Megan Mixon's entry for the PTA's Reflections Contest. This year's theme was "Let Your Imagination Fly!"
Kiowa reflects the theme of “Let Your Imagination Fly!” in several different ways. For one, I had to get creative with how I could convey a simplistic story with model horses. Bringing emotion to a model that can’t move is difficult so I chose to do so through dialogue amongst the characters. The conversation between Bannock and Kiowa reflects the theme the most however. Bannock tells Kiowa to never rely on others and get where she wants to be on her own, a personal belief I have on success. I equate success to one’s ability to "fly".

Kiowa is a young filly who has been separated by her herd during a wildfire. She meets a lone horse that goes by the name of Bannock who agrees to help her find her family again.

This is really cool! I like the fact that it's centered on wild horses and how you conveyed their typical herd behaviors (bachelor bands, stallions kicking colts out of their harem at a certain age, etc.). Keep it up! :D

This was absolutely amazing. Honestly, the dialogue and the casting and just everything about this was absolutely astonishing! I have one question (if you don't mind) there's something I've never figured out how to do with my camera XD how do you get such a smooth focus transition? I've tried over and over and I can't figure it out 😂
I have to manually do it. Sometimes it's shaky because I get the shakes but overall it turns out wayyyy better than auto focus.
