  • I often get asked what I do to get my 6-pack abs. Here are 3 movements that I do consistently to help keep my core strong. Remember, there are a lot of factors involved in having abs that show. I credit my whole foods, vegan diet to a lot of it. Don't worry so much about getting a 6 pack, as having a strong core and healthy weight. It will come as a result.

    The second movement you demonstrated I learned about 25 years ago from a Judo student. The judo instructor required those as standard training for the students. its been around for decades. Great for lower abs but also does work entire core. You can ad on ankle weights for extra challenge.

    One week including this in my yoga practice and felt the HARD CORE BURN!! Powerful move. Thank you!! It just made sense this time!! Over the years I did not fully grasp this small "move" or feel a BURN like today!! It just clicked!! Age 56.

    dude the exercise with the hips that go up is one of the hardest you feel so much the burn and the pain and you see difference quickly

    Hey thanks man. I needed this. I quit the gym and just do high intensity resistance training and Ill add this to it. Ive recently turned vegan and have struggle with the change but will never give up.

    Hi I just started watching your videos and I want to tell you I think you have some of the best on CZcams. I came across this video and it changed how I do ab work now. When I did these exercises I used to have my lower back way off the ground, but now I'm really concentrating on keeping it pressed down like you said. I think this really changes everything.     Hey my brother, first off thank you for what you are doing for life as a whole and the planet!!! Respect...Been a vegan for 3 years and been doing resistance training and lifting for about 7 months now, getting great results! my abs are poking through nicely now, just waiting for my lower ones to show!!! About how many times a week do you train abs specifically? Do you mix them in on your push/pull or leg days, or dedicate specific time just for your abs? Ive been trying to work them out 2-3 times a week, getting in at least 3-4 different sets of very similar/same workouts as you are doing, not including the ab activation i get from pull ups/push ups, ect... Thank you man...

      You cannot overwork your abs... so you literally can work your abs every day!

    Just did this workout. I've been doing hanging knee ups, bicycles, planks, etc. I'm not sure exactly how to word this but nothing I've done so far was as "targeted" as this workout. I felt like my abs were the only things working which was amazing. Thank you!

    Uha I wonder what animal that was. Inform yourselves before you go into the wilderness as I do not know if this works :
    Well I read in another comment somwhere that : Bears and wolves : Avoid eye contact , Mountain Lions : Maintain eye contact.
    You probably can survive a bear attack when you play dead but in case of Mountain Lions : Don't play dead and Stand up straight, with arms above your head to appear larger. Back away very slowly in case the Mountain Lion is guarding a Kill or her a den / cave.
    If the Mountain Lion approaches throw rocks or sticks at that animal and yell at that animal.
    If the Mountain Lion attacks fight back. DO NOT RUN ! Cat's can't resist a chase.
    Other than that these are not my words but it sounds true.
    And also nice training and beautiful scenery.

    hey derek, i just discovered your channel and i'm loving it. i've watched frank medrano before and i thought the stuff he did was really impressive, but he was just so far away from someone who was just starting out. i find you more relatable since i also lived the drinking, partying and purposelessness life and i'm trying to find myself now. your videos are helping a bunch in finding my way as i watch where you began and your gradual progress. thanks a lot for uploading and keeping up the quality content. it's also nice to see what it's like in BC, haven't had the chance to go there yet, but i'd love to one day.

    Very important to focus on the abs flexing. I tore muscles in my hips doing leg lifts the sloppy way. I’ll never be the same. Also give your abs rest after about three days. 👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽🕉

      There was a spooky sound, but the camera didn't pick it up, so that one was added in post production so I didn't seem crazy. Haha, it's getting quite the reaction though. Lol.
