    The NFL is high stakes competition. There’s no two ways about it…
    The old adage in the NFL is that-if you want to win a Super Bowl, you need an elite quarterback to help you do it.
    And while we have seen a few teams over the years overcome the odds-I’m look at you Trent Dilfer-led Ravens… the reality is that more often than not-if you don’t have a stud under center, you are going to come up short when it matters most.
    In fact, some teams that had loaded rosters-studs all over the field-didn’t even reach the Super Bowl because their signal caller let them down.
    Let’s take a look back at 10 NFL teams that were utterly let down by their quarterback… and would have won a Super Bowl if their QB didn’t STINK!

    Trubisky actually played well in the loss to the Eagles. It came down to a FG and it was partially blocked. Trubisky threw for about 300 yds and led the drive to get the Bears into FG range.

      Yeah not a Bears fan but someone who actually watches football and not bias can actually see when it's the QB or coaches fault. For example, Tannehill was playing good for the Titans these past few seasons but his stock shot way down after that horrible performance by him. Or Wentz who actually played really well this season but that lost to the Jags was not only on him but really the whole team and coaches. Still surprised that they barely ran that ball. A game they were supposed to win. So yeah my point Trubisky got screwed in my opinion

      Both years the receiving core was below average, not to mention the below average oline They have a stud multi positional receiver/slot/runningback player and a bunch of below average receivers who dropped alot in playoffs. Jimmy did execute vs rams in week 18 to pass for a td with seconds left to tie it. Also in a bad weathered game vs green Bay drove down and won it.
      Unfortunately vs rams the second time the offensive line choked at the end of the game. And for some odd reason Jimmy gets the blame.

    • @jackwilson5152
      @jackwilson5152 Před 2 lety +2

      @@mrnotnice2605 taking the sack would have been a guaranteed loss. They aren't going to convert a 4th and 20, especially not with that receiving core and the oline giving half a second to pass. Unless you think Rams would have kindly intentionally let 49ers get the first down.
      Jimmy had no logical choice but to toss it up for the receiver to try and make a nice catch, so they have a shorter field on 4th. But instead the receiver just popped it up for the defense to get an int.

    • @ninjaundermyskin
      @ninjaundermyskin Před 2 lety

      @@jackwilson5152 your take is easily more insightful than mine. But it wasn't just the last drive. Jimmy threw several incomplete passes to the sideline that should have been picked off, and other bad passes (across multiple games) that were picked off. I heard this on Grant Cohn's channel: he's like an arsonist and a fire firefighter. He puts the team into difficult situations, and then sometimes he plays the hero at the end. A consistently decent performance would be more beneficial (I really don't want to say it, but, maybe someone like Kirk Cousins?)

      Right on with your first point. QBs are very important but I do get tired of saying so and so is better than QB A because they have more wins or rings. It takes all the guys on a team to win a Super Bowl. In my opinion you could be the great QB ever and never win a ring if the team around isn’t good. (Best real like example is Drew Brees. By far the best statical QB but only ever had a SB winning team around him a couple of times in his prime. Saint wasted most of it with a bottom of the league defense and lower end WRs. If only prime Brees was on the Saints now)

    Collins Shouldn’t be on this list. He drove the Titans in the Ravens game twice into the redzone only for someone to fumble the ball away. If you take away at least one of those fumbles that game goes to OT with a Field Goal, Win with a Touchdown. If you take away both fumbles that weren’t his fault they would’ve kicked two field goals at the least and that would’ve been enought to win. Not to mention that Joe Flacco got away with a blatant delay of game on the game winning drive on a pivotal play. Also Chris Johnson got knocked out early and the offense was really designed around him. The Ravens couldn’t stop him in the first quarter and if had played the whole game there is no question they would’ve won that game. Also Rob Bironas missed a field goal which is important cause they lost by 3 points. Also Joe Flacco got lucky on three yolo balls that were pretty much the ravens entire offense for the day. All 3 of then were extremely lucky and the 3rd one to Todd Heap shouldn’t have counted because like I said before the play clock was at 0. The Titans were without there starting center which led to a botched 4th down attempt that turned the ball over. This also hurt the protection for Collins all day. Not only did Jeff Fischer make an idiotic decision to go for it on 4th and 8 against an incredible Ravens defense but he also inexplicably decided not to go for it on 4th and 1 with a great power back like White in the backfield.

    2017 Jaguars Blake Bortles was average a 10-6 record AFC South champs narrowing beating Bills in wild card and upset to Steelers 45-42, up 20-10 to New England in AFC Championship and blew it because of Blake Bortles, 24-20,the Jaguars defense can't do all the job, the QB has to do something,who knows the Jaguars would of beat the Eagles or Vikings(if had better qb, rather than Case Kennum)in Super Bowl 52.The Jaguars wouldve maybe been Super Bowl Champs and maybe not go through what they have been in recent year, no one really knows

    Man I hate saying this because it's my home team and the team I have gone for my entire life. 2022, the New Orleans Saints. We had one of the best, if NOT the best defense in the NFL this past year. Granted we were pledged by injuries all year, but what team isnt? Winston getting hurt and our Swiss Army Knife Hill, we couldn't get it together.
    Back in the 80's the Dome Patrol was awesome and I dont even know how many games that Mortan Anderson won by himself.
    I remember sitting there in the livingroom with my momma and seeing her face. She was so happy that day. We were playing the Detroit Lions and beat them 45 to 27. This was the kickoff to the 1st game of the 2009 season. I will remember this game more then any other game for the rest of my life. My mother the biggest fan for the Saints. This would be the last game that I would see with her again. I remember giving my momma a kiss bye and telling her that I loved her. I had NO idea this would be the last time I would see her alive again. She passed away in her sleep that night. The Saints biggest fan wouldn't live to watch the Saints bring home a Superbowl win. When she died we were 1 and 0 and undefeated. I remember laughing when the game was almost over. I told her that, hey momma, enjoy it the Saints are undefeated!!!! She gave me the dirtiest look ever and said, yeah you might be right. Lol. Man I miss that woman!!! If you have lost your parent or like me parents, I am sorry. That is a hard loss. If you still have your parents, give them a hug and make sure you let them know you love them. You never know, that moment right then could be that last moment you ever see them alive again. Peace out.

And I loved Morton, but, single-handedly caused the Broncos to lose that game. Didn't help they got a bad call on Butch Johnson TD. 1990-91 Giants/2000 Ravens showed how to win with a poor QB

    Without doubt, the best team with the worst quarterback was the 1971 Vikings. When they cut Joe Kapp for asking for money, they went with their second-string QB, Gary Cuozzo, who was a dentist in the off-season. Played like it, too. Every single drive started with a run up the middle, a run wide, and a pass. Then, usually, a punt. That was maybe the best defense in the history of the NFL, but Cuozzo phoned it in.

Slash was a good player who ran into a brick wall defense at an inopportune time while O'Donnell threw the two worst picks in Super Bowl history which cost the Steelers a go-ahead drive and then threw four consecutive incompletions which killed their chances at a comeback

    Kordell Stewart doesnt deserve any gruff, he made things happen, when the play was breaking down. He even played WR at points. So maybe it wasnt entirely his fault, maybe his teams head office should have given him better players around him....let's just not talk about his short stint with Balty👀. His tank was definitely on E when he was there.
    Just like I completely ignore my Titans and the Collins era....that never happened lmao.
