Are you looking for the best Maya ruins to visit? In this video, we compare Tulum and Coba, two of the most popular ruins in the Maya area.
We'll explore the history and the importance of each ruin, before taking you on a sacred shaman ceremony in Cenote Yaxmul. This cenote is said to be the home of the Mayan goddess of the waters, and is a must-see for anyone visiting the Maya ruins. So which ruin is the best? You be the judge! My tour was gifted but all opinions are my own.

Everything was amazing. My favourite was definitely Tulum near the beach, Mayan cuisine, Mayan ritual and Cenote. Cenote is absolutely beautiful to spend more time to enjoy.

The Cenote looked amazing and I'd love to visit something similar in the future. Also seeing ancient architecture always makes me think about the people that actually built and used the structure and what their lives must have been like. So cool and thank you for sharing!

YES!!, each civilization was different due to their location. When you get to sites like uxmal, where they strategically built their city far from water sources, they had to develop waterway systems.
The history of each was fascinating. You’d want to hire a guide to appreciate each site, bc the Mayans were brilliant scientists .

Best content I've ever seen. My favourite is definitely Tulum because of the Mayan temples but the location near the beach which was beautiful. Then the Mayan cuisine which looks so delicious and Mayan ritual with respect to Mayan culture and last is the Cenote the beautiful waters and caves. Big thumbs-up 👍.

Tolum was very scientific, the wind tunnels would whistle at a certain wind speed and warn those more inland of the oncoming storm or hurricane.

Great video. I love the magical cenotes. The cenotes and ruins seem better for adults, but do you think families with children would also feel able to enjoy? I want to take my kids to experience and explore the rich history of the ruins without being overwhelming. With your experience
Do you think Coba, Tulum or Ek Balam would be best?
    TIA
    Keep adventuring Grrrrl!

Highly recommend the @alltournative experience for a more sustainable/safe cultural family fun. They have diff eco parks to enjoy and a cool Tulum/cenote experience I wish I did. See if it includes families and what the ages are. They may be able to integrate less conceptual information and more handson. Tulum is more visual + there’s resident iguanas.

Loved the diversity of the experiences-something for all of the senses! However, the Cenote seemed to be particularly special. I must return to Mexico to take part in that ritual.

Okay, now I might not be so afraid to go to some of the areas in Mexico! I think my favorite of this video was Tulum, because of the beaches! Would you have been able to swim at those beaches if you wanted to? Maybe after the tour or something. They look really beautiful. The food also looks VERY delicious, too. All in all, everything looked like it would be a great time, especially learning about the history of these sites, along with the differences between them. Thank you for sharing, Christine! ❤

    • @grrrltraveler
      @grrrltraveler  Před rokem +1

YES! You can swim and tan on the beach although you’d have to go outside the park and enter the public area. I think I read that beach has an entry fee due to the fact it’s close to Tulum. But I hear it’s a stunner of a beach 🏖️
I kinda passed on a lot of beach things due to the fact this region of Mexico is known for their cenotes so I wanted to make use of what I couldn’t enjoy when I left. But lots of wonderful beaches here. Bacalar is one I wish I had time for- it’s unique as well.

Glad it was helpful! Darn - I wonder what happened I just went with them this February. Websites are funny - it could be their server, maybe they didn’t pay their bill, or someone’s reported their content for controversy. The last I spoke to them they were heavily working on their social media.
Did you try contacting them via social media?

      My fave was Coba 🥰
