I feel like this really minimizes the logistical nightmare of having thousands of pounds of rotting food everywhere. Can you imagine how many flies and rats would be attracted to the town? _And the smell_

I love how each country gets their own translation in a different language but for England they just made Sam have a British accent LOL
I feel like this is a nod to what actually happens a lot with animated flicks. That is the British version will have a character to redubbed simply to appeal to the UK audience. (Eg Shrek 2 swapped out Lary King as the barkeep for Jonathan Ross in the UK version)

flint yelling "snowball" and relentlessly hurling it at that kid, literally making him do a full backflip is still one of the funniest moments of the film. and then he has the audacity to keep going, while still yelling "snowball" every time. has me in laughing fits

As a kid - this was one of the best movies I’ve seen. Now it’s one of the best nostalgia triggers I’ve seen! (just in Case you don’t know, it’s movies that trigger nostalgia, not movies that make you mad. And if that’s not a real term, I don’t know what is…)

To this day I still laugh at the silly but small joke that Sam needs to be dubbed in an over the top English accent for the Brits.

Not to mention the other joke being that the “a la mode” line was removed perhaps hinting at script changes from American English, into British dubbed versions of media (which happened very frequently even in the 2009 when this came out. I recall some particular funny examples like how the British ver of Regular Show changed the words “he’s dead” into “he stopped being alive, in their version. True story)

Technically it's the people in the town plus that corrupt mayor constantly pressuring Flint with requests after request and the machine taking in more clouds and rain to cause food to be mutated. Those people were super greedy and screw them for putting the blame on Flint.
