      About 400c, and I use 60/40 tin lead flux core solder, 1mm diameter.

    Why did you skip the disassembly? I have Model 9876L which has no screws showing, so I'm assuming that I have to open the casing with a knife edge, which often destroys it when you don't know exactly how it is held together.

    • @TheAussieRepairGuy
      @TheAussieRepairGuy  Před 8 měsíci +1

      See 14:00 onwards for re-assembly, might help you understand how it went together.
      So I got out of bed just to look this up, I never recorded the disassembly, there are 5 very obvious phillips screws under the lower cover.
      separate the silver bit from the black bit and they will be very obvious, DO NOT try to pry the whole unit apart.

      @@TheAussieRepairGuy thank you for this video! I didn't think the black part was under the silver, I thought it can off to expose screws. I have the same issue, where to insert a pry tool without wrecking the clipper, while examining frame 12:52 I saw the black plastic fingers in the cutter end that cold be pried out to start the cover reveal, a pry in the lower part of the switch hole and prying out on the silver cover at the charger end got it off.

    just replaced the battery on mine and something interesting happens. After 15 minutes of charging the blue LEd switches off. How come is this happening? I''m sure it would take longer than 15 minutes to recharge a battery. Any ideas? Cool video by the way, it is very helpful.

    • @TheAussieRepairGuy
      @TheAussieRepairGuy  Před rokem +1

      It could be that the newer battery is alreasy partially charged. New batteries iften need to be discharged a couple of times to reach design capacity.

    • @miguelfernandes333
      @miguelfernandes333 Před rokem

      @@TheAussieRepairGuy you could be right, it was partially charged I fully discharged it. Still, something is off. The motor might not be working that well as the change of battery didn't seem to help that much, it feels slower and rotating at a lower frequency than my new Wahl Beret.

      Sounds like retaining clip. I don't have these in my posession anymore, and I'm not an expert on them. My suggestion would be to assemble the unit until it becomes obvious where that part belongs.
