NATO has never really "expanded" as such. Countries have just fled from Russia. The sooner Russia gets this, the better.
This is clearly for politicians to decide, not couch experts. Many years ago, Russia was promised that there would be no expansion to the east. Russia has been attacked for centuries and it is logical that it is against it. Ukraine, like NATO, did not care about the agreements. Greedy countries that cannot be trusted. Especially the preparation for war since 2014, if not earlier.

But When Putin sends out the nukes what you gonna do?
13:00 When I heard about the Russian plans, I burst out laughing. I am Polish, but we share our opinion on NATO and Russia with our Baltic friends. And I can assure you that it will not be possible to change our views. We, the former nations of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, have learned lessons from our own history. We clearly see who is friend and who is enemy. And we are certainly STRONGER TOGETHER.
If we were a friend of America, they'd let us have a nuclear deterrent. Watch the interview (in English) on Historia Realna with Mearsheimer. He says US will never let us have nukes because we could draw them into a nuke war. So a nuclear attack on Poland won't draw America into a nuclear war. That's all you need to know. It's nice to say we are friends with the US, but just because Russians are aggressive and war mongering doesn't mean America is really such a good friend either. And the French will sell us out to Russia in 5 minutes.
And this time around your western neighbour đ©đȘ is there to support you!
Fool me once, fool me twice. But the 3rd time around, we are on the allied team!
It gets even better. When Russia hears about Russia's plans from western sources, they also burst out laughing.
Politics don't care about reality. Putin doesn't actually have to change anyone's mind, he just needs to create the _illusion_ that there are a large number of people in the Baltics that agree with him, that he can then point to as justification. Even if you don't change your mind he'll just lie and say you did, and then make it really hard for anyone to prove otherwise. Politics is about appearances and absolutely nothing else.
Just like he did in Crimea and is currently doing in the Donbas. There's a reason every dictator on earth has a "100% citizen approval rating"

NATO should stem the flow of illegal criminal migrants to Europe, this is the job they slept on. The only job that matters to ordinary West European citizens. We do not care about Ukraine. Until 5 years ago, we rarely ever thought about it. Why should we sacrifice everything over a foreign country far away?
actually not true. There was no need for more military power when the cold war ended and everyone stopped the arms race....Nato, as one power, is faaaaaar ahead of any other military power. There are no real threats to it, especially the US. In fact the US invaded and attacked several other countries in the last few decades (Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran...). Nato did exercises before and article 5 was triggered by the US and NATO troops were send to Afghanistan . Nato didnÂŽt rust much in the last few years. that must explain why Ukraine is losing
You really want a nuclear war. Youâre sick.
@@chadhaire1711 Sadly it's because Russia is able to outproduce the West / Nato when it comes to artillery shells. Unlike EU member nations, Russia kept their ammunition production facilities after the cold war. Restoring them to working order took less than a year, and the components needed is bought from non sanction nations. While Ukraine is doing a very good job with the resources available, Russia has about 4x the population, and when it comes to a standstill war, it isn't about tactics, but about the amount of bombs you can throw at the enemy. Since there is no air supremacy in the war, artillery is the king of the battlefield. The devastation caused by the war is mainly inside of Ukraine, so the losses of industry and civilians is mainly on their side.
European NATO member nations doesn't seem to realize the situation, and they don't seem to take the threat seriously. A loss of Ukraine will encourage Russia to escalate issues around Kaliningrad next, and are likely to gobble up Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania next, and probably escalate issues in Moldova as well. To be honest the situation is very bad, and the environmental regulations by EU hinders mass production of ammunition. It is like European leaders fell asleep back in 1991, forgot that international competition between nations exists, and have been content moralizing on other nations, while outsourcing all their industrial capabilities.

We all already know, especially seeing the war against Ukraine, that Russia is not capable of maintaining its equipment because it simply does not have the money and the capacity to do so.
Those Nukes are also very fat and very large, which added to their age and little or no maintenance... I am sure that more than half will be dismantled, a quarter will not take off if they are launched and of those that manage take off, half of them will fall into Russian territory due to failures derived from that age or poor maintenance. Only a few will be in a position to reach their destination and... be shot down by technologies that ARE NOT 30, 40 or 60 years old like those Nukes... In short, the possibility of Russia launching them is minimal and the consequences that would entail Doing so would be catastrophic for Russia...
No chance
@@Floren_Andro You are completely incorrect. You say Russia doesn't have the money to do any updates, utter nonsense. Russia economy is so robust it has a zero debt level and reserves into trillions yet the USA and western countries are sinking into a vastness of debt where they can't even afford to pay their bills. Russia sits on the worlds biggest natural resources and THIS is why the USA wants president Putin gone so they can take control of that. You say about aging nukes, and the lack of launch ability, you are aware that most nukes are ICBM and air launch so to say most will probably fall off shows how little you know. The most dangerous nukes Russia has for the west are the Topol which even NATO has admitted are worrying because you can't track them in time and they can launch within minutes. Imagine, Belarus launches 6 of these against Poland and Germany and the UK, before anyone from NATO could react BOOM. So you reply is at best hilarious and worst worrying that someone even thinks Russia is not a capable enemy.
@@dannyboyspain1
Of course Russia has little debt.
Russia can't find anyone willing to loan money without expecting a very high rate of return.
The Russian economy is trash with high interest rates accompanying a worthless currency and a domestic economy that is being crushed by overspending on the military.
Africa is rich in resources too.
Doesn't mean a thing if Russia like Africa has little ability to extract those resources.
"Near peer adversary" Lol even a little insult to Russia in that statement. ALMOST equal, not quite.

so? it states that every state can respond in the manner they deem necessary. yes aid is enough. no aid will not be all. so far article 5 will feel like a personal attack to all members. if this feeling is kept hell brakes loose.

Why did the US, together with the CIA, commit a coup in Ukraine and then spend 8 years arming and recruiting, killing Russian-speaking citizens and bombing cities with NATO weapons in Southern Ukraine?

đYea right, another grand Coalition of the Willing, eh? Just take a look at the results of what you did in Vietnam, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and North Korea. You'll be lucky if Ukraine's front line receives even half of the military aid gleaned at taxpayers' expense. Not to mention all the US third parties that are contracted from almost day one of this conflict to "rebuild" it, just like what happened with Iraq. The latter is still an utter ungovernable mess with almost none of proposed reconstruction efforts ever materializing.
Impressive. However, the number of tanks sounds like the number of tanks RU loses every month on the front in Ukraine.
True. My guess is that the exercise is only to scale for how many troops they believe are necessary to combat Russia while they're engaged in Ukraine.
If you look at inventories, NATO has way more equipment, but they aren't deploying 100% of their equipment for exercises.
Russia has impressive production but NATO is just massive and can certainly rise to the occasion of matching/out producing a single country.
NATO don't rely on armour as much as Russia. NATO puts much more into achieving air domination.
NATO power is on airforce, who wins the sky wins the battlefield, then the tanks do the rest. that's all it is needed. It also lowers the casulities. Russia has no chance against nato and it's air supremacy
Difference is, our tanks weren't made 40 years ago and actually have maintainers. Not to mention having combined leadership that don't sell out the lives of their men for money and vodka.

I think so. Otherwise they wouldn't need to show off such a large exercise.. Don't get me wrong, I'm Australian we stand with Ukraine too, but as a non-NATO observer why does it look as though Europe is scared? if Russia is so bad, you don't need to do any military drills, you can go about your daily life not caring.. because Russia's bad, right?
They've been doing this for a while now. They overhype Russias capabilties and downplay NATOs whereas in reality NATO would completely wipe Russia out in a conventional (or even a nuclear) conflict very quickly.

I don't think Russia is "terrified" when they have the clear upper hand in the Ukraine war. The fact that you have a group of nations banding together just to fight one shows who are the really terrified ones. The Russians are formidable fighters and they kicked Nazi Germany's as-s during WWII.
A "clear upper hand", yet their "a couple days" operation is well into it's hundred's now.
@@ASpecialGuest Whatever. The reality is that Russia is winning the war and time is on the Russian side. Russia is becoming immune to western sanctions and getting stronger gradually. And since the NATO is out of granates it is hard to believe they will succeed.
And the logistic lines are too long.
It is easy to draw lines and arrows on a map, but in real life it means hundreds of miles for supplies.
Do not forget Russia is a big country and Europe is closer to Ukraine that the far east of Russia. So logistically, Russia is possibly in a worse position. Not to mention how Russian supplies are having to try and stay a long way back from the front line due to a tendency to explode.
Russian Supplies have already been exhausted, they are going into reserves and making dark deals with their slippery allies to get short term boosts. If they took on Nato, they'd be crushed. Air power, land power and manpower would demolish the Russians and I believe that many would surrender before things got dire (because things there are already dire in some areas).
@@neilbadger4262 how came Europe isn't able to keep his promises delivering the 155 mm granates
Promises being delayed is one thing. Promises being broken is something else.
Why did Putin not keep his promise to use nuclear weapons if the west provided aid to Ukraine?
@AnthonyAnthohijsz sorry if I upset your mind, the logistics are completely fine, Ukraine is getting weapons and ammunition very quickly and now Europe is constantly increasing its capacity, Ukraine is also producing weapons itself and Russia will never be able to prevent military aid to Ukraine, they will be delivered through NATO and European borders!
