This is kinda just directed into the void but in case anyone needs to hear it, there’s lots of us out there who understand.
Being in an environment of people who think there’s something wrong with you just for being yourself can be spooky and just really isolating but the number of people who will love, and accept, and protect you for who you are far outnumbers the people who will try to make you pretend to be someone you’re not. Even if it doesn’t always feel that way. Things will get better.
To any trans people reading this who are having a rough time, no matter in what way, please try and reach out to your local lgbt+ community, look up if there are any local meetups or scenes. Having people in your life who can support and affirm you is seriously important to your mental health

Jeez that part about the trans person made me sick to my stomach. that's so awful to go through, they deserve to be treated better. what a sick family.
What's even crazier Is that the person that texted her thought that they were actually extending a helping hand.
They really thought they were doing good.
That text is a torch to a bridge that will inevitably be burned down if her family doesn't get their heads out of their asses and realize that they are all sinners as well and are executing gross self-righteousness while demonizing her in the process.

I come from that religeous type of background and the thing is, sadly, I dont think you will ever change their negative view of you. You will never be able to move past their "desire to just help you with ypur sin". They're literally trained to constantly find ways to "help encourage" and "insert god" in every interaction and conversation with you once they find out. I'd encourage anyone dealing with this to draw a line and ask them clearly if they will simply accept who you are. If they can't or try to worm an explanation as to how they do "really love you", even though they they believe you're "living in sin", you're better just leaving them behind. It's just trauma and a burden of a guilt-based system that is not benificial to your personal growth as a person. Leave them and find friends that will actually care, accept, and love you for who you are. People who bring out the best in you and don't try to make you into their image.

It's just disrespectful to the institution of marriage. Turning "I will stay with you through everything, until death do us part" into "let's try this for 8 weeks and see where it goes." just deletes the entire point of marriage.
If you want to try something for 8 weeks, just date. What is even the point of getting married if you don't care about what it represents?

As another trans girl with a not very accepting family i feel so fucking bad for that girl
Loved this episode! I hope everyone who sent in their stories are doing okay...
I feel like I missed something about one of the stories prior to the bit about him “not knowing if he wants to be in a relationship “ because at that point I was on qt and mayas page in thinking “yeah break up with him”. But prior to that bit it felt like she was making unreasonable demands telling him that he needs to drop “I love you” by thanksgiving, and that just screams insecurity (maybe not the right word). My main point is if you have to set a deadline for that, maybe the problem wasn’t him, but her? For some people that’s a major step in a relationship, and a deeply fearful time for someone. I’ve seen people (and myself) drop that word and then just immediately get shut down.
For further clarification after he wasn’t sure he wanted to be in a relationship anymore then yes by all means break up with him, but setting ultimatums for the “I love you” is a bit toxic imo.

"robert" has the emotional maturity of a rock, probably why he had sketchy relationships, but the girl saying I love you and pushing him to say it back is CRAAZZYYYY, what does "i love you" means when someone is saying because of pressure ? she has ALOT of maturing to do as well

I am only at the beginning of the episode where you talk about the Married at First Sight Franchise. They are big yikes. They have had multiple law suits over mismatching people for drama. I believe in NC, one of the women was unable to get a divorce from this truly awful guy because he is scared for himself. I hope she was able to get it by this point, but she spent so much emotion, money, and time into the situation.
The last story really seems like an outside looking in perspective. My cousin married at 20 and she is a stay at home wife (recently mother) and against every one advising her not to rush into things it’s what she’s always wanted. While I may think it’s a weird and cringe dynamic for couples to have (the gender roles of provider and home maker) if she’s happy that’s all that matters.
I always say if your relationship feels more like a movie, or a dream then its probably time to reevaluate it

I don't have any allies within except my younger sibling. But, I'm glad that i have great friends. Me and my sibling just don't talk to our family, we both chose our own! We're each other's only biological family

A friend of mine who i still have a crush on ( was into me at the same time i was into her and we where kinda dating for like a month , long story she friendzoned mebut its all good we're really good friends) said that she has a crush on this guy that goes to her workplace some times (gym) and that he just ignores her and doesnt want her or even acknoledge her existence and she is just delirious and told me that shes been deppressed this last couple of weeks because of that, like girl you are at you're peak right now if he doesn't see that it is his loss not yours
I worry about her and care about her and maybe even still love her but its not about me wanting her to be with me i just want her to be happy and support her through this hard time, i wanna help her get over this asshole guy but i just don't know how, i asked her to hangout this weekend in an attempt to cheer her up it may or may not even happen but still i wanna be their for her for whatever she needs
