The entire reason I love Transcendence is because of that message of breaking free and rising above what is projected onto you. Too many people nowadays tend to try to fit into stereotypes, or let people put them into stereotypes, but when you express yourself for who you are you always will become better than by sticking to stereotypes. I know for a fact this is true, especially because I was proclaimed a 'nerd'. But, as my natural reaction is to push the boundaries of stereotypes and attempt to break them, I was able to show I'm not just a nerd, but a superb swordfigher, athlete, artist, writer, and gamer.
Lesson to be learned: NEVER stick to stereotypes. They don't express your true self.

When I first head Transendence I could feel the soul you put into the song, and when I first saw the video, I just knew that this was your take on being outside the box and being an individual. This video took the words right out of my mouth. Lindsey, you're and inspiration.
The more your self love increases, the more your self expression increases. Loving your self 100% is the secret. You have to let go of society's expectations to reach your full potential. You nailed it Lindsey.

I love 'Transcendence' because it actually helped me in life. And now that I have heard the explanation behind the music I fully understand it now. Now I love Lindsey even more!
As a student filmmaker I can't help but admire this in more ways than I can count. The music is fantastic, the performance is beautiful, and the execution is wonderful. The concept itself is... transcendent, if I may.

I love this message so much! In fifth grade... People all think I was really shy, because that's would be the only category I could fit, in sixth grade I broke free and expressed! I love you Lindsey, your work is so powerful and meaningful to me!

I get a huge vibe from Plato's Allegory of the Cave from this video regarding reality and the understanding of the world that we live in. We put meaning to images that are projected on a wall and play as actors to something instead of seeking the origin and importance of self realization. The Allegory of the Cave is well worth reading.

Glad you're implementing Lindsey's music into education!
A lot of people should be directed to this behind the scenes video. Too many people assumed it was about males being controlling over females, when it's merely a metaphor for people subjecting themselves to such forms of control; that goes for everyone, male or female. I'm glad you created the behind the scenes look. :) It answers a lot of questions.
After watching the actual video, I kind of figured this was the message you were going for with the video. It's one that definitely needs to be heard more often. And don't worry, Lindsey. We all still love you even though you went to BYU.

Watching all your videos, I'm so blown away, every now and then nature decides to create someone, not just good looking, not just smart, not just able to be themselves, but someone that is a prodigy, that "transcends" (pun intended) the level of great, Amadeus had "quirks" also, Lindsey, today is my Wedding Anniversary to my wife, and watching your videos and the fun you have making them, that's written all over your face, has reminded me of why I married my wife, thank you, for being you.....
Love, love this video. I used Transcendence to introduce the concept of allegory to my grade nine humanities class this morning. The video generated some good debate; the class really got into analyzing the deeper meaning of the story and eventually arrived at a consensus regarding the message. It's a message that's critically important for them to hear, too! Thank you so much for creating art that is meaningful and accessible like this!
