    I had the Varedero after doing my CBT. I picked it because it was the biggest 125 I could find and I wanted something with fairly wide tyres due to my 35 mile (each way) commute to work on little country lanes. Agree that it is a very comfortable bike and I never had any issues with it at all. I miss it actually! Great review mate

    I've had this bike for 2 years and I'm 6ft6 with 36 inch inseam...very comfortable bike and I honestly don't know if I want to swap it out for a more powerful bike! For a London commute, it's got plenty of pull and It carries my fat arse with ease at 65/70mph...This bike fits me like a glove and is the definition of reliability!

      I'm just about to sit my CBT and I was nervous as I am 6ft5 and concerned as to whether i would find a 125 that i could fit my big ass on. Do you reckon this is the way to go for 125's?

    Absolutely great review. I sat on one of these today at my local motorcycle shop and it's bloody massive. It was parked next to a 2011 yamaha YBR 125 and a suzuki GSXR750 SRAD. This bike was bigger than both of them. If your wondering I am 5 foot 4 and I could get 1 foot flat on floor and 2 feet on tip toes but stable. Ride safe all.

      +Two Wheel Review Cool. I thought it was best to say as I'm a "smaller" rider being 5 foot 5. It will give riders like me a perspective. There are also lowering kits for it but to be honest if your 5 foot 5 or over, you will not need them.

So, i read as much reviews as possible, watch as many reviews and test rides i can trying to make up My Mind as to what Kind of bike i want. I know that i don't want something with multiple RR's in the name or a huge displacment bike.. I really like small to mid size displacment bikes, Dualsport bikes, Adventurebikes or naked bikes. As soon as i get My license i'll start test riding.

  • @BiglumpADV
    @BiglumpADV Před 8 lety

    Carb model returns better mpg if you're careful with it, the tyres are crap but early bikes had Pirelli MT90's as an option, I have them on mine and they're a great dual purpose tyre. I've ridden mine around France and I'm going again next year. Tall screen/hand guards/brembo brake pads are worthwhile add-ons 👍🏻

      Thank you very much :)
      I've taken the varadero greenlaning a few times, the tyres perform surprisingly well however the bikes weight works against it making it not the most nimble machine on the dirt, I did find standing on the pegs made a lot of difference however wouldn't suggest doing anything too extreme.

    Hi Harvey from Sunny Spain:), loved the review along with all the other vids you´ve done..., great viewing. Is Africa still on the cards, if so what do you think you´ll be riding?
    I know what you mean about the hazardous winds here( You mentioned on your journey back from Gib), I´ve have nearly come a cropper on a few occasions on the N332 between Murcia and Alicante on my baby Vara.
    Have not long fitted a center stand, a must (good shout) if you are doing your own maintenance. Mine´s a carb 05 model, love it, Ok it´s not going to really excite, compared to other more modern 125´s performance but will go on and on (Huge tank, great build quality to boot) and great for tall riders
    Popped on a belly cowl which saves a lot of crud being baked onto the exhaust and presently trying out an oil temp gauge. Isn´t the fuel cap a pain (As in.. where do you put it when you fill up)? Rant over.
    Keep up the good work, your footage is great entertainment

    So, If I'm currently in process of getting full A licence, and would be getting my first bike for rural areas driving, rural city and some good green lanes, would it be silly to go for varadero 125? I just want my first bike to not overwork itself in speeds up to 80km/h (50mph) so I dont go like 10k rpm at those speeds, and that its good on fuel, with softer suspension. Should I even be looking at XL125, or just go for YBR250 for about same price? I also want my bike to be fuel injected.

    • @TwoWheelReview
      @TwoWheelReview  Před 8 lety +1

      +Break Man
      The Varadero comfortably cruises at 60mph at around 8k rpm i took the bike around Europe cursing at 65mph for hours, dead reliable engine!
      Greenlaning wise the varadero is very heavy for a 125 which makes it difficult when stuck in deep ruts! However with fuel injection 70-80mpg is easily achieved!
      Really a matter of what you like :)

      Hey Amber!
      The seat is very comfy so not a problem there, as far as seat height hard to say really I'm 5'8 and can get 2 feet flat so you should be able to get at least one foot tip toed :) Best to have a sit on one and decide between the two..
      That being said the varadero is heavier than the cbr which you may find a little harder to get used to if you've just completed a CBT :)

      I'm 60 and 5'11" and I've just bought one for fun local riding. It's a brilliant little bike. I've got 11 bikes in all, the Varadero wins on comfort, safe riding feel, handling, and convenience.
      The closest bigger bike to the Varadero is the BMW F650. I may have to get one of those next.

      With regular maintenance and servicing. Easily outlast the bike. There's one that's had its second engine rebuild that's currently clock 299,000 miles on the forum

    is it good for food delivery?

    • @kinglouis6974
      @kinglouis6974 Před 4 měsíci

      Well it’s like most 125’s
      On fuel I should imagine
      I deliver food on a 110 Honda vison
      Moped’s are a lot better for jumping on and off ….
      The only benefit to this bike I should imagine is that you can
      Put bigger barrel on it
      And being a Honda it should be okay with it
      I should imagine you could easily go up by 25-30 cc
      On each bank
      So you’d go from a 125 too a 175
      It don’t sound a lot but I bet it would be just the job
      It’s a Honda so is a good bike
      And that would be fine
      It would go from 70 mph
      Flat out to being able to site at 70 mph
      Because of the extra cc
      You could go one tooth up on the front sprocket ⚙️
      Obviously the only reason to do this is if you 17 and can’t have anything bigger

    60k miles unheard of for 600cc let alone 125?????? riiiiiight.... thats simply not true thought is it... 60k miles is nothing on a bike engine, just a quick look on ebay will show 60k+ hell it'll show many many with 150k plus, some with 250k plus and a look on google shows 500k+ on bikes. Don't make things up.
