The final straw was Dallas intentionally tanking and benching Luka after the first quarter. He's already looking forward to another coaching job but he's smart enough not to quit. Cuban probably senses he wants to be fired so he can be get his money and sign with a new team.
@@rotweilerscholar1181 hmm good analysis.. I think Kidd likes it here due to the championship history. The only problem he has, in my opinion, is the lack of ball movement and defense. Luka is a phenomenal player, but is too ball dominant for Kidds taste. Having JB as the point; the ball moves well and the defense was solid, hence got them to the western conference finals.

I doubt it. I just think they were hoping to pair Luka with a star and didn't see Jalen as such. Tbf, Jalen came in as a second rounder. It's not fair, but people get pigeon-holed into roles the day they're drafted. It takes enormous work and a lot of opportunity for guys to break people of their pre-conceptions.
