Hot take; All the attention is doing nothing for her. She's doing this to herself, despite being well aware of her situation, and selfishly forcing her family to cope with the inevitable loss. There was never hope to begin with.
Chris's voice has actually gotten better with the weight loss. In older episodes every sentence he would run out of breath and he would finish with the last few words in a super high pitch as he ran out of air. Now he sustains his deep airy voice through every sentence.

I think Tammy's just kind of accepted that she's going to die, and that she's just going to enjoy the time she has rather than try to get better. It's sad because her family cares about her a lot even with all the argueing, and they hae to live through this
That's what I'm thinking. Many people tried to give help to her and she was not taking it. I just hope she is going to try to loose weight. The weight she is at right now is not healthy for her, especially some of the unhealthy things she done.
I agree. Overeating is usually a coping mechanism, along with the alcohol abuse, I truly think sheâs completely miserable and is just overindulging herself until she dies

I just commented this under another comment rip. But yeah, my thoughts exactly. It just seems to me that she's having as much fun doing whatever she wants, disregarding her health and what ever anyone says, and hoping for the best.
She probably thinks she'll have more fun before dying than she ever could on the road to recovery and becoming healthy.

Iâm obese. The biggest reason being is that I had an gallbladder operation and the surgeon damaged a few nerves. And now Iâve got horrible nerve pain and a huttload of medication that unfortunately slow metabolism as a side effect. Plus Iâve now got depression to boot. Then my husband left me and Iâm now a single mom to our 3 kids. My 66yo dad is my caregiver.
So I feel for Tammy. I really do. She hasnât had the easiest road and I do think TLC is one reason to it. They enable Tammy. And itâs sad.
Do you have any advice or thoughts? I would like to know more about your experiences?!

Food is a really bad addiction. I feel like it can even be worse than a lot of other addictions, since it is always advertised, you need it, and its always there.
There is actually a study that there are some people who produce more hunger hormones than others genetically. Hence the feeling that you HAVE to eat all the time. I will say once you get that big everything hurts to move, and food is constantly on your mind. Harder to lose and keep off even fifty pounds rather than ten.
I did get the gastric sleeve, which is supposed to take out those hunger hormones. It worked, I honestly don't get hungry anymore. I did have to lose 40lbs to get the surgery, without rehab.
It doesn't excuse her mean behavior towards her family at all, and she has so many more resources than most people. So there is only so much empathy I can give as a recovered food addict.
@@oompaville Sure, I think better mental help would have been extremely important to Tammy, as she clearly tried to self medicate with alcohol and partying. Perhaps even in hospital mental care + meds. Tammyâs had a rough road in her life and she clearly needed more help then she got. And TLC clearly has profited from Tammyâs issues. I donât think this show (and social media) has helped her. Iâm glad it has for the other siblings, but for Tammy it clearly hasnât. I pray sheâll turn this around. â€ïžđđ»

EIGHT BOTTLES A WEEK??? I told my doctor I was drinking ONE bottle a week and he told me that was dangerous and causing a lot of the problems I was having. Nobody told me alcohol could give you skin rashes and hives and bruising problems. I quit drinking after that and my skin is FLAWLESS
You could be allergic or sensitive to alcohol too.

It is possible in severe alcoholism, have seen it in my parents. I really hope not because she could get alcohol poisoning and I reckon she is near needing a liver transplant. Hopefully she doesn't have cirrhosis, I hope she gets sober at least

Alcohol is one of the few things you can withdraw from, that can straight up k!ll you, just by suddenly *not taking the substance* anymore. Its one of the reasons most places refused to close liquor stores during the first lockdowns for cov!d.
During DTs (or severe alcohol detox) which can give you seizures, extreme confusion, and full on hallucinations... 25% of people that don't get treatment in this stage will d!e.
Tammy is lucky she was already under medical care. A lot of the unfortunate ones that don't get help, d!e in the first 2 to 3 days, which also aligns with when she stopped breathing... I hope she continues to do better đ Alcohol is never the answer.

She had all the warnings to at least attempt to make a change and save herself and she actively chose not to. Tammy has no one to blame but herself, unfortunately.
Doesn't help when there are those in our society that push 'fat pride'. It's not pride. It's one of the biggest killers today. All of the other complications that come as a result of being overweight are disastrous and only intensify exponentially.

I think Chris use to be a heavy smoker which is why his voice is so raspy. I don't know this for certain but know a lot of people who have similar "rougher" voices as a result of smoking. I've seen some people comment on this in past episodes and just wanted to share đ

That was also my most honest wish when i was at my lowest with anorexia. I was Bedbound and too weak to walk and would suffer muscle cramps all the time, I felt like i'm dying, and then i got help, it wasn't easy but it saved my life. ICU was my wake up call but it seems it wasn't for Tammy. Unfortunate

I used to drink a handle of liquor a day in the marine corps and now that Iâm out have been trying to stop (Iâve cut down significantly) but sheâs going to have some serious issues quitting. Withdrawals for me are so awful and Iâm healthy and active enough to go out and distract myself. I couldnât imagine me going through withdrawals at that level of drinking and not being able to walk or do the activities I do with my friends to distract myself.
When you said âThatâs my Tammy impressionâ I had to go back like 20 seconds because I hadnât been looking at the screen and thought it was genuinely her and when I heard it again I started crying from laughter.
