Flint (Bill Hader) confronts Chester (Will Forte) who threatens to make food bars out of his friends. Chester creates holograms of himself to confuse Flint. But Flint uses his invention “Party-in-a-box” to expose him. As Chester runs away, he is eaten by a Cheespider.
What’s the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 about?
Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader), inventor of a machine that turns water into food discovers that his invention creates “foodimals”, food-animal hybrids living on his native island. Forced to leave it after a catastrophic food storm, he must return to destroy the machine and the living food-creatures and save once again the world. Chester V (Will Forte), his idol inventor, asks for his help and gives him a device of his own that will help Flint in doing so. Even though the mission was meant to be classified, Flint goes to the island with Sam (Anna Farris), his father Tim (James Caan), his pet monkey Steve (Neil Patrick Harris) and all his other friends. Chester learns the truth and does everything he can to separate them because he has his diabolical agenda of his own. Flint and his friends will do everything they can to save the island and his new inhabitants after discovering that they are in fact harmless.

I like how the entire movie tries to make out that the Foodimals are harmless creatures, then right at the end we see them eat a grown man whole like it's nothing.

Well, tbf getting shreded leaves quite a mess, swallowed whole with no munching at least leaves nothing to clean.

I don’t, he was selfish and careless and only used Flint and his friends to get FLDwhatyoumacallit, and even if he was a genius, he was too stupid to understand the difference between apes and monkeys, or the meaning of “Holograms”
Eariler in the fight, Flint said he be better off with friends rather than alone like Chester with Chester replying he isn't alone, he has holograms. The scene where he thinks his holograms can catch him is a way of showing how Chester really doesn't have friends to help him like Flint does and how Chester is wrong for thinking friends are useless. There are other Interpretations, I'd reccomend you check them out. Although the scene is still kinda dumb.

After his death a new CEO named Scarlett took over live corp. She choose to use different food instead of foodimals to make her new food bar H20. She was a better CEO than Chester v. By 2019 she became a mother of 5 kids. In 2049 she retired from live corp and her daughter took over live corp. In 2075, live corp continues to do friendly things and make better food bars than before.

How is it that Chester's holograms can hit Flint, but Flint can't hit them? There's further proof of this plot hole when Chester figures his holograms will save him, but he just phases through them. If they can hit solid matter, then they should have been able to catch him.
Perhaps the hard-light technology can only handle so much force before the holograms collapse?
The real Chester is the only physical one, the rest only get phased through. He keeps dipping offscreen so we can’t keep track of where the real is.
Dude those holograms didn't hit Flint that was real Chester. That is point of holograms. You can't tell which one is real Chester before he hits you.
Chester was fast on his feet and the holograms were there to misdirect Flint that way our hero couldn't tell which was until the party in the box was activated🎉🎉🎉🎉

It's much easier to notice someone darting around if the other copies are standing in one place. Plus, look at the first time Flint gets hit at 0:20. Flint is looking in the exact direction he got hit right after, but Chester manages to get behind him in just a second without Flint noticing at all.
