SPLENDID presentation, and even more valid today, after her passing. She had a BRILLIANT mind that was sharp and supremely logical to the very end... definitely not "senile" in any shape or form. She fought tirelessly for the rights of women and oppressed minority groups, and advanced many progressive (in the TRUE, best sense of the concept - i.e. the opposite of REgressive) causes. She was a national treasure and her passing is a great loss.

Very lucky woman to find a man who was comfortable in his own skin, this is the very reason she had a good marriage.
Most men are trying to compete with their spouses without even realising that's what they are doing. Doesn't make for a stable marriage.

I read the book "Selling Women Short," © 2004 the landmark battle for workers' rights at Wal-Mart by Lisa Featherstone in 2007. The subtitle should have read: The landmark battle for WOMENS' RIGHTS at Wal-Mart, because that was what the class action lawsuit was about! The female employees won their lawsuit against Wal-Mart, and for a while it seemed like Wal-Mart had changed their evil ways. However, it didn't take long for Wal-Mart to revert back to their 'business as usual' behavior. Wal-Mart is the worlds largest retailer, and the worlds largest employer. They are still up to their same old tricks. I know this because my grand nephew applied for a job at a Wal-Mart store in Florida, and was hired immediately. He only has a high school education. Within 30 days, he was promoted to a "supervisory position" over other employees who had been there longer. One thing most people don't know is, if anyone (with only a high school education) accepts a promotion to a supervisory position with Wal-Mart, the store management holds the right to transfer you to any Wal-Mart store in the U.S. regardless of your martial status, and regardless of whether or not you are a homeowner in the state you hired in at! My grand nephew was told he was being transferred to a different state within his first month there. He is married with no children yet, but he was not willing to pull up his roots in Florida, (where he was born) and promptly quit his job with Wal-Mart there. Wal-Mart is all about the money. If you own a product you would like to sell at Wal-Mart stores, be prepared to not make a profit. Wal-Mart is ruthless, and will not hesitate to cut your company's throat and pull out the rug from under your feet all at the same time. Putting you out of business is not at all unusual. They do it every day with no qualms whatsoever! I don't care about the discount prices they offer to shoppers. I will not do business with a company like that!!
I stopped being a Wal-Mart customer after I read Selling Women Short

I stopped shopping Walmart 3 months after they opened their store in my town. Their practices were evil. First open 24/7 and low prices. Run competition out of town. Then limit hours and raise prices. I don’t know what they were doing to the employees. I haven’t shopped there in decades.
