Music lovers, musicians playing music for music's sake. No costumes, no light show, no self-indulgence. A real gem.
yup
better believe it
An honest band in a dishonest time. Perfect!
They are incredible live!!!
Well said man. Goose bumps watching these fantastic musicians
I hope for their safety being from Ukraine and all.
My wife died at the sweet young age of 30. Today she would be 61.
Technology is amazing and all these years later this music still brings back so many wonderful memories. . . my wife and I were both teenagers when this song came out. Hang on to every moment in life. Soon they will be gone as we will be too. God bless everyone.
glad to see that music brings you pleasure after experiencing such a tragic event.
Hang in there, my good friend
May the lord continue to bring you peace if you ask him!!😊
So sorry for your loss
Prayers for you 💘
I can’t help it…I just keep coming back. You are all masters of your art. Congratulations and THANK YOU!
I keep coming back too
Holy Moly... if you close your eyes, you'd swear it was Chicago in concert. What an excellent job you all did. Absolutely outstanding.
Omg❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Chicago could never play like this in concert.
@@billb410 Maybe even two Chicago together couldn’t
For now, L&F is the greatest band on the Earth!
And forever.
The next great soul band!
Maybe the best cover band covering Chicago, one of the Greatest Bands Ever! Don't forget, It's always much easier to cover than it is to create because the music score is already there for you and all you have to do is put together a great group of musicians and copy it. I applaud Leonid and Friends for doing that so brilliantly!
My favorites. :)
I thought I would stop at the goosebumps but then the tears started to swell up.... I mean Please, DO NOT STOP recording Chicago songs. As a man in his 50's and almost a lifelong Chicago fan, from the city of Chicago and knowing almost all of Chicago's entire library, you folks are better than you can ever imagine....... bravo to you!
71st & Hermitage. You and I are one. They're GOOD! Saw TERRY KATH twice with Chicago in concert.
I admit. It was so well done, my eyes were tearing up too.
Chicago has been one of my #1 since I was 9, When my folks moved us to Florida from Chicago I had this AM radio that at some time at night I could Dial in WLS an d WCFL.
Couldn't get enough Motown and Pop tunes.
Funny how I remember that at 62 years old..
My dad was a machinist worked with Pete Cetera's dad also a Machinist.
The founding Members Of Styx lived a block away from my house in Roseland.
As young kids we would sit by the basement window at night and listen to them practice..
Never thought they would become anything as we had a lot of basement and garage bands in our neighborhood in 68 and 69.
Roseland was a great town to grow up in during the 60's.
Today?☢
Best comment for me thankyou
Saw them two weeks ago here in Corpus Christi Texas...always memorized by them
I never comment on videos, but these guys give me goosebumps. They take me back to 1975, listening to Chicago records with my dad. Priceless.
Can you imagine if they toured doing all the artists they've replicated?!? I wonder if they could BOSTON!😮😮😮

Close your eyes while you're listening to this song and you'd think it was Peter Cetera singing lead. The musicians in this band are beyond amazing and nail that Chicago sound to perfection.
I just saw Chicago, September 27th at 2023. In Knoxville, the new lead singer is "the voice", Neal Donell..better than Peter!
@GetSwitchedOnKnoxville their current tenor Neil Donnell is the closest to Peter of the replacements, bit nothing matches Cetera from 67 to 85. This is the beat cover I've ever heard of the 70s Chicago
not better than Peter @@ChipEichelberger
you got a shit ton of well-deserved likes!
@@ChipEichelberger
Replacing Peter Cetera's vocals in this song is a very tough thing to do but Serge Tiagnyriadno's vocals are killer! Great job by the entire crew! Kudos to everyone involved!
Serge sounds JUST LIKE Peter! It's incredible!
I agree.. this was perhaps the biggest surprise to me. reproducing the instrumentals is one thing, but they really nailed it with the voice.
100%
And considering their native language is Russian, to sound just like the original is even more incredible.
@@terryy6938 - I think Serge is Ukraine. At the time of this recording I think he was in Kyiv (Kiev) while most of the group was in Russia. Just a guess.
Keep in mind this is more than "just another tribute band." The lineup features some of the best musicians to come out of Russia and the former Soviet Republics. Each one, all of them, are classically trained. This is no garage band featuring the kid down the street. This is the result of 30-years of artistical freedom and expression in a country that repressed it for decades. This is the result of that freedom. They just kill it. Every single song. Every single cover is absolutely spot on. What a band!
Bill BIrd, I am in my mid 60's and played keyboards and percussion thru high school. Marching band, jazz band etc... Chicago was my Idol and I had transcribed there music at an early age so a group of us could get together and play Chicago music. This is a dream come true. ONLY REAL musicians with REAL talent and a REAL knowledge of music could do this. I have told everyone I know about this group. I have been listening since the FIRST DAY it showed up on CZcams. I once saw Chicago play in 1975 in Springfield Illinois and it was HORRIFYING. First concert I had every been to and a terrible memory. They BUTCHERED there music. Ever since then I ONLY listened to there studio albums. You are SPOT ON. Just SPOT ON.
@@pedrojulio5889 I know a little bit about music. Was in marching band but just as color guard. My instrument was my voice. Sang in choir, glee club etc. Never did anything big. Probably could have with more support. I'm 55 and grew up listening to Chicago. Always loved them but never heard they sucked live. But it makes a lot of sense. Takes good band rapport to pull this off. You can see they have it with the knowing smiles at each other, sideways glances. They know they are nailing it. So glad I found this channel.
@@kittykixbootie I thought about what I said and HOPE no one took it as a negative comment. Phil Collins concerts are ALWAYS done to perfection and others, but this is with a LOT of money and effort JUST for this reason. I am sure Chicago has done MANY or maybe even MOST concerts with perfection, but the one I heard was nothing short of HORRIFYING and at a younger age I was completely confused. The sound was terrible, they played most songs at high speed, and the singing was SO OFF KEY. It was probably just a bad gig for them?? Or maybe the provisions of the Illinois State fair was inadequate. But to say the least I only saw one more band, Boston in 1975 but IT was SO LOUD I had to leave. SOOOOO I stuck to studio Albums. There are SO many added harmonies or background sounds that can be achieved in the studio. I note that some bands live figured out ways around this. Toto ALWAYS sounds great even with the MANY different lineups they have had thru the years. Just thought of one more band. STIX from Chicago had JUST STARTED playing and they played in 1971?? in a little theatre in Canton Illinois. They were quite talented but I think it could have been interpreted as a earthquake it was SOOOOO LOUD!!! I think I had to leave that one also.
@@pedrojulio5889 you aren't wrong at all. Phil Collins was the first concert I went to and it was amazing. I have always been an avid concert goer and I can tell you off the top of my head who the pros are. Hall and Oates, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Sarah Maclachlan, Crosby, Stills and Nash. I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting. But there are some bands that just can't get it together live.
I went and listened to Chicago singing this song live after this and boy was it awful. I'm thinking that bands like this are the impetus behind CZcams removing comments from the catalog music on the platform because comments were disabled. If I'm able to, I will go back and share the video I'm talking about. The music industry would very much rather the public stay blissfully ignorant though.
Here it is czcams.com/video/eJTXb_yqpfc/video.html
Keep showing the world how its done. Russians and Ukrainians singing American music in English. I live it. God bless you all
I love the age ranges too!!!
After having heard every song they've uploaded to CZcams, I consider this their signature performance. They are simply astoundingly good musicians and singers. I'm so glad they showed up in my feed.
I think After the Love Has Gone is their Apex, but this is a close second.
@@GeneCarter-cw7nd Another great performance! I can see why you'd choose "After the Love is Gone." I guess we'll have to call both songs #1.000 and #1.001.

I am partial to 25 or 6 to 4. The guitarist nails it like Terry Kath, but they're all fantastic. Even the Carpenters song they do
Instrumentally, vocally and the perfection of every recorded note. Leonid, the ability you have to engineer all this is nothing short of miraculous! The best concert I ever saw in my life was Chicago with Terry Kath in 1977 at The Capital Center in Largo, MD/Suburban DC. That year I saw Muddy Waters, Beatlemania, The Stones, Springsteen. Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Foreigner, Peter Frampton. Bachmann-Turner Overdrive. Crosby, Stills & Nash, Dan Fogelberg, The Eagles, even The Osmonds were great live. There will never be live shows like that again.
Oh yes the Capital center, saw many a concert there.
Can't count how many times I have returned to this performance. Outstanding! Great way to start a day.
I use it to start the end of my day. Crack open a beer, get into it. These people are always welcome in my head.
When he sang this at Milwaukee last year in Oct. I almost cried I was so moved.
Stop the war concert ,Leonid and Friends. Let us inform the planet know what we want. So much talent in one room, so much power for good. ❤
The only "cover" band in history that reinterprets, improves upon and outperforms the original every single time! WOW!
@Carlton Cotter I couldn't have said it better myself it is better than the
Original 👍👌😊
Let us not all forget that old, great music is still being covered today. For instance, there are a tremendous amount of people that will pay big amounts of cold, hard cash to sit in an auditorium to hear songs that were created many hundreds of years ago, such as Bach and the like. Good music is good music, no matter the time, era, or if it's a cover or not -- period.
I don't know about that - I mean it's the same arrangement, soundscape, mix and balance throughout, and I don't know what about it is actually better (listen to them back to back - are they more in tune for example?) but the joy is in being able to continue to enjoy this music played expertly by musicians of similar calibre to the original bands.
Not true. But it’s a really good cover.
If you wish to compare, do so with both bands in their (original) studio recordings. No doubt, Leonid & Friends are great and they worked hard at it to come closer to the original than any other tribute band, but there is no replacing an original, especially Terry Kath and Peter Cetera.
After I fell out of my chair jamming, I got up and clicked the thumbs-up...... You guys are spectacular. THANK YOU FOR THE SONG!!!!

Hello Dave!!
Have to disagree. Yes, they are younger, fresher, and bring that edge to the sound. However, heard the original band with Earth Wind and Fire live, and for guys in their 70's still bring it. I was amazed at the encore, after a 3 hour gig still brought the heat on '24 Or 6 To 4, with EW&F did a 15 minute version, Longnare and Pankow were still bringin' it.

These people are Musicians, playing real instruments and singing just through a mic, and not a computer. And even though its a cover, they are singing and playing there guts out. Its beautiful I wish I could see this band live. Keep up the Great work.
They do put on a good live show, I saw them last year at a beautiful outdoor venue in Decatur, Illinois
Serge was really inspired on this one, he sounded great!!
Exactly ... he hit it out of the park.
👍 agree
Beautiful and beyond amazing
The girl singing background is an angel descended from heaven, absolutely gorgeous, and has a hell of a voice! Im in love!
Yes, and so tasteful. Class.
She is Ksenia Buzina and yes she is an angel. Check out her solo work on YT she is an incredible artist in her own right
@@PeteHathaway Thx
you are not the only one!!!!!
The original song is really beautiful , and this song make's it even more beautiful , how every musian and vocals were all prescise , not a single beat was missed. When the song was over I gave them a standing ovation.❤
THE HARD PART OF WATCHING IS....STOPPING MYSELF FROM PLAYING IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. JUST AWESTRUCK. I am 60 years old and have all the albums, grew up with Chicago. You guys are heaven sent!
The harmony between Serge and Ksenia's vocals on this song is almost beyond words - stunning, amazing, incredible, and then Sergey's backing vocals as well - WOW!
They literally sound just like the record. Such a good performance.
What makes it more amazing for me is that, if I'm not mistaken, Serge is in isolation in Kiev and the rest of the group is in Moscow. That is some top level artistry right there to make it sound so seamless.
AMAZING !!
Yes! It’s perfect. 10/10.
For one of the first time in my life I'm speechless, Chicago is my favorite band and I've never seen anything like this, awesome
My favorite Chicago tune from the very first time I heard the very first note. Righteous work from everyone in the band. Ukraine forever.
Dear Russian friends .... WOW!!!!!!! I know the word "wow" is over-used a bit nowadays, but it truly applies here. The musicianship, attention to detail, and talent here is breath-taking and amazing! Dare I say this is better than the original? Almost beyond words FANTASTIC once again Leonid and Friends. You hit a grand slam home run once again. I had been requesting this song, so THANKS from USA for finally doing it. You are awesome!!!!!!! America loves you!!!!!!!
I was wondering when you were going to call the orchestra together to lay down this track. Serge at his best!
Serge really hit it out of the park on this one! Outstanding!
Serge from his studio in Kiev, and still nailing it like he was there.
@@jpisello he hit a grand slam home run
By luck I happened to run across this while surfing through CZcams videos. Struck gold. One of my absolute favorite songs from my favorite band when I was growing up. Beautiful arrangement, vocals and feel. In terms of a cover for this particular song, I can't imagine one of higher quality. Thank you.
Unbelievable! The precision, the passion! I love watching goddess Ksenia Buzina sing through her beautiful smile. Prayers for Serge and family, friends during Ukraine’s peril. 🙏🏼🇺🇦
This song has been out for a month and still 5 times a day isn't enough.
I agree. Good stuff!
I agree, I can can't help myself.... 😊☮️♥️🎤
It applies to my life right now and I can't keep my eyes off of them as well as my ears. They have love in their eyes and I feel their Joy. I'm so grateful for this group of people. 💜 Carly
I agree. I watch this video at least once a day. I love the arrangement and playing. So dang good.
I am addicted to this omg
Amazing
There has to be Some kind of "AWARDS" for you guys ! Excellent sound. "YOU GOT A FAN IN ME "
I found your group accidentally as a Chicago fan, I am totally mesmerized by your perfection and talent. We are traveling across the country just to see you live. You are awesome 😀
Just love how everyones face is smiling LOVE U GUYS 1st time hearing you!!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!!
If I go to heaven when I die, this is what the angels will sound like. Pure awesomeness.
Serge, absolutely crushing it in a foreign language. Amazing. If Serge starts covering Boston songs, look out.
Oh gosh, I'm not ready!!! That would be amazing!
😎 Bring it on 🎼🎸🎶
72 year old singer/bass player. Again I say you Guys are so damn good. Thank you
I've been following Chicago since High School. You honor them with a studio recording sound that rivals the original! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Cant wait to see you in Montclair California this fall.
That drummer is an animal, he’s extremely clean with all of his rolls. He’s the kind of drummer that Fagen & Becker would have used, I’m sure.
Yeah and he has that great seventies tone. Dampened down and dry and in your face. It sits in the mix nicely.
Kind of a lot like DANNY SERAPHINE! Hmmm? :)
Speaking of which . . . How about some steely dan?
@@johndraper3608 LOVE me some Dan!
Shooter McGavin Kid Charlamaine
Excellent musicianship combined with outstanding artistry, and showmanship. Please keep up the good work!
Wow. So much talent in that room. Stunning.
Searching is over, this group is off the charts incredibly good. Bravo!
This performance is emotionally overwhelming. The strings, the horns, and especially the singing -- Every part of this rendition is perfect! I love this version even more than Chicago's original.
I know! Didn't think that was possible! Chicago has been one of my favorite bands for ever!
no not better...just different...Original Chicago has more emotion,,,both versions are great but nothing will ever beat the original song yb original band with origianl emotion...just one raving Chicago fan's opinion
I never thought I would ever think the same. If someone had said that before I saw this I probably want to punch them.
Yes, emotionally overwhelming is a perfect way to describe. I can't stop listening to it.
Lump in the throat stuff..I listen to this often...my go to song
HOLY SMOKES, that was AMAZING! I got chills just in the first 15 seconds of the song, I could tell this was going to be a great version of the song. So true to the original, but with the clarity and perfect mix that can only be achieved now in the digital era. You guys pulled off an amazing accomplishment with this song. I think it just may be your best yet. If you ever come to perform on the west coast of the United States, I'm going to make a point of flying to whatever city you're in and enjoying seeing you do this in person. But even if that never happens, you brought four and a half minutes of joy to my life today by being able to see you do this flawless performance in the studio. Thank you!
Imagine my surprise when I checked your upcoming tour dates and found that you'll be performing in Sacramento, California, four months from now. I wonder if that will end up getting cancelled due to Covid-19. I hope not! I see that decent seats are still available, too. Wow. My world has really been rocked this morning!
I saw L&F perform on stage in Seattle in November 2019. It was outstanding!!
Simply terrific!
@@gregsalo950 did you notice the drummer is wearing a Seattle Mariners cap in this video? Chances are very good he picked that up during their visit to the PNW.
@@JimZim L&F has put out a revised schedule due to COVID. Check their website. You'll probably have to wait until early Dec '21.
We have rare talented people who have a natural born gift. Many paint, many put on film, many sing and play music. Thanks to them all life is much better.
Every instrument played to perfection.
Excellent in every way ❤🔥🔥🔥
And the hits just keep on coming...
A little bit of Tom Cruise... Movie: A Few Good Men... Perfect comment.
Someone line this group up for the Super Bowl halftime show please!! Amazing talent
Totally agree !
Too classy for that venue.
NFL is WOKE.... no way this perfection should ever touch these classless woke venues
That would be a nice change of pace, but the NFL would not understand as this great music from the past does not fit their agenda to appealing to younger crowds. Their Loss.
I agree, but knowing they're from the Baltic states, the WOKE NFL would swear Trump owns them!
SERGE !!!! PRAYING FOR YOUR SAFTY WHAT A BEAUTIFUL KIND SOUL WITH A VOICE THAT MAKES GROWN MEN CRY
Sounds exactly like Chicago in the 70's. So much better than the Chicago band of today, Spot on!
