- Manchester United suffered another defeat this season. This time at home to Arsenal. That is Manchester United's 14th loss of the season so far and naturally there is speculation that Erik ten Hag could lose his job. If INEOS end up sacking him it is looking like Gareth Southgate could be the in line to be the next Man united boss...we also talk through the other major candidates including Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi and Graham Potter?

Who do you think should be Man United manager next season?
erik the 7 hug
You said Dutch managers aren't good enough in the PL. What about English managers? They're absolutely shambles. And stuck in the past as well. Playing 90s and 80s football.
Kieran Mckenna
Mendilibar, he won europa league with sevilla last year, hes in the conference league final with olympiacos this year after clapping emery's aston villa taking them to the club's first ever european final, and I know greek league isn't one of the top leagues, but olympiacos is the only greek side that is fighting for both a european cup and their league title until the last game basically, and its all thanks to that man. Sure PL is a different beast entirely, but Man U isn't really in a position where they can afford Pep or Ancelotti
Not Southgate .. why don’t you take him at Chelsea
As a Utd fan - i'm extremely aware that no matter who the manager is (pep, southgate, or ETH) - Utd are doomed to finish 8th-5th for the next few seasons no matter what.
Pep could not get top 4 with this squad and medical department, absolutely not. What on earth is he going to do with AWB at LB??
Hence it pretty much does not matter who the manager is. Just spend the next 18 months fixing the long list of issues at the club above the manager (recruitment setup, director level football vision and coaching, commercial side, medical dept, training facilities, stadium) THEN plug in the right manager along with a star player or two.
Until then, whoever it is- is essentially a caretaker. Just steering the ship while the ship itself receives significant repairs.
We are basically where liverpool were when they had Jay Spearing. Or where arsenal were when they realised they needed to freeze out Ozil etc.
You would’ve said the same thing after Ragnick’s season. People always underestimate how fast things move in football.
@@joew7854 I did, but I knew as long as the glazers controlled the club there was no hope in anything, it was pure despair. Just waiting for the club to go bust!
Thankfully INEOs have control now and appear atleast half-competent. With them making decisions we can start to have ambition for the future.
The banter era will be in full effect with an Emery appointment I can’t believe this
PLS GIVE TEN HAG A LIFETIME CONTRACT🙏🙏🙏
Exactly! Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm sure ten Hag will win a Premier League title in ten years as long as United provide him with world class players, a new stadium, and two billions to renovate everything he needs to succeed.
@Neo-Reloaded how about give Frank de bour a lifetime contract at your team
@@jonathangallagher3137 How about look at your team
I know is difficult to keep United out of your Mind when is living Rent Free
Always see identical comments to this at the end of every manager cycle at United. Fast forward a year or so after the manager is replaced and the same people go "they should have given him more time" when the same thing happens again where the players don't perform.

These players have gotten multiple managers sacked. The players and the people above the manager need changing first.
What players? This narrative that the same group of players have gotten every manager sacked over the last 10 years is nonsense. 15 players in the squad currently have only played under ETH at United. 12 have played under both ETH and Ole. 6 played under Jose. And 3 played under LVG. Can’t use that fan channel excuse anymore.
@@lmq9516they keep singing rotten sporting personality’s that will get a manager sacked
It's literally the managers job to get the players in line, get them working hard in training and getting them performing on the pitch. If the manager cant do that then he'd out of his depth.
@@kaidenhall2718 Who's they? Ten Hag signed these players...
@@SonnyK248 he doesn’t have a structure around him like arsenal, city and Liverpool do and also id me surprised if half the squad was signed by him
Gareth Southgate - welcome to Manchester United.
I’m sorry but out of all people who talk about football I think Rory’s opinion would Prbly be the one I really do not want to hear on this topic
Talking about one game like it changes a football club
Then don’t click on the video.
Sometimes his opinions are real bad but if im gonna be honest he's real on point in this video
“Nobody predicted Bayern Munich to get to the semi final”
What???
I was so confused when they said this. Bayern had one of the easiest paths to the semifinal, they just had to beat Lazio & an Arsenal team with no experience playing in the UCL.
Its Premier league bias lads
As an Arsenal fan I obviously want Southgate to manage either Chelsea or United (sorry 😉) but as a pure football fan, Southgate deserves to be nowhere near a PL side. He does not have the credentials and he is a catastrophic flop. He's like a league one manager.
Emery fully deserves a big move, but I want to see him stay with Villa.
As for Emery, hes a solid manager. Loved having him at Arsenal although, it's sad how it ended. Right guy but at the wrong time i think. What he's done with Villa is incredible. My Dad is a Villa fan, so I've watched Villa A LOT in my lifetime and this version of Villa is probably the best I've seen in terms of an on-field identity.
Being a Chelsea fan i hope Southgate is chosen, i love a good laugh.
what's the transfer budget? it'll cost £500m getting rid of all the crap ten haag signed.
“Ten Hag came in with stability” I have never heard such nonsense in all my life
United's best choice for a winning manager, "Pep" Lijnders, has just started negotiations with RB Salzburg. He knows the league, knows the CL, has won the league and UCL, speaks english (and Dutch too like Ten Hag). He plays like Klopp and has 'Pep' in his name. Lastly, and more importantly, he is currently working in the UK so work permit shouldn't be an issue too.
If i were Conte and Tuchel i would stay away from MU😂😂
This is the problem they have now...who wants that job?
@@RoryJenningsFootballIt doesn’t matter, ETH deserves another season
@@RoryJenningsFootball tuchel wants the job
What? They are the biggest club in the world even Pep would love to manage them, wouldn't surprise me if Klopp has already made a deal after his year off to become manager. It's the dream job and if successful will be immortal and remembered forever at Liverpool or man city it will only matter to there fans no one else
United have some elder statesmen in the backline and have limited personnel going forward, where perhaps only a couple of the front 5 will hold down their spot. Up an coming young player and some veterans dotted around the midfield
The answer is Sean Dyche, but why would downgrade?
3mins in and Rory talking 💩.
Gareth Southgate won’t fall out with Sancho.
HE ALREADY DID MAN.
Gary O’Neil is the long term project they need
Yeah let's blame the manager again 😂 we have so many clueless fans that aren't real supporters. How many times you been old Trafford?
Why was the Palace match such a big deal? They've been shit for years

ETH came in with a bit of stability? Not sure how you can call commimg in after the Solksjear/Rangnick season commimg in 'with' stability
As a neutral I agree, United have been rolling down the hill.
For the record Sancho was sent home by the England during training. Why? It wasn't because of principles or he has the guts to stand up for what he believes...
The fans will turn on waistcoat by September. It will be toxic after 1 loss.
United fans have a tendency of sticking with their manager to be fair...

Zidane would be a dream for them but I say this respectfully...what on earth is in it for Zidane?
@@RoryJenningsFootball Zidane doesn't need United at all, you're right. They should at least try to get him though. If he says no, then move on.
Jennings is right the problem United fans think they need to be top even when their team is poor .look at Arsenal they went out of Europe football they reset themselves United fans can't accept that and that why they will kip struggling.

As a Manchester United supporter it's no surprise we feel sorry for every other club when they care about us mire than there own team and that when there team eins no one cares, its almost like supporting Manchester United is the only team to support that means anything to anyone.

Get your hands off Emery!!!
He's a don to Villa fans and he's got everything at Villa, he has the backing, he's got his sporting director
But can never win anything at Villa
Roy Hodgson!👍
I feel the only fix for this club is having fergie walk into the dressing room unplanned and teaching this group of players a lesson of professionalism and integrity. I feel it would wake the players up and humble them. Would love to see it.
Last push to 300k CMON RORY FELLA
Rory’s reasoning for southgate sounds exactly like what Chelsea needs then since they’re not good enough to challenge either right now
not really, cos the whole reason he said southgate is to bring some unity. Chelsea squad all get on and play for the manager
Southgate and poch are similar in the stability regard. Chelsea ain’t winning anything with poch at the helm
I love it how folk like Rory, with no in depth knowledge of UTD, make these arguments for and against which manager can fix things. The PLAYERS are the problem. Until 60% of the squad is replaced with better, stronger players, no manager in the world can make UTD competitive. Take Southgate at Chelsea if you think he's a decent candidate.
Be realistic, Emery has everything he wants at Villa as he calls the shots much like Ferguson did.
I reckon Steve Mclarren is worth a shout…
Over the course of a long season Southgate would get found out
united don't need a pep or a Klopp right now. They need a bridge between where we are and those type of managers. Howe, is a good example. Probs not a title challenger. But can take you from mediocrity and poor performance to a higher level.
Newcastle can become a challenger as soon as Newcastle gets more quality into the team.
Newcastle has a decent first 11, but the bench is shocking.
Tbf I think Ten Hag has just been really unlucky with injuries, and if they had not had a goal incorrectly ruled out against Arsenal then they'd probably have won the Champions League
Some of these takes are actually shocking. How can Hojland be a not great signing in his first year with absolutely no service as a 21 year old, he’s had 36 shots all season and one of the best conversion rates it doesn’t take a genius who watches football to see his potential. Rory tbinking Chelsea could get Emery but United can’t. Then talking about how Ten Hag has picked his players. 68 injuries he hasn’t had his players this year. It’s simple to see he needs another year
I've heard klopp is going after a short sabbatical .
"Zidane does not reawaken Man Utd" Bro Zidane left Madrid alongside Christiano, saw the club becoming a shamble through Lopetegui & Solari's tenures, returned to Madrid to rescue the club, got no signings in 20-21 season & still competed with Atletico till the last day of the season with 51 injuries.
This is who a Chelsea fan thinks should be the next Man U manager and here to help him discuss is a Liverpool fan.
Have people forget that we wanted a manager to come in and be strict with the players and get rid of the spoilt brats?
wow rory videos never disappoint with rogue takes
Haha. Anything specific stand out?
He probably will be as Radcliffe obviously wants it British and probably feels Southgate can get the players bonded as they obviously don't like each other but the real answer is getting rid of the players and keeping ETH
Rory will do anything but give chelsea and Poch credit for how well we are performing
I think the new low is the confirmation of the depths of toxicity in how some players view Rasmus and how they actively play around him. I have never heard anything like it. And I do think there is some truth to it as all season there have been complaints about them not passing to Rasmus, not passing the ball down thru the channels. They are actively working against the club 🤬
Amorim would be swalloed? Oh please, he would revolutionise united. He played professionally for 2 decades, went on to coaching without a degree and Sporting bought him for 10 MILLION. To be a coach! He’s turned Sporting into a scoring machine. You know fuck all about football. All you care about is big names, it’s like a popularity contest. Even Southgate was mentioned! Lmao
ten hag did the same at ajax, nearly got them to a ucl final and look at him now
@@mikeoxmells-grim5562 ten hag was a shit player and a fraud of a coach. Did you see the team he had? De jong, De Ligt, Blind, Onana, Ziyech, and many others who now play for much bigger clubs.
Personally I think EtH will be given until January.
BIG SAM!👍
LOVE this pairing!
Nice one mate
at the start of last season no one thought we would get top 4 let alone win a cup, in my opinion he well over achieved last year and reality has come crashing down on us this year. We need to let Jim Ratcliffe get the right people in and set some stability into the club off the pitch.
What about Man United legend STEVE BRUCE
If we want to be the kneeling Champions get Losergate. Rainbow laces abound.
Obsessed
It ain't Zidane either. He isn't taking over a world-class team full of pros. He needs to rebuild.
Hiw can you say he declared war on Sancho when he gave him multiple chances to sort himself out! Do you think that's the first time they had had words of course it wasn't. Eth even sent him away to get himself right for 3 months tell me another manager who's done anything like that in the prem, the revisionism in that statement is ridiculous
From saying sacking pochettino and talks about sacking eth 😅😂😂😂 typical chelsea fan
Southgate will most definitely get them relegated. As an Arsenal fan I would love it so very much if they do end up appointing him
I might be wrong, and appointing someone like Tuchel might be the fix we need. But if we did sack Ten Hag now, two years after his appointment, it would simply repeat the cycle we've had since Fergie left. How many two-year stints of mediocrity until we stick with a manager long-term? What if keeping the manager, and forcing the players to work for ETH, is the solution?
Fella from westham will be free end of season 🤔😂
No one gotta give ETH more time YANITED
I am sorry, and feel free to give me stick in what I about to say, but why does Zidane's name get linked to big club jobs like Man Utd and one point Liverpool.
Firstly, he has expressed no interest in managing in England and doesn't speak English.
And secondly when he was at Real Madrid he inherited a very good and experienced squad from Don Carlo Ancelotti.
I question whether Zidane has the tactical acumen as Ancelotti, Guardiola, Klopp and even Arteta.
The first viewer here, my opinion one more chance of Ten Hag or Unai Emery
Why would Unai downgrade?
It will not be Southgate. United will not go managerless until mid July after the season they just had. They’ll probably stick with ten Hag if he can avoid getting absolutely battered til the end of the season.
Southgate is just a worse version of Ole. Might as well get Ole back if you're gonna do that.
💯
We need to keep ten hag because the players cannot sack another manager and get a fresh start. Ten hag did great when the players where trying
Rory may I challenge you on one of your early statements in this video.
You said Man Utd have some class players. Who are they?
I find this topic a little confusing to answer But technically Garnacho and Martinez would probably both go for 40+ Mil
Bruno Fernandes, Kobe Mainoo, I rate Garnacho but everyone tells me I'm wrong!
@@RoryJenningsFootball I think those are very fair. However, only Bruno is a senior player and the other two are kids who are breaking into the scene. As bad as ETH is, I don't think even an amalgamation of Ferfuson, Sacchi, and Cruyff will get anything out of this group of players. I would love to know which players you think Man Utd should sell.
The only reason I dont like Man U is purely because of ETH, coz of what he did to Ronaldo
Southgate to United. Jordan Henderson with him. The world deserves this. 🙏
Its gonna be Ten Hag.
Give Ginger Ninja Moyes a second term!LOL😆😂😆
Yes he would fall out with Sancho as players that have not behaved under England he has frozen them out
Rory like this if poch should go
I think they should go for Diego simeone as I think he wouldn't put up with this players power and not playing for the manager
Nah Rory trying to sabotage us
Is Southgate not another Ole? A harmony guy that's close to winning but isnt
2 words. Ron. Atkinson.
no manager can make this utd team in the pl contenders its been to long, to many bad players they need a manager that can do a rebuild and doesnt blow the entire budget on 2 players. they need a arteta with a good DOF. when you look at the rebuild arsenal did they spend a lot of money but its only been recently they went 60m+ before it was a lot of 20-40m players a lot less risk with those. ten hag got himself stuck with 80m+ athony and 60m mount and 60m casemiro much harder to replace or add to it. but who that manager idk emery is prob the best shout in that sense but conte, tuchel are just adding to debtpile
We give Ten Haag his last season and take Carlo Ancelotti next season when he leaves Madrid and Alonso replaces him from Bayer Neverlosen 💯👀
Unai bottled it at Arsenal, he played cech in the uel final after cech agreed to go to chelsea as a coach
Unai’s beaten Arsenal home and away this season, largely with a group of players who were 17th in the League when he took them over. He eats Arteta for breakfast.
If the whole point of Southgate coming in is to stabilise the team, why don’t United just bring back Ole?? He stabilised the team and plays a lot more exciting football than Southgate.
Ole would not increase waistcoat sales. Think of the wider
issues at the club shop.
Yanited are creme de la creme of their own planet not earth 😂😂😂😂
If Yanited get Southgate they finish 12th 😂😂😂😂
I actually think this is some solid conversation. My bet is honestly Tuchel . Southgate is definitely high on there board tho
Cheers mate. Appreciated. Tuchel is probably the best bet looking through the lens of football...but he is also a perfectionist, do you think INEOS will want to work with someone who is so demanding and outspoken?
@@RoryJenningsFootballI personally think Tuchel would be a bad hire . His best qualities are how great he is in Europe and I’m gonna go on a limb and say Man United isn’t getting European Football next year .

5:24 if somebody told Rory “Chelsea needed to be redefined” he would be up in arms and demanding that not be the case and that Chelsea have standards, so I can’t believe he’s talking about anyone needing to be redefined and it’s Man United
Tbf Chelsea won the champions league 3 years ago. United won the champion league like 15 years ago?
@@Harry-df2kc I understand, but we’re he’s speaking like we’re Tottenham. we’ve still won 5 trophies post fergie, major or not. We compete *and win* it’s what we do and we should never be “redefining” that.
@@FreemindTv11 surely you should be redefined as the team who only wins minor trophies then

Safe hands in Southgate.

Utd first need stability and forget competing then later after 3 years bring a coach to win trophies
99% of utd fans understand and accept this.
The problem is the 1% still equates to a million loud twitter virgins who cry all the time.
Plus talksport and the sun would never leave Utd alone if they finished 6th, 5th, 3rd the way Arteta did for example.
I really want it to be Southgate, i think he would be a disaster. maybe stabilise them but only as europa conference league level
Sadly, logistically it just dosnt make sense.
INEOS are making logical decisions (so far). Hiring Southgate effective from late July (which realistically is the earliest he could start) makes absolutely zero sense.
Southgate also rubbished the links yesterday, when there is no reason why he would lie about it.
@@samwize28 i know, but it would be funny. shameit wont happen
