Didn’t see this until now but how prophetic except the one guy you didn’t mention was a highschooler (Christian Miller) who placed fifth just behind Christian Coleman. Of course equally as shocking was Quincy Wilson in the 400 m having the fifth fastest time in the semi finals and setting a new under 18 world record. Like you said, there’s always one or two young ones who are better than we expect.

Don't forget Terrence Jones. He choked at the big 12 finals but he is fast. He was running just as fast as his teammate Courtney lindsay last year and was super fast in the indoor season this year.
Nevermind I just realized he's from the bahamas. With that information I expect to see him at the Olympics

I seriously doubt that’s true, but even just in the male sprints you had Miller placing fifth in the 100 (making the 4 x 100 relay), and Quincy Wilson getting the fifth fastest time in the 400m at 16 years old. he is definitely going to make the team, the question is will he only be in the relay or will he be able to place in the top three?

Three athletes at the "A" standard. "A" standard isn't hard for the U.S. Then there will be four 4x100m relay guys and two alternates. USA likes to sometimes drop a 200m star into that curved 3rd leg and it could be anyone if they are great out of the blocks.

Are you a 400 800 runner? 40 miles a week is not particularly beneficial for the 400 but would make a real difference in the 800 if you can run between 7 and 7 30 training pace on each. If the goal is the 400 your weeks should consist of light acceleration work “under 30 meters” so as not to burn out your body before you get to true top speed work. And foundational workouts of 70 to 75 percent speed work of 600s, 500s, 400s, and 300s. Of course the exact workouts will vary greatly combined with appropriate rest. If you would like more information on how you can train effectively you should reach out to me directly at www.scarecruiting.com
Keep putting in the hard work, it will pay off!

I've been eating off your plate for free your last several videos. I like your approach. Your subject matter and your angle is unique from all the rest of the tubers doing track n field. You Earned my subscription. I hold two 100 sprint records at grade school level in our small communities Little Olympics. We only competed against other children in the same grade, so it kept everything fair. From 1st grade until 6th grade I realized that the high jump event that I won a 1st place blue ribbon one year and the following, I didn't even place in the top 3. So having experimented with I think was also football throw and not placing well, I became a grade school sprint specialist running the 50,75, 100 and 4x100. I never got a red 2nd place ribbon ever in any sprint I competed in. They were all blue winners every year other than that one high jump and football throw. What was aggravating though when having more than one 4x100 relay team from our town. Instead of creating the fastest squad possible. They took the fastest sprinter myself and put me in the slowest 4x100 squad. There's only so much you can do to make up for a slower squad. A couple years I made up enough we won a Blue ribbon but usually it was too much distance to make up for. So it was a red or white ribbon if one at all. I was a quiet reserved kid but I spoke my mind every year on that BS let me say. In regards to transparency in over 100 years of that meet there was one name on the record board that had the meet record in every sprint in every grade 1-6 and he was said to be a junior high sensation phenomenon and even was considered a hometown hopeful possibility for the Olympics some day. You don't own 16 sprint records covering 100+ years of history at a particular track meet and not have talent. Several coaches, teachers, and track officials said that boy who I have to apologize to for forgetting his name, was indeed a very rare, gifted, and talented sprinter. One who had potential to possibly do great things in the sport. When he was in junior highschool he accidentally shot himself with his dad's pistol playing with it and he unfortunately died from the injury. His father was grief stricken with guilt and sorrow. He hung himself in suicide not being able to cope with his son's death. 😢
In the light of transparency once again there were no rules regarding being wind aided in the 1970s at our meet. This track was manicured but it was indeed a dirt track. I used 3/4" spikes on my track shoes. The record I set was in the 4th grade 100. I can still remember how hard the wind was blowing that day! It was fierce and to our backs! I was running so fast when I crossed the finish line it was like the same affect as running down a hill and your body moving faster than you can actually run! I barely recovered at the tape to not stumble and fall. Any foot misplacement with those long spikes could also trip you up! The guy running the stop watch was more excited about my record shattering sprint than I was. I knew mother nature deserved much of the credit. So fast forward 40 years and I take my son to the gym that has a long massive glass display of trophies and championship plaques of eras gone by. I can remember as a child looking at the gold life-size basketball trophies in amazement back in the 1970s. But the Little Olympics records board was in the main gymnasium where the basketball games were played. If you went upstairs to the balcony seats the records board was hanging just off to the side and much easier to read. But this time it wasn't where it was supposed to be. Wondering where the 100+ years of track n field historical records are at? I took my son there to show him my records to inspire him. Because the schools are doing strange things to our kids these days. We couldn't find it so we went to the main office to speak with the school secretary and to my disgust they not only took down the record board, nobody seemed to know where it even was!! One lady in the office unlocked some doors back in the gymnasium building to a couple of equipment storage rooms but we couldnt find anything.. I was hoping to at least remove my record slots and take them home or maybe hang the board up at the town's newly built community center. Why did they take it down and discard it? One of the teachers said it had some water stains on it from a previous leak in the roof.J can tell you those stains were present on the board in the 1970s. They were not a distraction. What it was is a new education and development idealology. There are no losers and everyone gets a 'participation ribbon' now! 😡🤬🤮 I'm not gonna lie, I got pissed off big time! Nope, not for myself, but for my son and his inspiration that doesn't seem to be as inspired as my generation's was. But mostly for that boy who's name I can't remember. Because a bunch of mindless, uncaring, supposed teachers erased not only his greatness and his achievements. They stole his posterity and his name. They erased his entire life so it's now if though he never existed at all. For what? What reason could be so important to erase a person from existence? Some sort of perceived 🎉Social Correctness that is anything but correct! If that record board still hung where it should've been that day? I would've shared his name with the world just now and thousands of people if not more around the world would know who he was and the record times he achieved on a few of his most impressive records he set. Those records connected to his name would be displayed on the worldwide web for eternity. But instead thanks to some intellectually challenged herd minded thinkers and educators,I will humbly end this comment with... RIP Unknown Track Star.
