  • Texas A&M freshman Athing Mu not only blew out the field in the women's 400m, but set a new collegiate record with a time of 49.57. Athing Mu is one of the superstars in NCAA women's track and she's expected to run the 800 as she goes to the U.S. Olympic trials and tries to make the U.S. Olympic team in the 800m race.

@@rickyreward226 track is a wonderful sport for kids - so many events that there is something for all shapes and sizes. The youth track clubs know how to make it fun and they don't work the kids too hard to burn them out, so I hope your kids do give it a try - especially with their genes...that provides a tremendous advantage that many of their competitors will never have.

If she wants to improve her start, the first place to look is the angle of her block. He front foot basically automatically stands her up. Lovely runner when she is up and going

She is fantastic. It's a foregone conclusion whenever she races her peers. I can't wait to see her race the big girls and improve.
I would love to see her tackle the 200m. That would be a greater and exciting challenge.

Some people are naturally more articulate. Not a sin to point that out. Athing Mu just has great public speaking/interview skills.
