Utah's new flag is absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS.
Yeah it's good and all, but it really doesn't even compare to Arizona, New Mexico, or Colorado

flag of Ohio is only state flag that is not rectangular in shape. It is a swallowtail flag, which means it has a forked end 😅
It is also one of the two flags that have the first letter of their name on the flag

The actual symbolism of Alaska’s flag is that another name for the Big Dipper is Ursa Major or the Great Bear, and the bear is a creature associated with Alaska. And Polaris represents both Alaska’s future as a state (this was created back in 1927 when it was still a territory) and Alaska being the northernmost state. And the blue field represents not just the Alaskan sky but also the color of the forget-me-not, Alaska's official flower. It was created by an Alaska native child named Benny Benson from Seward who was 14 years old at the time of the contest. He sadly passed at age 59 because of a heart attack in 1972.

Another Georgia flag that you didn't show was the flag they used from 2001 to 2003 which was even worse. When Roy Barnes was elected governor, he responded to the increased calls to replace the flag. Designed by architect (yes, an architect) Cecil Alexander, created a compromise for a new flag that featured a gold banner with smaller versions of Georgia's past flags (INCLUDING the flag they just got rid of in 2001) under the words "Georgia's History". And of course, they slapped a gold version of their coat of arms all on a blue field and called it a day. Let's just say it broke every single rule of what makes a good flag. People called it the Barnes flag, and this led to Barnes losing his reelection.
And there's a reason why Hawaii's flag has the Union Jack: It's for Hawaii's historic relation with the British Royal Navy. A Red Ensign with the Union Jack was given to Kamehameha I by Captain George Vancouver in 1793, who previously visited with Captain Cook in 1778-1779. However, Ireland wasn't part of the UK until 1801, so this specific ensign didn't become the current Hawaiian flag. So what did? Well, Scottish captain Alexander Adams of the British East India Company! The current flag was created by him as part of a China trip in 1817. At this time, he was part of Hawaiian Kingdom Navy. On his way to China, while stopping on Kaua'i for supplies, he gave Kaumualiʻi (last supreme ruler of Kaua'i and Ni'ihau) an ensign to raise at the port, as Kaumuali'i only had the Russian flag left behind from a failed Russian colony.
