Allegedly, the bike will do north of 100mph without any shake, although were you to give some unneeded and purposeful input, you can induce some head shake and yaw that is not recommended. Otherwise at that speed, it is allegedly very stable.
To each their own - I’m glad it’s not there. Not a fan of non functional cosmetic items. Of course that is the state of ‘retro’ motorcycles these days, so it’s not possible to get away from it entirely, but a faux gas cap is not my cup of tea.

I like the studs the stock seat gives the bike style and is so comfortable. The Heritage is the first Harley I've bought with a decent seat from stock. What's unforgivable is that horrible back light and licence plate mount Harley use, they know better the Street Bob has a much better back light which presumably complies with everyone's regulations.

On the new sportsters, and softails the vibration is almost nonexistent, only the touring up have unbalanced engines

I think it’s one of those marketing generational decisions, but I agree. Or at least offer it as an option.
I used to feel that way but it gives the thing character. At least you get a good seat. Standards look cool but that seat is beyond stupid
