One thing we forgot to mention - make sure you store your scooter in room temperature!
Definitely with a $500-$800 battery! Don’t want to take any risks. Thanks 👍
Is it safe to store in inside the house? No case of battery explosion?
Thanks
Thanks for the tips. I was looking a video like that to store my coming up Apollo Explore for the winter. 🌨️🛴
Glad we could help!
Thanks for the great tips. I still ride in winter as long as roads are clean 😁
I live in nyc, and we ride yr round
Right on!
Just keep the scooter clean and you should be good to go.
It can be done! But it can be really cold lol. Ride safe :-)
@@ApolloScooters any word on when the phantom will be dropping?
Hey do you use winter tires? Do you have any advice or tips for winter riding?
What about the oil chabge?
Can you tell me how to change explorer rear suspension
I did a lot of research regarding lithium ion batteries and what I found is when storing them the ideal energy is about 45-50%. But there higher recommendation is still good. I believe as long as the battery stays between 45-50% and doesn’t drop to dangerous levels It’s perfect. Also if you want your battery pack to last A LOT LONGER charge to 80-90%MAX when using the scooter/ebike and start charging when you hit 25-30%. You can thank me later.
Hi Nate. Yes, many people leave their scooters charged at about 50%. However, we recommend that riders keep their Apollo Scooters consistently charged in the 75-85% range. The battery will drain on its own, so we recommend making a point of plugging it in to a charger every few weeks to top it off. This will keep the battery healthy.
@@ApolloScooters Thank you for the feedback,
I love my Ghost. There are a few videos that talk about lubricating the bearings. Are these bearings not sealed then? If they're sealed, other than cleaning and using the lube as water disperser, I'm not sure I follow....
Great video, I was just about to post to the group asking how everyone prepped their scooter for winter storage. One question though, you mention lubricating your bearings, what bearings? Like wheel bearings?
Yes sir! If you check out our maintenance video (link in the description), we show you what needs lubricating :-) Happy you like the video!
I'm storing my scooter battery right now. Was at 54V and after two months went down to 53.6V. Lol even been trying to bring it down a bit by leaving the lights on for a while. Thing doesn't want to drop voltage much which is ok I guess.
Is there a somewhat-easy way to take out the battery only for winter storage? Apollo City takes up a lot of space inside..
thank you in
You're welcome!
Luckily I live on Oahu where I can ride year round!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Nice!! We would be lying if we said we weren't jealous lol. We're located in Canada, it's freezing!
@@ApolloScooters I actually visited my cousin who lives in Canada. It’s nice there much much different from Oahu Hawaii. Keep up the good work on your scooter line looking forward to see what you folks come up with in a few years when I’m ready to get another scooter.
Will the battery be ok stored in a average temp of -20to-25 for a few months
Hey there,
We'd recommend storing your battery between 10 to 20 degrees celsius. Storing it in freezing temperatures can negatively affect the cells in the battery and will lead to a loss in power storage ability.
@@ApolloScooters ty👍👍
so i have my scooter stored at 100% so i guess i have to get it down to 85% some how xdd
