    Easy to follow video....had the ghost flushing issue....flipped washer no joy....replaced washer no joy....had my heating/plumbing mate look at it whilst he was servicing boiler....tried a few things but in the end had to replace the unit to fix the issue....process of elimination 👍

    Thanks Al, great advice. I had the same problem once but the problem was the cable between the button and flusher unit. It's like a bike cable with the inner metal wire and plastic outer housing. Once pushed, the cable didn't release back. Some grease applied in inner cable fixed it and been fine for last 3 years. Maybe that might help someone.

      Yes, silicone grease, it is great stuff. Little pot from Toolstation lasting me ages.

      Accessing the cistern is my problem. I was informed on YT that, once the buttons were removed there'd be a screw which, once removed, would allow the lid to come away. I removed the buttons..no screw!

    Do you just stretch the washer back over the end? I tried this before on a Roca push button flush in my house but was worried I was going to damage the washer. Ended up trying to remove the bit on the end that retains the washer and damaged it. Had the replace the flush unit.

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  Před rokem

      Yes just stretch it back over.

    The water in my toilet just kept flowing and not flushing. I watched your video. All I did was twist and the water level rose to normal and it flushed! Thank you. I did not even have to take it out after twisting. Although I could not actually take it out, any ideas why?
    I called 5 different plumbers who could not come out before searching on CZcams and watching this video.
    Thank you.

      Great job! The valve was stuck twisting it freed it up.

    I have this cistern, and sometimes the toilet cistern will just refuse to fill with water when flushed - then it randomly seems to fix itself after a bit of poking about - could it be that this part you showed in your video is the cause of the problem ? I just don't know why water isn't filling it sometimes. Its bottom fed water pipe into it if that helps? Thanks!

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  Před rokem

      It will be the valve that is faulty.

      @@dereton33 Is that the bit you took out in your video ? Sorry if its a stupid question and thank you for answering

  • @cjstubejackofalltrade1551

    Mine continues to run water after flushing and I have to give a little tap on the button after flushing to stop the leak. What could be the reason? It's a brand new toilet.

    Any idea on just the button on top of the cistern is loose, sliding side to side, going round in a circle.

  • @6581punk

    I have a simple flap one. But the button sticks sometimes, usually when I have guests meaning I have to run upstairs and unjam it.

      Take the button apart and give it a good clean. I sprayed some wd40 around the sides of it just to lube it up (😳). But so far hasn't stuck down letting all the water out

    Very good video but the builder sealed the top in as it’s furniture unit.
