Chelsea Need To Stick With Pochettino

  • Chelsea have had a woeful season. Our Premier League campaign at various points has been embarrassingly bad. However, Pochettino has found a bit of rhythm of late and if we make it into the Europa League, should that be grounds for him to keep his job? Two London derby victories will always do the feeling around the club the world of good, but have we actually improved? It was only 10 days ago Arsenal beat us 5-0 in what was our worst ever Premier League result.

I've been watching for the last 20 years and Tottenham were a mid table team at best, the only time I ever saw Spurs fight for a prem title was under Poch, several times they came close even finishing 2nd one year, Spurs had never done that in my lifetime, he also reached a champions league final, there is a reason he's highly rated, this team is young and brand new and always was going to need time, Poch needed time, that's why I wasn't throwing my dummys out the pram and being reactionary like everyone else, look where we finished last season? Poch wasn't here and we were dreadful, so blaming this team on him when we were already bad before he came is stupid.

Rory we’ve been here before. You called for Tuchel’s sacking. Some results and performances under him were very bad. But he went on to absolutely school Arteta and Arsenal, that team you’ve been waxing lyrical about all season. Absolutely schooled them. Not favourites but beat them anyway. Careful what you wish for.
And by the way, I think you started watching Chelsea when Hoddle was manager. More Spurs than Poch, Rory.
And you wanted Chelsea to sign Kane. One of their own.
And you want Jose back. Even though he managed Spurs after Chelsea and would’ve known the rivalry.

Leeds and Chelsea hate each other, have done since the late sixties and hadn't played each other in the League for nearly 20 years and it was still rife. I do get it, no idea why this happens if fans are against it. The two comparables are Benietz to Everton which was ofcourse ridiculous, and Redknapp to Southampton which must be the daftest one of all time. However with Redknapp the Southampton fans were broadly neutral, it was the Pompey fans that never forgave him for it, which again I do get. It's fair enough you want Poch out for Tottenham reasons, however my view on it is Poch (like Redknapp at Saints) has done a good job on the pitch and it is the most enjoyable football than I have seen since Zola and Vialli (god rest his soul) were around.

Every statistic shows that Chelsea have unperformed in almost all accounts and should be far higher up the table than they actually are. Still behind the top 3, but still better than the rest. The game was still there to win but Spurs were off on one of their deathwish things, and afterwards Pocho virtually gave it his approval. Fucking disgrace. As a neutral with a Chelsea supporting relative, I've never rated Pochettino and have always considered him to be a glorified underachiever, at the same time though I also don't think he's the problem at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's issues for the last two seasons all stem from Boehly going in there and trying to change everything at the same time. They never should have sacked Tuchel and hiring Potter to be a total yes-man and the club version of Gareth Southgate was always going to be a disaster.
Right now, Chelsea just need to settle down a bit and have some continuity and let the manager get on with it without buying players he doesn't want and selling players he'd like to keep. They'll be top 4 contenders again next season with a bit of patience.

Poch just quietly gets on with his job and doesn't play up to the media or get involved in histrionics, this gives the impression he's reserved and weak but he isn't. Sheffield Utd, Forest, Burnley...The crazy thing is, we don't have those poor poor performances at home, we're up and around 5th. Poch will get another season, I don't know if I think thats a good thing or not. But I hope he takes what he has learnt this season. Builds on it, and doesn't revert back to type once the injury list is shortend.

Need to put football into perspective mate.
It should be an enjoyable part of ones life. Enjoy the good times and accept the bad ones and get on with it.
Passion while the game is in action, joy when you win and disappointment when your team loses.
I've been there on a day we were relegated. Absolutely gutted for an hour after but already talking about the next season on the train home.

I adore Poch. He has a clear vision and is sticking to it. A new manager is far from a solution to anything. In fact that would be digressing in my opinion. To keep fan channels like Rory’s and Youness away would be the real solution and success in keeping fans connected with the manager, players and club. The truth is people struggle to see things on their own and make opinions based on others negativity.
The reality to me is the team is ahead of my expectations for being a brand new team. They are young which equals inconsistent. Friendships and personalities are yet to develop with in the group. Standards are yet to be set and then improved on. Leadership roles are yet to be organically realised and shown. It will take 2 years for any human to truly feel at one with others and their environment to understand if they are a success or failure.
Poch is key to our success. Players love him. His methodology is up there with the top 5. It’s progressive, yet consistent to allow players continuity and rarely change style outside the midfield box. Because that’s where I think fans who aren’t naturally a details person or more Rory like, and self confessed, brain work only on emotion. We are a box midfield team and that has always been the continuity from Tuchel, Potter and Poch. The only difference is patterns and balance outside that. We constantly change formation throughout the match. Tuchel was a more disciplined static team. Potter was progressive but lacked discipline and aura with players turning his philosophy into chaos. Poch is a balance I can really get behind. You see discipline but also giving players an ability to express themselves. It’s rarely chaos, when it is Poch has enough about him to rectify it and hold players accountable. He has players fit showing high energy. For now, the only players showing consistency which is remarkable for a young team is Palmer, Gallagher, Gusto and obviously Silva but he is not young, but some would argue too old to be consistent. You are now starting to see others emerge with consistency like Noni, Jackson, Caicedo, Petrovic, and Trevor (players that you want to give consistent playing time to). Next through I hope will be Cucu and Badi. This is without mentioning the injured stars.

Is Poch the ultra late Havertz, when everyone has given up on him, he stuns us with a Poch class wizardry that puts everyone into gear and then suddenly competing for the title? All he needs now is Georgiy Sudakov to up the game that little bit more, apparently he's only 65m pounds so get him obviously and if money gets tight then sell Madueke to Arab league innit?

My opinion is if they sacked him months ago it would have been right deciding if they got a solid manager in straight away but it's too late now the performances are improving so it's the worst time to upset squad but tbh I think they should have trusted potter I think given 2 years he would have them on a similar path to arteta and arsenal

Get Chelsea a legit striker and this young/talented team will be a force in the future. Sacking Poch will be counter productive. This is a young team and the inconsistency shouldn't be a surprise. If they get a legit 25-30 goal a season threat they will be tough to beat.

Rory, he is a transitional manager-developing your youth before a better manager takes over and takes your youth to the next level. There has been improvement in a number of your players-Cole Palmer, Madueke, Petrovic, Nicholas Jackson, Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo. Nevertheless, he will be gone either this June or next June. Didn't he so much as admit it in the last couple of interviews?

This is why Chelsea fans and the club get made fun of. Takes like these, Chelsea fans thinking that just one man will change the whole dynamic of a club and hit the ground running. Our history with firing managers is wild, and for a while it had worked well because we had elite world class talent. That’s not the case right now, this ain’t a Roman team. This is a roster that was rebuilt like no other team has ever been built in this sport.. in two years we’ve spent a billion on a bunch of youngsters who are now at a massive club with ridiculous expectations. Rory is the type of fan who completely Ignores the turmoil we’ve gone through, the injury list, the lack of clinical finishing that has cost us so many point. Yet Chelsea finally look like a team, a legit team with the youngsters who are players for poch. We literally have a starting 11 we can make with injured players. Poch ain’t perfect , but he’s weathered a gnarly storm with what he’s got , and we have a chance at europe. As Chelsea’s fans we need to think differently under bohley, this ain’t the same team that’s always competing. Be humble, teams go through cycles.. we aren’t bigger than pool or Man U… Man U have not been even close to elite since saf, and it took pool 30 years to win another title. Arsenal are just now becoming a team after 20 seasons of mediocrity. Patience is key, we as Chelsea fans lack that…. Give the dude a chance to maybe get some important players .. dude has not had the chance to play his best 11 with the amount of injuries we’ve had. So many Chelsea fans think it’s just as easy to bring another sucker in..

Give Poch a chance. We are in transition. If next season he is not where we should be then by all means. Rory is acting like the typical Chelsea fan. We are not used to not winning so we try to change the manager as we see a little trouble. We are spoiled and we should learn to suffer a little bit before seeing the promise land.
