Sorry for your loss @OfentseMwaseFilms, I lost my aunt to colon cancer in 2018 so now my mom gets regular checks as her odds are greater with a family history of it. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2008 but luckily been in remission since 2010 after 2 years of chemo. Cancer fuckin sucks a big one.

So say we all. Anyone who needs to do it but hasn’t, do it. The hardest part for me was the I.v. I’m afraid of needles. It’s totally worth it though. It got my brother. Those that love you will be very happy you did it.
This is hysterical. I am on my day before clear liquid diet and begin the great cleanse tonight. Tomorrow I am scheduled for my colonoscopy at 10am. This brought a smile to my face.

My father recently almost succumbed to stage 2 colon cancer, due to not going ahead and getting these screenings done. This was due to pride, shame and, for the most part, being afraid of medical procedures. Love this initiative, thanks for sharing Ryan. I know when I need to get this done, I won't be held back by the same things that hold back so many men not attending to their personal health, I encourage other men to take that stance as well - your families, children and those who care for you deserve better.

My father had colon cancer; as such I was instructed that due to high risk I should be checked at 30. At 30 I went to that same doctor who told me my insurance would not cover the examination. My grandpa passed when I was 2 from colon cancer, was approaching my 30s, getting healthy, decided i wanted a full checkup to make sure everything was good, including a colonoscopy due to it running in the family, SURE ENOUGH, precancerous adenoma removed. Doing this might have literally just added DECADES to my life. I ALWAYS tell people to just get one done now, I know its recommended around 45ish, but I've seen it recommended as low as 24 before, and let me say,I'm DAMN glad i didn't wait till 45, i might not of even made it. Its a week of an awkward diet, then you go in and its done in 30 mins. Doing this could LITERALLY add decades to your life, just do it. I used to think Idiocracy was a comedy but over the last decade I've come to think of it as a documentary that was made in the future and sent back in time as a warning of what's to come if we don't pull together as WE THE PEOPLE and slap both sides of the political tree around. DO BETTER!
