    Awesome video, clear and concise. Been riding since 2017 and never needed to replace a battery on a bike until now.
    I love that you are activating the battery when you get it, thus its as fresh as possible...not sitting in a shelf for months.

    Thanks, takes time to proper prep the battery . Here a battery seller (Bali, Indonesia) filled up(1 minute, piercing holes) and (over)charged with a car battery in 5 min only , new (made in China , brand Jaguar ?!)battery but bad cranking (not full capacity) ...Now I bought a Yuasa one(YTX 9-BS) and filled up and charged (with electronic trickle tender charger, max 2 Amps) myself. China battery 30$, Yuasa 40$, not much more than the china one.

    Quick question... I sent my Ecu to be Flashed and im waiting to come back, I also order a brand new battery and just arrived todays, once I finish with the charge, can I leave it plugged to the battery tender for a few days until my ecu comes back? Or... should i unplug it and store the battery in a safe place until ready to use?

    • @mrgirth6510

      If you are using a battery tender you shouldnt have any issue leaving it as they will only MAINTAIN at a certain voltage

    • @christosx13
      @christosx13 Před 9 měsíci

      Yes you can but you will lose important capacity and long life of the battery.
      Possibly your battery will fail much sooner if you dont follow this proccedure exactly.
      In 12-15 months your battery would get weak if you rush, otherwise it could last 6 or 7 years following these instructions by letter.

    As routine as this seemingly simple job is he should have plenty water ready at hand in case of mishap. Gloves and goggles on. Water ready in a clean squeezy bottle for flushing the eyes in case the worst happens. I've seen someone get Caustic Soda in one eye and it was instant agony and panic for him, immediately blinded in both eyes by tears and pain thrashing around looking for water. Happened as I walked in the room. He was lucky someone came in. Recommend to carry out this work on a steady, uncluttered bench or on the floor ideally in a basin to contain any spill. Also with PPE worn needs to carefully flush out the acid container with water before chuckin it.
    Juggling those live crocodiles in his hands? Could get a little spark and gas burn if not careful. Only energise charger after clips attached, positive on first and off last. Be safe or could be sorry forever. Just saying.

    My battery didn't ship with the acid. Silly question, but you can't just add distilled water?

    • @Zombified-
      @Zombified- Před 2 lety +1

      No, you can buy the stuff online. Distilled water is what you use when it's going low and you don't have extra acid laying around so you top it off with distilled water. Can keep a battery going another year.

    • @manzahalem8845
      @manzahalem8845 Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, but not necessarily “fully” charged to the battery’s maximum capacity. A Battery Tender will “top off” a battery once your bike is parked. Your battery will last so much longer (potentially years longer) if faithfully kept on a battery tender. I’m a big fan of the name brand Battery Tender, they are the perfect tool for the job. Sometimes they can be found at Costco for a great price, or at the company that took the time to produce and share this video.

      In all reality, this battery and acid combo is relatively failsafe. Unless you do something stupid like slapping the acid bottle or kicking the table the battery is on, the risk of splashing acid in your face or eyes is pretty low. Like non-existent almost.
      If you're accident prone, sure, get dressed right up, but for the amount of time handling the acid, and it's dilution state, it's incredibly unlikely you're going to get any in your eyes. Gloves would be smart though.
