    OU played NU tough. I felt badly for Gary Gibbs. I thought he was good guy and a good coach. He just didn't have Barry's flair That helps in recruiting.

    It must be the weather and fatigue that cause this game to be identical to the 2012 Nebraska versus Iowa game.

    Why was Nebraska passing the ball with 20 seconds left and the lead?

      Because Osborne was desperate to try and cover up the fact that Penn State was way better than this Husker team. Unfortunately, the media bought in.

      Practice in a game situation against a good team.

    John Blake was much worse than Gibbs

    @cedriclovesaaron - I agree that he failed to retain Switzer's successes but that wasn't my point. He should have been allowed to leave with grace - not with the wrath of the Sooner Nation breathing down him. It was sad. He did nothing to deserve that. This wasn't a Gary Barnett situation.

      I thought Garry Gibbs was a good coach and that was before the bad years

      Had he inherited the program under better circumstances he would probably have been more successful i.e. Lincoln Riley after Stoops retired.

    Osborne watched Gibbs fail, then still decided, three years later, that the best thing he could do would be to name the Loyal Assistant as his successor.

      Solich didn't inherit a program on probation. Nebraska just couldn't keep up with OU and texas in the Big 12 when they both got good.

      Solich’s 1999 Cornhuskers were probably the best team in the country by season’s end. They finished 12-1 and Number 2 in the country. If there had been a college football playoff in 1999, Nebraska would have definitely played for a National Title.

    @AUgrad00 thats the nature of the beast. How would u know anyway what happened what went on at Okla ? Ur an Auburn grad in 2000. He won 2 games in 5 years vs Texas, Neb, and Colorado. I agree about the fans as I said earlier. Why don't you go flap your gums to those who did that shit? Like that doesn't go on in Alabama. Please!

    @AUgrad00 Před 14 lety

    @cedriclovesaaron Disagree your pretty much a loser if you pull
    some stunt like putting signs in a coaches front yard.
    Honestly anyone who does that crap needs to get a life.

      Never say never. They said the same thing about Oklahoma being dead in the 90s, and then they came back.
