- Christmas found us in Idaho/Oregon, celebrating with Nolan's family. It was such a great time and we stayed in one of the most unique Air B&B stays ever! A double decker bus imported from London!!!

I wish I was still as cute and joyful as Xander is when Iâm not feeling well. Such a precious little fella. He makes my Fridays. Absolutely canât wait to see him be a big brother. He has such a tender heart, I have my suspicions he may have a tear or two when he meets her.

Anyone going through the "winter blahs" needs to watch this to brighten their day. What great memories. I knew my triplets (now 43) had beautiful, heart-melting smiles, and Xander reminds me of that every time I see him. You are wonderful parents.

I was binge watching episodes over time going back years, and I love that you haven't thought you needed to transition to something else. What a blessing to see a strong testimony and love of the Mennonite way. Its easy to drift. Its a good reminder to me as I treasure the destinctives. They are just helps to stay on the path.

The love that is evident through the wonderful hospitality your in-laws and cousins provided for you and your family is amazing and heart warming. True family values that are hard to come by in the secular world. Of course Nolan reciprocates this love with help remodeling his mom's house. Still, I was amazed with the double decker bus turned into a cottage to keep you guys comfy for the Holidays!!! Keep these traditions
Welcome back! What a great vacation! Love the double decker bus. Can see why people make these their homes! It was beautiful! Great that the family got together for Nolan's mother and that they did work around the house for her. Such a loving thing to do. She must be so grateful! Loved seeing Xander try to skate. It helped us when we were told to push sideways and not straight ahead with the skates. Might help him next time. MANY fun activities! No wonder you were ready to come home - you must be exhausted!!! LOL! Glad you were well enough to fly. Your little girl had her first flight and she doesn't even know it yet!
Yes it was a blessing! And yes, that's a good tip. Sadly the skates were so dull one could hardly push sideways with them. At least mine. I bought him a pair, hoping to teach him for real this year! Thanks for coming along!

In Chicago we had the Bozo the Clown show. Later as an adult went to a reunion of the cast. Ringmaster Ned was so heartwarmed at the crowd's enthusiasm that he said I would like to take you all home with me. A little child cried...took it literally didn't want to go home with someone he or she didn't know. Well this video wants me to take Xander home. I love how happy he is and how his vocabulary has grown. But not literally of course. He is happy for the most part because his parents make things exciting for him. And soon the next chapter: Xander meets his baby sister.
Xander melts my heart . He is going to be the best big brother. The love he has from both mommy and daddy .he is truly priceless. So much love .đ„°đâ

Love that kid Xander. What a fun experience to sleep in a double decker bus. Looked like a delightful family time.
Xander going to sleep with his blanket and cup exactly reminds us of our little guy at that age ( now 24!) He even held his cup and blankie that way and was always busting up with silliness that we loved. Also, Xander's advanced vocabulary & enthusiasm toward everything was just like our little guy. And.... we had a baby girl 3 and a half yrs following our son so we have that in common as well. Just so you know, she was exactly the opposite in personality...still and so quiet, haha It will be fun to see what God brings you in personality this time around. Much love to you all!! That double decker bus was astounding; we want to rent that out. It is on our bucket list now ;) P.S. just so happy to see you feeling well still and thriving. Brings tears to my eyes; God is SO good!

Hubby and I lived in the small town of Star, ID which is not too far from Caldwell. One of my very best friend's lives in Caldwell with her family.
I am sorry for the loss of Nolan's father, I know how hard it is around the holidays without our loved ones. So happy you were all together!!! And that bus!!! WOW!!! AMAZING!

This was so delightful! Xander is such a joy to watch. You and Nolan are so patient and calm with him. It appears to me that Nolan still has a lot of kid in him! LOL The bus was great. So glad you got to spend this time with family, and with Xander, before the baby arrives.

Xander improved quickly. Rental skates are horrible. My Granddaughter Abby bought her own skates. She was fed up with the rental skates.

Just delightful - have only had 1-family Christmas in past 13-yrs, (albeit Aussie, just not the same) so this really is a special treat being able to share yours - and it truly is appreciated. Xander is the ultimate sport; always game, always happy & enthusiastic to have a go & give it his best shot - & I never heard him complain of the cold or anything being SO 'not fair!' (Which I used to hear from English kids too often! )
Your accommodation made me smile! When I think of all the cold, wet, miserable journeys spent on the 121 going to & from school, or later going to college in London & hoping to heavens I wouldn't miss my stop, because I couldn't see out tru' the steamed-up windows or the wall-to-wall musty coats of wobbling passengers, let alone reach the bell, all the while praying the driver would remember to make my stop, it never crossed my mind for a second that in a donkey's age people in the cold north of Idaho would think it FUN to spend an entire winter vacation on such a cold, shaky, creaky contraption!! And, NO! Jeannie, those comfy banquets bore no resemblance to the stained, itchy seats we endured many moons ago! I was quite impressed how they tricked it all out, though - looked quite comfortable, just glad it didn't blizzard for you! And Xander seemed to genuinely love it. Have to credit ingenuity!
Loved all the activates you go t up to - some very nice educational yet very fun things to do, even in the Frozen North - most excellent! Happy New Year! đđŸđ¶đŠđđžđđ đŠđŸđ

@@theMennoniteMom Well, to a degree, I think it's because we've been there, done that got the Tshirt & battle scars! But I do love how creative people can be - how they can turn an old relic into something unique, useable & fun - I'm sure that experience will stick with Xander & he'll be wanting to go on a REAL double decker, which I hope you'll get to do one of these days (in England!) I think the new ones have all mod cons but you can't hop on & off as we used to - trying not to loose our school hats in the process! Have a great week y'all. :)

What a charming little city to vacation in. I would live in that double decker bus as a permanent home but it needed a nice tub and a fluffy sofa to snuggle up in. I could downsize from this 2800 sq ft house. ( way too much for 2 adult emptynesters ). It looks like Xander had a wonderful time.
