My grandmother once told me she used to sneak a mouthful of vinegar each day as a little girl because she liked the taste. She carried on doing that all her life. She lived to be 105!
Which vinegar she used
@@Usern134-h4g In those days long past, it would have been malt vinegar - likely the only type available in UK grocery stores back in the day.
@@doyouknowthings so it's a sweet sour taste?
@@gate-gate6863 Not sweet - just vinegar taste!
@Francis LOL, guess so!
Dr. Grundy, we have vinegar made from sugarcane, vinegar made from coconut water, We always cook fish with Vinegar and marinate some meat & other foods with vinegar. But if you add vinegar in what you are cooking don't mix it until it boils because the taste of the food is not so good, but when you let the vinegar boil first in the food the taste is nicer. That is how to use vinegar in cooking. In my country before, we always use vinegar and we are healthy, we even use the fat of pork and beef for sautéing and frying and we are not getting sick, because it's not oxidizing. Even eggs, we ferment them - like duck eggs put in salty water for several days and after a few weeks boil it and it salted eggs. In my country, we put it in a clay pot and buried it in the soil.....You can also ferment raw green grated papaya and grated daikon by adding vinegar.. it's so yummy too and we call it atchara for the grated green papaya, as a side dish for meat and fish also the daikon so good.. Now you are Cardiologist, Nutrionist, And Chef....Dr. Grundy, I salute you .....thank you for all the info ...God send you to us...we are lucky.
You too give us good advice. Thank you.
With Regard ! Thank you Dr Gundry. For the precious information as always 🙏🇨🇦
My dad told me that his father, who was from Bulgaria and came to this country during WWI, had a spoonful of vinegar everyday. He lived into his 70’s even though he was a smoker.
Majority smokers live up to 70 and above
God Bless this doctor! Dr. Gundry is one of the best diet advisors on the internet today!
Dr. Gundry,..it is GREAT to see you on CZcams!! I HATED the way you were in other means shown online! On CZcams you are GREAT TO WATCH, and I so NEED your thoughts about health!! I REALLY ENJOY your messages, here, in this MUCH BETTER format!
I've been fermenting for decades now and have made a wide variety of vinegars. One of my easy-to-make favorites is beer vinegar (great on air fried veggies). My favorite "drinking" vinegar/shrub has been blackberry. So easy to make at home.
How please?

Pomegranat & Rasberry vinegar 💕
My advice: never drink 100% vinegar. To acidic, after I tried, healthy or not, I forget it. But after I heard that in Old Rome the poors did not drink wine, but posca, watered vinegar, I tried it, and I drink every day, as water. Best is apple vinegar. And use glass, not plastic bottle, if you do not want to confuse your hormone system.
You mean buy it in the glass bottle?
@@sl4983 I used glass bottled vinegar(here it is cheap, although the plastic cheaper), and I drink from a glass bottle the posca(=water +a few vinegar). The raspberry vinegar very good, but it is expensive, the apple is good for everyday drinking.
And to in season strawberries! The best!!!
Can red wine be made into vinegar and if yes what is the process ?
I drink APC vinegar with hot water with lemon sometimes and add spices like cinnamon, black pepper, salt, ground ginger or turmeric, garlic powder, & onion powder. It's like tea or a detox and enjoy it during noon or evening & then drink water before I go to bed every night. 😹😸😎👍
I put ACT in my morning smoothy. Tastes fantastic!!!

I just started using your olive oil...and I experimented with vinegar. I put it in water and Braggs vinegar with a little stevia and it is soooo delicious! Not only that, I felt amazing within a few minutes! If anyone is considering buying Dr. Gundry's olive oil...don't hesitate! (I'm not being paid for this lol...I just happened to start using it and I can't say enough about it).

Great info. Watching from the Philippines. Bragg's ACV was rare to find here in 2015 but now I see it in most supermarkets. High price and rising, now about $8+/32oz bottle. Read that a new company bought this and is diluting it. I noticed a couple of years ago the lighter color of the new Bragg's ACV and tried to stock up on the darker variety.
Can easily make living vinegar with bananas.
As we age the quality of the gastric acid diminishes. Vinegar gives a digestive boost. Thanks Dr. Gundry
I heard a rinse of your hair which includes a tbsp of acv in water increases circulation on the scalp and helps hair growth?
Does citric acid have the same benefits as acetic acid? Can lemon juice increase ongevity?

Just remember that the low pH will eat away some enamel from the mouth. " we hypothesize that vinegar consumption may cause the alteration of gut-kidney axis or the gut microbiome could also contribute to the kidney stone prevention effect in vivo. "" Chronic consumption of Shanxi aged vinegar could probably lead to a shift of the gut microbiome towards oxalate degradation and thus less intestinal oxalate absorption. We suggest that it's worthwhile to investigate the effect of vinegar consumption on the gut microbiome and consequently on renal stone formation" from study.

I started making my own vinegar a couple of months ago and have seen great improvements in energy! The easiest vinegars to make are from raisins and other dried fruits. ❤
You don't say !
Do you mind sharing your recipe/method for making your vinegar? Thank you!
Sure! Put about an inch or two of raisins in the bottom of a mason jar. Fill up the jar with filtered or spring water. Tap water can be chlorinated, which can disrupt the process. Cover the jar with a cloth and rubber band (it needs to breathe). Stir it daily to help get more oxygen in the mix of things. The bacteria needs oxygen to make vinegar. After about a month strain the raisins out of the liquid and then recover with a rubber band and cloth. Let it sit for another month or two. A mother of vinegar will most likely form at the top. It looks like the scoby that forms when you make kombucha. You’ll know it’s ready when it smells like good vinegar and the PH level is below 4. You can buy those PH strips online to test this. The raisin vinegar looks and smells a lot like balsamic vinegar, and it will have the Mother in it. Some of my other favorites are making vinegar with cranberries, cherries, and lemons. But you can make vinegar with just about anything, from flowers to scraps. Enjoy!!
@@balancingthelightbodyheath4824 WOW…. Thank you so much 💕
It takes two to 3 mths thx for the raisin vinegar. Which colour raisins r u using black or brown.
I hav tried apple cider vinegar
I would like to see you interview Sally Norton, author of Toxic Superfoods: How Oxalate Overload Is Making You Sick--and How to Get Better. Her approach to oxalates seems to be more balanced and practical than most of the alarmists on the Net. I saw your podcast on oxalates a few years ago.
One of my many takeaways from your work is to eat a MUCH larger variety of foods in much smaller amounts in any single meal. I really appreciate your work, it has changed my life for the better.
Oops "distilled vinegar" - don't do it! Distilled white vinegar is made from corn, which is mostly GMO, and usually stored in plastic bottles.
Not if you get it in glass
@@sl4983 White vinegar is still made from corn even if it's stored in glass. Since most corn is GMO vinegar will likely contain concentrated amounts of glyphosates. Look that word up because it kills everything except GMOs.
I've ever had selfmade dressing... cause it simply tastes better. I don't like any sugar in a tasty dressing.
I like italian herbes, garlic and spring onions....olives and greek cheese from sheep milk
Dr. Gundry, who should not have vinegar?
At what age can a child/ infant use vinegar?
I don't think they should be given vinegar
Add 1 spoon of vinegar to your water bottle every morning. Drink all day. Great for the bones 😋
Dr Gundry?
Ou I just want to add if someone has stomach pain when drinking a tad of vinegar, it probably means either stomach ulcer or leaky gut, if you have hole in the gut I believe that's what it's called maybe the vinegar will hurt you a bit, notice how when you eat food and then have the vinegar test to see if you still have the pain? What do you guys think? Heal the gut wall preferably before taking the vinegar, I noticed I sometimes get pain and other days I don't on an empty stomach, when I have something to eat vinegar doesn't hurt anymore. My guess is the food is creating a barrier on the leaky gut area preventing the vingar from hurting me, but this is all just speculation I'm not a gut expert.
Vinegar and sibo...
How is vinegar not breaking a fast? It stimulates the stomach to produce acid. Am I getting something wrong here?
Vinegar on ice cream?...I'm good;
I love putting a flavoured balsamic vinegar (love the Chocolate from Evoolution) into sparkling water too. Fabulous

I love vinegar, Dr. Gundry, but when I drank that balsamic-mineral water concoction you invented, when I drink that I get terrible acid reflux! Why is that happening?!! It pisses me off.
