@@LTJ4CKIts a delicate balance.
If they did monthly ban waves, then cheaters can itterate and improve their cheats to be harder to detect every month.
A longer delay between ban waves means the cheaters cant react and fix their bugs quickly, yet the same number of cheaters are still logged and banned over time.
The tradeoff to making cheaters unable to iterrate is that the player base has to encounter more cheater build up between waves, which hurts average experience.

I don't think you can actually detect an Arduino being connected and I doubt it simply being connected would get you banned (valve isn't as bad as Ubisoft for this), my assumption is it either detects a handful of applications or alternatively weird inputs as hacks/macros don't resemble human gameplay and the engine has to handle inputs anyways. Look at a cheated doom demo file vs a normal demo file, you'll see all these weird strings of single frame inputs physically impossible for a player to imitate
@@christophernoneya4635 That is correct. However it is possible to detect an Arduino from the serial chip it uses. Also you could set up a macro with a timing randomizer (given a certain range) for each button press

Plenty of companies already do. My trackball and my mechanical keyboard both use Arduino based controllers running QMK.
