- Russia’s Federal Security Service revealed that the suspects told the interrogators that they were promised money and two escape route plans into Ukraine by the handlers after the Crocus City Hall attack. Attackers on camera said they were ‘following instructions from handler Sayfullo’. Now, the FSB is working on determining the identity of the handler named Sayfullo.

When they failed, some did not return to their countries of origin, but remained in Belarus expecting to get another opportunity later, probably to slip into Ukraine and then try to cross into Poland during the early days of the attack on Ukraine. There were many non-Ukrainians who came to the Polish border, but had "lost" their documentation. They claimed to be Ukrainians, but didn't know where in Ukraine they had lived, no address, no work location, forgot the name of their neighbors, didn't know where they bought food...
