    I've come around to loving the fake marina. If they had trucked in real water for that pool, it would've felt a bit ridiculous. Like, trying too hard to replicate Monaco. Fun fact, the original plan was on the streets of Miami Beach, which didn't work out, then they tried doing a race on the streets of downtown Miami, which didn't work out either, and they even tried racing at homestead using the infield road course and that didn't work out, so they settled on hard rock.

    Miami weather can be interesting - all sunny, then 10 minutes of torrential downpour, then sunny again. Go figure. This race should really be at Seabring. Another parking lot race like Monaco. The overall environment will be great given the location but I hope the racing action lives up to that.

  • @JCLorenzo95
    @JCLorenzo95 Před 2 lety

    i kinda like the layout of the track; you have 2 long speed traps with DRS and heavy breaking zone, good. A fast sector 1 with some fast S turns, plus the end of the second sector reminds me of Barcelona+sochi track layout, but smaller, its the slowest part of the track which i think is ok since we have a long straight before and after the slowest part of the track, you chill after the first one and then enter the second one. The last 2 turns before the main straight look like the might be medium speed corners, so with DRS in the mid size main straight it might be possible to get close to car ahead and try to keep in distance during the first sector.
    To sum it all, it looks good, better than those 90° shit we have seen lately (sochi, etc .). i hope we have great race.

    I hope y'all get to experience some of Florida's rainstorms.
    At least here in Orlando we usually get 1 storm that comes by around the same time every day to the point you could time a watch to it lol. Then u get the random ones where just one cloud will come by and piss water like u wouldn't believe lmao.
    Funny thing is, most Floridians actually don't own an umbrella either, we some how manage to just naturally move around the weather without even checking the forecast lol.

    As an American let me tell you about the weather. In the southern USA spring through fall there's over a 50% chance you'll have rain for maybe an hour in the afternoon. Usually starts about 3:00-5:00. It's like clockwork.

    But regarding the Miami circuit... I feel like I'm excited more because of the looks of it [Because It's Miami, Miami Vice or Vice City for some folks, the latter being for a guy like me] But in terms of racing... I don't know, we shall see. I don't expect much about it, but yet I would be pleasantly surprised to be proved wrong.

  • @Gordanovich02

    Not only does it go under a public road, it also crosses over public roads twice; on the first long straight and also immediately before the super-tight chicane. Fortunately (or unfortunately, if you like chaos) it looks like they've laid the racing surface across the roads, so there should be no appreciable bump.

    • @janematthews9087
      @janematthews9087 Před 2 lety +4

      TBF they kinda have to. There's been a steady increase of 40-50 year old demographic that is starting to watch the races for the last 4 years. If you grow that demographic into the over 50 crowd, then you'll have a solid loyal fanbase that you can sell subscriptions to and not worry about them dropping if/when the price increases(either through cable packages or online subscription) Meanwhile, the coveted 18-32 demographic is a blip at the moment, but hopefully catering it towards places teens go to for vacations (Las Vegas has always been a hot Convention destination. Texas used to be, until they started to devolve back into pre-colonial settlement politics. Miami is where a sizable chunk of spring breakers go to.) will mean they'll think about going to a race weekend.
      Drive to Survive is a really effective tool. They'd be a fool not to take advantage if it.

    • @xXRazorbacksXx
      @xXRazorbacksXx Před 2 lety +3

      From an American perspective, it's kinda working. This is my first full season of F1. Haas was vital in getting initial interest from me and I think a successful American team is paramount to growing the motorsport here. Drive to Survive wasn't what got me into F1, but it has definitely been a huge success in terms of getting Americans to talk about F1. More of that would work in F1's favor over here.
      I will say I think F1 is in a really good spot moving forward. There's a ton of driver personality right now. Add that to last year's finish and all the parity with the rule changes and you have guys like me who couldn't have named a single driver two years ago waking up at the butt crack of dawn to make sure they don't miss a race.
