
"HEAD LIKE A HORSE..."
Tried to save my horse but my horse kept slipping away
When your horse dies and then comes back as a ghost
I can’t hate on lil Nas because thanks to him I discovered this masterpiece.
If they get a proper music vid done for the 'Old Town Road' song, I hope they manage to have Trent in the background somewhere for completeness.
Haven't scrolled down yet but I'm guessing every comment is about lil Nas X
I got the horses in the back 😤
Friends:
I got the ghosts in the back.
