- There simply aren’t enough ways to express how much we adored the charming nautical town of Kinsale, Ireland! Just a few hours south of Dublin, perched on the Wild Atlantic Way, we spent 2.5 weeks in this dreamy, cozy, gourmet capital of Ireland. This vlog is not meant to be a full-on travel guide, it’s merely what we did, where we stayed (once-in-a-lifetime Airbnb alert!), and all the delicious food we enjoyed. We could not recommend Kinsale enough and it’s well worth visiting if you’re in Ireland and looking for places to see, stay, and eat. 😍😍😍

What part of our trip to Kinsale looked like the most fun to you? Are there other places in Ireland we need to put on our list to come back to later this year?

It's been 20 years since I lived in Kinsale ( 2001-04 ) and worked as the bartender at An Seanachai ( traditional Irish bar, unfortunatelly for years for sale ). This was the best time of my life. The people, friends, sounds, stories and love that never happens again. Since than I dream of coming back again. At least for one day. To see old places where we spent our evenings, kissed girls, listened to An Seanachai, played football, saved the boat from sinking, saved the bar from the flood, saved ourselves from the world that keeps on running. It's beeen good old times. These days will never be forgotten and I hope that some day I'll have a chance to return.
You'll be sad to learn that the pub has closed down and is now a shop 😔
@@DennisCollins79 yes I know. Actually one of only few which did not survive. On positive note I decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary since I left Kinsale and will be coming back in May to see how it changed ;)
Aawww, you two and your video ignited the travel bug in me! 🤗💗 Amazing AirBNB place, stunning sceneries, making friends with local wildlife 🦭🦭 and yummm, all that delicious food. The Zooks' stars guide will be a hit! 🤩
Hehe, so glad you enjoyed the video and we're definitely going to give the Michelin Guide a run for it's money 👩🏻🦰👨🏻🦲⭐️🏆😂. Thanks for the lovely comment, Monika!
That AirBnB is gorgeous and Kinsale looks like a green and blue gem, beautiful! The two of you deserve to enjoy all the goodness, thank you for sharing! 🤗
RIGHT!? Such a cool town and we can't wait to go back again to finish eating at every restaurant possible 🤣🤣. Thank YOU for such kind words, friend! 💖
Joan and I are thrilled you enjoyed your visit to the place we call home the Beautiful Town of Kinsale.Since we retired we travel and explore extensively with Homelink.
Keep on travelling.

Love it. Can’t wait to see where you’re off to next.
Woooooot! Thanks, Heidi 🥰. There might be a lot of 🌅s in our next video 😉.
Well, Kinsale is now on my list!!! Thanks for the great video and the food recommendations. I loved how happy and conversational you all are. It just felt like I was sitting there with you. ❤️
RIGHT!?? Kinsale is a must-visit in our minds and who has ever heard of it when thinking of visiting Ireland? 🤷😍 Thank you for the kind words and feeling like you're sitting there with us, that's exactly the vibe we're hoping for in these travel vids 🥰👋.
Obviously a bit off topic but the Battle of Kinsale 1601 is an apocalyptic event in Irish history, the conquest of Ireland, resulting in the collapse of Gaelic Ireland and the greatest diaspora until the Great Famine.
My first video with you! You both are delightful! Informative, well organized, and best of all ... FUN! I give you both 10 CZcamsrs!
Awwwwww, thanks James! 🥳
Kinsale looks lovely...especially with you both in it! Thanks for the adventure! 🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦
Alllllllll the seals! 😂❤️
Loved this video! You two have such a great dynamic on camera - can't wait to watch more from your adventures in Europe!
What a lovely, amazing, comment Riana 🥰🥰🥰! Thank you so much and we are so excited (and grateful 🙏) to be sharing this journey and having you come along with us.
I enjoy your travel videos so much 🤗 Thank you guys for keeping us updated on your adventures! I give this video 10/10 seals 🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭
Hahahah YESSSSS! Giving us a 🦭 rating back!?? AMAZING 😂💖⭐️
These videos are the best. So fun to follow your style of travel!
Yay, thanks friend! So glad you enjoyed this one and following our travels 💓👋
Definitely putting Kinsale on my list! I mean with 10 seals, feel like I have to😊 so delightful. The food and Airbnb had me sold.
RIGHT?? If it's a 10-seal spot, it's a MUST SEE 🦭😅! Hope you get to go there, Amanda!
You guys are so fun to watch!
Thank you friend! Hope you're doing well! We miss seeing your art on IG. 👋👋
enjoying your vlog journey thru Ireland. I first watched your visit to Ballybunion and now Kinsale. You are very professional and observe each location with fresh eyes. As an Irish man living in California for the past 40 odd years it makes me proud to see my homeland show itself in all its uniqueness and charm and give you a wonderful experience.
Awwww, this is an amazing comment to read, Eamonn! So glad to hear we are doing your country proud in our videos ❤️👋🇮🇪. Thank you so much for the kind words.
Wow you guys appear to really have enjoyed Kinsale , I ll have to try your recommended places , well done keep it going !
Looks like a great spot, so glad you two loved it.
Kinsale is suuuuuuuuch a good one. Can't recommend it enough to folks 😍.
Kinsale is suuuuuuuuch a good one. Can't recommend it enough to folks 😍.
Excellent, we're going as a family in September and like you I was mysteriously drawn having never heard of it but noticing it on the map when looking for places to stay. After booking I searched for Kinsale in videos to see what more I could find out, I was so pleased to find Rick Steves, you were the next in the list, hoorah! I've already fallen in love with Kinsale from afar, your video let me peek inside the restaurants I'm looking at on Tripadvisor so it was so helpful. I've also reconsidered not walking out to the fort after seeing the view, we will do that, thank you! Happy travels.
AMAZING! Both that our video was extremely helpful for ya AND that we were perched right next to Uncle Rick in CZcams's search results 😂😂😂. Have such a great time and enjoy Kinsale!
I live here and after watching your video i really realise how much for granted i take the place. I've grown up here and I'm so glad i have! Your video is fantastic, I'm an admin on the local noticeboard on Facebook so I'll share this video for everyone to see. Thank you for capturing my beautiful home town the way you did 🙂
Since you're well oriented what's going on in town maybe you could give me a hint how to find people in Kinsale? I lost my contacts and tried to find my friends. Unfortunatelly they're not on social media. Looked in different articles and only found my friend got married in 2010 but wasn't able to find a contact numer or address. I'll be obliged for any help. I'd like to meet them when I get back to Kinsale.
@@BobTac drop me a pm and I'll do anything I can to help you 👍
These videos are amazing, and you guys are awesome. I've been following along for years as a fellow business owner and loved Jason's mediocre baking series on Instagram. Can't wait to see more of your adventures!
Awwwww yayyyyy a mediocre baking fan! 😂😂 I've yet to try my hand at baking on our travels, but I've EATEN many baked goods 😅. Thanks so much for watching AND for the incredibly kind words, Megan 🥰💖. So excited to share more of our adventures with you!
Super fun video! It made me very hungry! ;-) Putting 10-seal Kinsale on my Irish travel list, for sure!
YUSSSSS! We really enjoy making people hungry 😅😂. Hope you make it to Kinsale sometime soon!
I will visit Kinsale in two days and oh god, I am so happy I found this video! You guys are so amazing, interesting and just pleasing to watch and listen. Thumb up and subscribe button clicked! Can't wait to see other vides :)
Awwwww that's awesome! 👏👏👏 Have a great time and please report back on if you check out any of our recs OR if you see Leonard or Lenora?? 🦭🦭😂
Love Ireland! I have such wonderful memories visiting various parts. So excited to see you both continue on your adventures.
Ireland is becoming a fast favorite of ours too! Do you have any must-see towns in case we come back later this year? 👀🇮🇪
@@WanderingAimfully Galway is a beautiful town and not far from the Cliffs of Moher and the Connemara. I took the train from Dublin to Galway which was a great way to view the countryside. If you wander north to Northern Ireland in May (or at some point in the summer) you can head to Rathlin Island to see the bird colonies - they have Puffins!
@@stinaintx you had me at PUFFINS!!! 😱😱😱 Thanks for the recs!
COBH County Cork, a hidden gem.

Brilliant video guys, I really enjoyed it, great presentation and wonderfully narrated.
Thanks so much, Dave! 🥰

I'm not sure where in Ireland the ladies family are from I thought Derry ? Why ? Because your the spitting image of my sister , you go on the same way lol different accent but same , love ye both 💕 I'm glad you changed your scoring card or you wouldn't be welcome here to your homeplace lol . I really love your vids my friend the man is so kind and honest I appreciate that god bless ye both ☘️
Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Yay, thanks so much! 🥰
Do ya know u can fly into Cork direct from most airports in euro land ... bein that my mum was born in belgooly.. jus outside kinsale.. we used to fly from Luton uk🎩®️©️🏴⚘
Such a fun and insightful video as always 🇮🇪 Curious to hear your experience with Irish prices now that you’ve traveled more through Europe? Always thought it was super-duper expensive 💰
Appreciate the love and kindness, friend 🥰🥰🥰. Honestly, we didn't find the Irish prices to be much higher than other countries in Europe. I would say Croatia and Portugal are definitely more affordable, but Ireland felt pretty on par with France, Greece, and our most recent stop 😘.
Looks so fun! Hope to go to Ireland at some point
You definitely should! 🇮🇪😍
I live in kinsale !
Great video guys... covering all that footage and promotion for the air b&b is hilarious 😂
What ever makes it cheaper 🙌💪🏻
Hahaha, the Airbnb didn't even know they were going to end up in a video 🤣🤷. Glad you enjoyed the video! Enjoy the farmer's market 🍕 for us next week 😍. Thanks for the kind comment!
Hi I actually live I kinsale in kinsale near where he are staying I all ways look all my friends I will I saw I hope u enjoyed
That's so fun, Isabelle! Kinsale is so wonderful, we really enjoyed our time there. You live in a special little town 😍👍.
@@WanderingAimfully Sorry I spelled everything so wrong sorry if ye can understand I hope u enjoyed 😉
Adding to my travel list for sure. Also, as previously mentioned, I live to eat too and I’m also always judging restaurants by whether or not I could take my kids there 😆 we get adventurous because we eat super early and figure it’s best to have them there during the pre-peak eating time.
Yessssss to adding this to your list! ✅ Early eating is where we THRIVE, so I can imagine when we have kids we might just be ordering dinner at 3pm everywhere 😂😂😂.
Fantastic video.
Thank you, Megan! 🥰
We just posted a vid on Kinsale... we had the pleasure to live there for 3 months. Enjoyed seeing it through your eyes.
That's so fun! 3 months is a great amount of time to eat at all the amazing restaurants 😂😂.
Really enjoying these videos. Love your personalities. Have watched your channel since Jason showed up on Matt’s channel in a penguin suit.
Awwww, thanks Tony ❤️🥰🐧 (it's Jason 👋). This comment means a ton to us and we're happy you're enjoying our vids!
Thanks so much for this video! I’m considering going to Kinsale in a few weeks. Did you guys eat at Fishy Fishy while you were there? Wondering how it compared to the restaurants you mentioned in the video. Thanks!
You are so welcome, Jessica 🤗! Okay, so, 100% real-talk: Fishy Fishy is... fine. We ate there. It was a solid meal, especially if you love seafood, you will probably enjoy it. We are NOT big seafood people, so it's not really our ideal spot. If you only had a few meals to eat in Kinsale, we would choose Finn's Farmcut and Supper Club over Fishy Fishy. But, that's just our preference, you might love Fishy Fishy if seafood is higher on your list. Hope that helps and let us know if you do make it to Kinsale and how our recs hold up 😍😇.
Love Fishy Fishy❤️ such good food!
Thanks guys from all traders in Kinsale ❤
omg I live in kinsale and at 5:04 minutes in the video my dog is there ! hope ye hade a great time:)
No way, Caroline!!! 😂😂😂 We DID have a great time and your pups looked like they did too 😍👋.
Ah, man!! You didn't go to Fishy Fishy???? That's my favourite restaurant in Kinsale but then I LOOOOVE Fish & Seafood! 😋
Did you end up going to Galway at all? That is one of the coolest cities in Ireland I think... and what about Dingle - the cutest, funkiest town in Ireland.....
We DID go to Fishy Fishy! Honestly, it wasn't as good as the other spots we found, plus most people already know about it/talk about it 😂. It *wasn't* bad, at all! Just, we preferred some of the other places to it (like Finns' Farmcut 😍😍).
We did go to Galway, but it was a really rainy day, so it wasn't as enjoyable as it probably could've been. Didn't make it to Dingle, even though the coffee shop "A Bean in Dingle" was high on my list for their cinnamon buns 🤣.
Love an miss my times thr... visit nohoval... I was Christened thr ... my auntie owns a massive bungalow right next to Charles fort
If you want to come back in June(?) Ireland is hosting the world potato congress! They crush it with the salad options though - so tasty! Shocked you found good pizza, too : )
THE POTATO CONGRESS!?!?!? Omg, I think Caroline might have found her home to retire to.
Nooise! 😂❤
Thanks!
Awwwww, thank you soooo much! 🥰❤️
Fallon that tv guy in the US, his relations come from kinsale, he mentioned it a few times on tv
We were there in October. How did you get so many shots without people. Streets were packed when I was there!
Hi Holly! We were there in February, which is definitely the low season 😉. Hope you had a good time in October!
Kensale was our favorite.
Glad you've been able to experience the magic of Kinsale as well! Such a lovely little town we hope to come back to again 💚.
great content
Thank you so much! 👍👍
@@WanderingAimfully you're welcome. keep up the great work guys.
You'll also have know how to walk. When you walk in traffic, you're going to bump to a lot of people. Because Irish people walk like they drive. Do you get that? You'll encounter it soon.
In any large or middling or large town/city. In my work I took the train into Cork City. (lived in Cobh) Took me about one or two months to acclimate.
I wanna take my trouble to see Ireland 🇮🇪...(trouble and strife.. yeah im from Luton)🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯🎩®️©️🏴⚘
I proposed at Fort James ☺
That's SO FUN, Ross! What a great place for that 😍😍
Oh hey! :) First one to comment :D
Ohhhhhh heyyyyyyyyyy 👋👋
Not vegan anymore I take it? Was it too hard when travelling ?
Hi Kate 👋. We actually stopped eating vegan in 2019 after Caroline had the worst year of mental and physical health she's ever had. She ended up getting her bloodwork done and found a lot of her vitamin levels were WAY out of whack. Like, off the charts bad. After multiple tests, doctors, and even going on a ton of supplements, she found that eating animal protein again actually gave her body the vitamins and minerals it needed. Within a few months, she started to feel herself again and we're so grateful for that. We loooove the idea of veganism, but unfortunately it's not a one-size-fits-all diet for everyone's bodies 😕.
@@WanderingAimfully Hope she's feeling better. I wish you had had a trigger warning for videos of meat/fish! I am careful in who I follow, omnivore friends know I unfollow them if that's what they want to post - totally their right to post pics of their meat/fish/dairy/eggs food & my right to avoid seeing it. Normally I skip right past any parts of videos if there's going to be non-vegan food shown.. my mistake here as I haven't followed you guys for ages so I didn't realise you weren't plant based any longer. Goodness I didn't want to see that!
Did you figure out what bed it is? If so, share the deets!
OH, you know I figured it out! The bed is this exact one from Bo Concept (with a different headboard): www.boconcept.com/en-us/houston/37860CBDCW40300.html
The info we all have been waiting for 🤣
I seriously never go into comments and I went here immediately to see if we got the bed info 😅. Thanks for the recon! These videos have been the favorite part of my day when they come out
Thank you for sharing the bed link!! Did you find out what the mattress was?
Finders inn nohoval ... kinsale
The places u recommended...did they have veg options ?
Hey there, Vidhi! You'll have to check the menus, but we've found that almost ALL restaurants these days (unless specifically a meat-focused spot like Finn's Farmcuts) will have veggie options ❤️🌱.
Probably thee most disconnected people i have ever watched in my life the ignorance is so prevalent here
Thanks!
Awwwwww thanks so much, Gerry! 🥰
