Then again, it’s hard to keep track of all 53 names on one specific team. How many people can really fire off the names of all these backups?
Despite the lack of recognition, though, being a backup isn’t a half-bad job. You make good money to simply watch from the sidelines. And if you’re in the right place at the right time, you can get yourself a Super Bowl ring without having to contribute much of anything.

Tyrod Taylor was not just a Ravens backup QB. He was a valuable learning tool for the defense who had never faced a QB like Colin Kaepernick before.
Very underrated point. Similar thing happened in the 2019 playoffs. The Titans utilized Marcus Mariota in order to practice the defensive schemes they'd use against Lamar Jackson. Safe to say it worked that game. Lol

@@codyray5469 honestly many people will point to the benching of Butler to the reason they lost, but I think the biggest mistake Belichick made during that time was trading Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins. Jones was still balling for years in Arizona and he ended up bringing Collins back years later anyway. Having a pass rush would have helped the Patriots a lot in that super bowl. There was definitely a void after Ninkovich retired. It’s really amazing they even made the super bowl with that defense.
Maybe Jalen Hurts and Devonte Smith change that.

Kenjon Barner a RB from U of O has three rings. He was on New England then Eagles and is now on Tampa. In 9 seasons he only has 416 total yards.

No, when I think of Super Bowl champion, I don’t think of someone who’s only ring is from 12 years ago. That’s like saying when I think of MVP I think of Adrian Peterson
It's also interesting how many other people in an organization get a super bowl ring (usually a less flashy, cheaper version). If the team is generous enough, even people like the team cooks may very well get a ring.
