Living in Manor Texas - Pros and Cons

There are pros and cons to living in Manor Texas. It is close to downtown Austin and home prices are much lower than inside the city limits, but it is under-developed and property taxes are higher than most of the northern suburbs. The Manor ISD does not rank as high as Round Rock or Leader, but it is smaller and is improving. Manor’s crime rate is higher than Pflugerville, Round Rock and Leander, but lower than the city of Austin.

Cons... schools suck. Cons... 290 is the main thoroughfare in and out of Elgin and Manor - it is a parking lot in the morning and at night. Lived there for 9 years! We were so happy to move out of there!

It’s difficult to throw out a blanket cost per acre since there are many variables which can impact it. Are you looking for rural undeveloped land or something closer to current developments?

I lived in Manor 18 years ago..New house was 180 thousand..damn should of kept it 😭😭😭😭😭

I went to Manor Highschool back in the late 80s and climbed the water tower before Gilbert Grape did right over Duettes Tires. Della Duett was in my class.

I just rewatched that movie on Netflix a few weeks ago. Downtown Manor looks a lot like it did back then. Arnie has definitely gone on to bigger and better things.

3% property tax may hurt some people

Congested roads in need of serious repairs
Forget going to the parks or riding bicycles
You will get hit by a car

The housing developments always come first. Only after those two-lane roads get congested do they start upgrading them to handle all the residents
