Ugh! Basically none of this went as expected. I purchased a new battery from the shop. They filled it for me. I got it home and let it cool down. I took a reading at this point and it said 11.8v
Lower than I would have expected. I put my charger on it (2amps is all I have). 5 hours went by and it was still not done. (Was getting 13.2 but it obviously started dropping as I watched it. I shut it off and went to bed. I checked it in the morning and it was at 12.17v
I put the charger on it again for about 5 hours and it still didn’t finish charging. Now it’s at 12.25v
I know it’s charging as it’s bubbling away.
Anyone have a thought out there?

  • @ronharris2665

    Per YUASA instruction manual.
Step 5. Remove electrolyte container from battery.
    Step 6. Seal battery.
Step 7. Wait for electrolyte absorption.
    Step 8. Charge battery.
Shouldn't "Charge Battery" be after step 5?
I have a pic of the instructions but don't know how to upload it.

Yuasa, you contradict yourself in this video when compared to at least one other of your videos. If you go the 5:20 mark on this video: ( czcams.com/video/eWJTdnF_Dfk/video.html) you clearly say and show to NOT fully install the top cap before the first charge. Given the expansion of gases during a charge (and reading at least one comment from a person who posted on the video linked) the expansion can damage the battery housing and/or pop the top cover off. If this happens from following this video, will you warranty the battery?
