    I described the hard shifting/ safe mode to my mechanic and he went straight to recommending tranni rebuild.

      That actually happens quite a bit but many transmission shops have become educated on these units and the transmission problems that they can cause when not delivering a good signal to the PCM

    If I take my gauges from a 1994 OBS and install them in a gauge cluster chassis from a 1995 or 1996 chassis OBS gauge cluster chassis are the printed circuit boards the same? They do appear slightly different.

    Is the sign wave signal present even if the truck is not running or not moving

    I have a 94 RV E-350. It is shifting to 4th immediately when I start from a stop and it doesn't downshift if I hit the gas at speed. It works fine if I shift it manually. My speedo seems to work fine. Do you think it could be the PSOM?
    EDIT: The PSOM was fine. The ECU ended up being the problem.

    This is great, My 94 150 manual trans has no speedo or odometer movement. I'll pull the cluster and visually inspect for damage. What readings should I see or look for? Thank you!

      Check your fuses first, I found when the speedo and odo quit, one of the 15 amp (blue) fuses was open in the fuses on the dash near the driver

      @@kellismith4329 Turns out there were several electronic giggly bits on the speedo module that had failed. A tiny diode and a couple capacitors'. Sent it to Texas speedometer (Ebay) and they fixed it.

    I'm having the oscillating speedo problem in my 94 . I changed out from my 1996 who's speedo works perfectly. The same problem happened. I changed out the speed sensor with a Motorcraft sensor no difference in the problem. I changed out the tach sensor in the timing wheel cover 7.3 IDI. What's next? The tone wheel/gear?

    I have a 1992 PSOM and when I hold the reset button when powering on it says E 03. It doesn’t have a number off to the side for the number of reprograms left. Do I just have an early version that doesn’t tell you?

    • @ClusterFixWashington
      @ClusterFixWashington  Před rokem

      It is the early version but you still need to press the button a second time to get the CAL code out of it

    Hi I have a question sir, what cable you connect to positive and what to negative to see the miles.of the PSOM I need know how many miles have my cluster please thank you

  • @Rocknbrown

    Rather then send the cluster in, can I pick one up at the salvage yard?

    • @ClusterFixWashington
      @ClusterFixWashington  Před rokem

      Yeah, that's always an option but finding a good one may be difficult and it will have the wrong mileage and CAL code may be different as well.

    So where exactly is the info to diagnose a dead odometer??

    • @ClusterFixWashington
      @ClusterFixWashington  Před 4 lety +1

      There should be power from fuses 8 and 18 to terminals 1 and 3 and ground from the firewall to terminal 2 of the PSOM connector
