      Rick, so sorry for your friend Rob. Lovely tribute you made for him. I absolutely adore the song you shared "My Weary Eyes." I can't believe I haven't hear it til the other day. I came across this video Oct 7th while processing the grief and tragedy of my cousin Debbie murdered 2 yrs to the day -her assailant was pronounced GUILTY. That's justice. But it won't bring her back. Yet I came across this video and somehow in the moment, the song captured the sadness loss and passing beauty that life is. What more can be said.... Well, as a guitar player I wish the chords/tablature for the song were somewhere as I'd love to learn to play. If it exists please share, It would mean a lot. Regardless of whether you read this. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the greatness.

    Rick can teach music theory, he can geek out air-guitar style, he can really tell a story. But best of all, he conjurs up that world of lost bands, real human musicians and the live-scene music listening public that's still around. The love of God is greater far
      Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
      It goes beyond the highest star
      And reaches to the lowest hell.
      The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
      God gave His Son to win;
      His erring child He reconciled
      And pardoned from his sin.
      O love of God, how rich and pure!
      How measureless and strong!
      It shall forevermore endure-
      The saints’ and angels’ song.
      When hoary time shall pass away,
      And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
      When men who here refuse to pray,
      On rocks and hills and mountains call;
      God’s love, so sure, shall still endure,
      All measureless and strong;
      Redeeming grace to Adam’s race-
      The saints’ and angels’ song.
      Could we with ink the ocean fill,
      And were the skies of parchment made;
      Were every stalk on earth a quill,
      And every man a scribe by trade;
      To write the love of God above
      Would drain the ocean dry;
      Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
      Though stretched from sky to sky.

He was the guy who lit up the room when he walked in and for a few years, I shared in that glow when we made our arrival together and the friends inside were so happy to see us. He and I never lost touch and were in contact all the way up to his passing. He died suddenly of an unexpected heart attack. He never knew he was sick and neither did the rest of us. He lived every day like it was going to be his last and the impression he left on the music scene in Central PA. and our hearts and minds is indelible. That song was lovely and it called my mind to my dear friend Chad Salvaggio. The best drummer I ever knew. Peace Chad. It just makes you realise how many good musicians slipped through the cracks without getting much recognition. My brother sang and played guitar in bands from the mid 70's and half of the 80's. Always on the cusp of a record deal but not quite cracking it.He was burnt out around 1985 with a wife and kid did the regular job thing until about 1997 when he got the music bug back again and after practicing a few years went solo with his acoustic as well as playing in a few cover bands and played the pubs and clubs from 2000 to about 2018 singing in blues rock bands around Melbourne Australia. By about 2014 he was in pretty high demand playing 5 nights a week only to have i all fall apart when he developed cancer in late 2018 and sadly passed away April 4 2019. He finally saw his dream by producing his own cd in 2018 but sadly never got to promote it fully and like I said, slipped through the cracks and so many people never got to see his talent. One of the reasons I follow all your videos is that I'm also a middle aged guy who still loves to write, play and listen to music. We enjoyed the food and Rob's enthusiasm for both the BBQ and his customers so much that we had him cater our wedding rehearsal dinner back in 2000. When I was younger, I thought the idea of being strong was showing no emotions when life events happened. When I lost a relative or friend, I would "stay strong" and keep it inside and myself in check for the benefit of those around me. As I have matured into my 50's I have realized my mistakes (many of them) - and that being strong is allowing all emotions to come out where ever you are. I was a young when all this was going on in Atlanta but I remember when one of Rob's friends, or maybe his brother I forget, brought the then-unreleased Umajets record (Demolotion) over to my house. He called Rob from my living room and said, "Umajets? Like Uma Thurman?". And perhaps because of the kooky name I started listening. And I never stopped. That record and "Swollen and Tender" got me through highschool. I wore those records out. They're spectacular. Just spectacular.
