Best things I did for confidence:
    Stopped wearing makeup
    Stopped dying my hair
    Deleted social media
Work out for energy and skills and not for how I look
    Stopped eating junk food
    Stopped looking in the mirror
Never been more relaxed, happy and healthy.

I once saw the writer Isabel Allende in an interview, and she was talking about her insecurities when she was younger (being very small, etc.). And she told a story about how she once worked for a designer, and they had the job of hiding or somehow covering up a massive pillar in a home they perceived as ugly, right in the middle of the house they were working on. They couldn't do it; nothing worked. And in the end, they decided to instead paint it bright red and make it a statement. Then Isabel said in the interview that she had learned from this: "If you can't hide it, SHOW IT." Boom. It has been years since I saw that interview but this advice really stuck with me, and I apply it frequently (among other pearls of wisdom because that woman is amazing). If you can't hide it, show it.

I totally agree that less is more when it comes to outer beauty. My skin is so healthy and beautiful and all I use is cleanser and moisturizer. I drink lots of water, eat well, and get lots of exercise / fresh air. I think that's all it takes!
And I wanted to say that after (binge) watching your videos I realized I didn't have very many clothes that made me feel beautiful and feminine and that were my age, so I invested in myself and went shopping and it's been a game changer! If anyone else feels this way and has the means, go to a store where they're willing to help you find the best pieces for you, because if you're like me, I didn't even know what to look for! It’s an inexpensive way to experiment with styles, colours, length of hems, necklines, belts etc. Are you more a geometric-print kind of gal? Or are you more florals? Do you like small prints? Or large? Thrifting is a great way to find the things you will want to invest in.

As a licensed skincare professional I think a lot of the problems people have when it comes to skincare aren't from using "too many" products. They come from using the wrong products for your skin type and skin conditions. Nutrition can go a long way in skin health, and I agree that a simple routine is great, but going to a licensed professional to learn what your skin needs rather than following the advice of influencers who don't have any formal education in skincare is important.

Yes...influencers would tell me to be gentle with my oily skin. I was still dealing with acne in my early 40's. I changed my skin care products to follow his recommendations and boom...I needed fewer products and my skin is better.

For the first time in like 20 years, I'm going back to my natural hair. I started dying around 13 years old. I thought my natural brown was so boring, I would dye it red, auburn or black. Though I was always doubting whether these shades actually went with my skin, but I did it anyway out of this strange hatred for my medium brown. Well, after dealing with depression and letting the color go for a couple years, my hair is mostly natural again. I kept telling myself that I was going to dye it again until I started realizing how beautiful my brown looked next to my skin complexion and eyes. Like you say, it's like the whole package was designed to flatter each part. I think I going to stick with my color for awhile as it seems I'm finally starting to appreciate it.

It's crazy honestly! I've always been insecure about my skin. The problem is for the opposite reason. I'm naturally tanned and I was born in a country where people prefer pale skin! I was so self conscious about it when I was a teenager, I even stopped going to the beach/pool. But that makes you realize that you'll never make everybody happy, so we should just embrace who we are 🌼🤍

It was funny hearing her say that because I was always jealous of women with more defined jaw lines. Like Kiera Knightly, Margot Robbie etc. Always felt bad about my more long face. You are literally the only person I saw so far who said taking care of your body is the best skincare. I used to have really bad acne’s, and I kept binge eating junk food during those times because they were really bad time for me. Mad I thought that buying tons of beauty products made up for everything I ate. But once I decided to let all that go and focus on eating healthy food everyday, my skin started clearing up. Trust me, it takes a lot of patience. A lot. And most time, I just wanted to used makeup and products for my skin again but I didn’t. Taking care of yourself is the greatest gift you can do for yourself.

I agree wholeheartedly about natural hair color. I stopped highlighting my hair seven years ago after 20 years of substantial highlights. The change was so dramatic, even family members asked if I died my hair and often looked puzzled when I told them I’d actually STOPPED dyeing it. So much healthier and it made me look younger.

I also stopped getting balayage/ highlights in my hair and I my natural hair color looks so much better! I look so much more fresh! Maybe it’s not “trendy” without the face framing highlights- but I actually look younger and it flatters me better! Not to mention my hair is so much healthier when I’m not putting bleach on it!

Thanks for the tips! I totally agree with you about the hair color. I colored my hair so much , that I started to believe my natural color was ugly. How small minded! Half of my life when not coloring my locks were gorgeous. I decided to embrace all of me and that means my natural hair color. I also speak to myself and affirm, I am beautiful, blessed, intelligent, God fearing, well read and if no one else thinks so , I know so. Blessings! 🙏😊

And by the side I am so proud how far you came with your subcribers… I remember of the beginning of last year you was on 3000 tausend or something and now you are at 29000🎉👏🏾Your videos has also helped me a lot.

Dear Jillz, I always love, love, love your content and this one is no exception. I just wanted to know how much I appreciated the slower pace in this video where you share your message with no haste. It really attributes to me as a viewer to calm down and take it all in as your content is always about how to embrace life in all its beauty. I know that as a youtuber, it´s a thing to cram as much information as possible in as few minutes as possible, but I ussually gets so stressed out that I can´s see such vids anymore, but I sticked around for all your awesomeness, and this video was extra delightful to watch because of your slower vibes. Keep shining! Love, from Sweden

I love your videos! Just wanted to say that it’s not necessarily true that your body has an “imbalance” if you have acne. I had clear skin my whole life, then started “natural skincare” in my early 20s. I got severe acne, cysts, and perioral dermatitis from the “natural” products I used. I changed my diet, developed an eating disorder and became depressed. I did multiple blood tests, hormone level tests, everything always came back normal. Until I went to my dermatologist and they said to stop putting oils on my face. Years later, I use drugstore, affordable products, that have saved my skin. I eat whatever I want (I follow a healthy diet but also don’t restrict myself) and don’t stress about what I’m eating. Just as a precaution that saying things such as “acne is caused by an internal imbalance” can be very detrimental to how a girl thinks about herself. I know because I thought for years something was wrong with me when my body was healthy the whole time, I was just self-sabotaging my skin.

You're absolutely stunning Jillz! Many women would probably wish having a wider/more prominent jaw like you. However, we all indeed have our own features that make us us..and I truly believe we can make the best of what we have and shine in our own way. I have struggled a lot with my own appearence too in the past though. Still every now and then..(especially when seeing myself on camera). i downsized my skin care like 3 months ago. my friend is an esthetician & while doing my facial, she said something i’m using or doing is sensitizing my skin because i actually don’t have sensitive skin(i thought i did my whole life). i was confused cause all i used was cleanser & moisturizer. now this is gonna sound crazy, but i stopped using cleanser. i only rinse my face in the shower & use witch hazel every other day to get rid of oil. when i tell you i don’t even get pimples around my period anymore! literally cutting out the cleanser fixed my issues on my face

I love this. I never have any skin care routine but my skin is fine no break outs just uneven skin tone. I'm starting to use vitamin c and moisturizer as I get older. Also using makeup with spf to protect my skin from the sun. I am starting to take better care of my body (food wise) and finding a style that fits my body type. I am starting to accept and love myself more. I always have a sexy aura lol even though I am petite. I think no matter what body type we have, we can always find a way to look our best.
