    About Austin, Texas:
    🟢 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin,...
"Manor is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. Manor is located 12 miles northeast of Austin and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The population was 5,037 at the 2010 census. Manor is one of the faster-growing suburbs of Austin. Ranked the 7th fastest growing suburb in America in 2018 and in 2019, 20th best small suburb in America to live in."
"Manor was named for James B. Manor, who settled on Gilleland Creek west of present-day downtown Manor.
A school for boys began operation northwest of the present Manor High School complex in 1854 and was followed in 1858 by a school for girls near the present Manor Elementary School. A post office was reestablished in the Manor home in 1859 under the name of Grassdale with James Manor serving as Post Master. A mercantile store was built in 1868 the present cemetery and was followed by a second store in 1869."
"In late 1871 as the Houston and Texas Central Railway constructed the first railroad link to the Texas capital, James Manor made a donation of right-of-way which brought the line through what is now the town. The inaugural train arrived in Austin on Christmas Day 1871. The following year the community of Manor was laid out and named. It was incorporated as a town in March 1913 and converted to a general law city in 1921 with expectations of continued growth. Following two devastating fires that destroyed most of the business district, coupled with the decline of cotton production after the arrival of the boll weevil, Manor remained a small city throughout most of the twentieth century.
In 2013, Rita Johnse was elected mayor as the first female Hispanic. Then in 2019, Dr. Larry Wallace Jr., was elected as the first African-American mayor."
"Residents of Austin are known as Austinites. They include a diverse mix of government employees, college students, musicians, high-tech workers, digital marketers, and blue-collar workers. The city's official slogan promotes Austin as "The Live Music Capital of the World", a reference to the city's many musicians and live music venues, as well as the long-running PBS TV concert series Austin City Limits. The city also adopted "Silicon Hills" as a nickname in the 1990s due to a rapid influx of technology and development companies. In recent years, some Austinites have adopted the unofficial slogan "Keep Austin Weird", which refers to the desire to protect small, unique, and local businesses from being overrun by large corporations. Since the late 19th century, Austin has also been known as the "City of the Violet Crown", because of the colorful glow of light across the hills just after sunset."

When we first moved to Austin fifteen years ago, Manor is where we bought our first home. Being new residents of Austin, we didn’t know any better. There were promises that Manor would grow for years, yet we watched every surrounding city in the Austin area grow by leaps and bounds while Manor was stagnant in growth except for a Walmart….which everyone was very grateful for I may add…and a couple of fast food joints. The traffic on 290 to get anywhere out of the city is HORRID and you spend thirty minutes just to get out of there. The schools suck, ask every parent in Manor and they will tell you that. The crime mostly comes from petty stuff and domestic situations. Manor is nothing but a bedroom community, so if you don’t mind having to drive long distances in terrible traffic just to go to work or for entertainment then go for it. The city is also the most poorly ran city I have ever lived in. I honestly can’t think of anything positive about living in Manor, we finally moved from there to Pflugerville two years ago. As you noted, we did make a killing off our home we sold though. We bought our home for 115K and sold it for 200K.

    Living in Manor. Presidential Meadows
I like the small town feel but enjoy being able to be in the Domain within 20min via toll.
In the two years since having moved into the house we’ve seen almost 200k worth of equity in our home.
My only gripe is that Manor only has one gym that I’m aware of and it’s 👎🏽
That would be amazing if they would build a planet fitness out here - til then I’ll be working out mostly in my garage.

And that increase in equity only hurts your pocket book. Number one, your in Manor which is a dump. And because your home is over priced by 200k, your getting hammered on property taxes. All in Manor?

It's astounding that people think a 15-20 minute commute to work or downtown is long. I current commute 1.5 hours to work here in PA and it takes 50 minutes to make it to downtown Pittsburgh. Manor has significantly cheaper homes and they are nice. South Austin, Downtown, and Round Rock are 15-20 minutes out so its super easy to get an Uber to the bars or drive, AND you can be friends with people in both North and South Austin. Austin is already not a walkable city so Manor is a very good option if you aren't dead set on a location. Live there a couple years, move to where you want after.

Love this actually. I will say Austin is kind of spoiled about drives, if it's more than 20 minutes away we're like "That's too far" :D

Manor is a very good option if you aren't dead set on a location......... that is the issue. Manor is a dump because of its location. Elgin is the same as is Hutto, Kyle, Buda, Pflugerville, Round Rock and Taylor. Anything east of IH 35 needs to be avoided.

As a single woman, I’m hesitant to buy a house in manor, but I’m getting priced out in Austin. Do you think manor as a single person is a bad idea? What are your thoughts?

If I had ton loads of money I would purchase many lots in Manor, I can see where its going... Its too close to downtown Austin and the airport, not to be a future hot spot

Isn’t EastVillage ATX on E Parmer considered as part of Manor Tx?

I want to be close to Austin but I can't afford it. Hoping to maybe get a house outside of the area to live for awhile and eventually sell it to move up to Austin

Great video! Just found your channel and I'm sure you'll be making it big shortly. I'm going to enjoy watching the rest of your videos.
Manor really needs to put in some work to get more retail stores. Prices are great, but all the main stores are 20 min out (Pflugerville). I do think it will be a boomtown, with Tesla, Samsung and others building out close by.

Manor, Texas is a dump. Those that know, know that you avoid most areas east of IH 35 ie Kyle, Manor, Eglin, Hutto, Taylor, Buda, Pflugerville, Round Rock and most of Georgetown. The school system in Manor is below avg. If you want to see what is in Manor, just go to the junior high or high school. You will see enough from that to know Manor needs to be avoided. And traffic? ha ha ha ha ha
