By far the greatest offense to Grace the gridiron EVER!! how we lost to Florida in the national championship still has me baffled! The stars really aligned for Tebow that night.
That was the year of the 3-way tie in the Big 12 South. All texas had to do was make one of two plays against tech on their last drive, and they couldn't make either one. It they'd have made one of those two plays, that 3-way tie wouldn't have happened. It was a great year, just ended on a sour note. Anyone who says a loss doesn't tarnish a year like we had never lost a BCS Championship game. If we'd have had DeMarco Murray in that game, who knows how it might have turned out? People judge you on how you do in the postseason, not in the regular season. I've been an OU fan all my life, and I'm sure a lot of OU fans share my frustration. There's probably OU fans who have jumped off the bandwagon, and, in a way, I can't say I'd blame them. It sucks. We're still a tier below LSU, Clemson Alabama, Ohio State and whoever else you want to put in that tier. I don't know if we'll ever catch them, but I hope the Playoff Selection Committee learns their lesson next year& forever. How could they put us in there when they saw the way we finished 5 of our last 6 games? It wouldn't have mattered, though, who they put in there; it would have been a bloodbath. I'm just saying Riley should have forfeited at halftime. There should be a mercy rule in college football. There's one in college softball.
ya im pretty sure mack choked against tech who ended up being a bust. i didnt think that one player could single handedly beat a team but texas and michael crabtree proved me wrong... who by the way had like two short catches against OU. lol
I'm not a OU fan but Oklahomas offense is so fun to watch. It's almost like clock work they literally go down the field and score at will. No other team did that last year and I think that's why they got the nod ahead of Texas. You gotta give Florida credit to hold this team to 14 was remarkable, Oklahoma didn't choke like everyone keeps saying...... Florida just flat out won the game by great defense and marginal offense. MY OPINION. Great video btw
yea plus we got the #3 qb in the country going to OU, and we have some GREAT recruits.. im looking for next year to be pretty good and the year after that we'll be a BCS team.. Sooner
Man, and Sam was only a soph when he finished. (Junior season basically doesnt count, that was Landry Jones' year). Arguably the best QB in Oklahoma history.
um..... OU has more national merit scholars per capita than any d-1 school. Look it up. You guys shouldn't be bringing academics into a sports thread anyway. They are both good schools, OU just has 6 divisional titles in 9 years.
Agreed. Even though it was ALSO because of horrible referee's (as always with ou) and horrible coaching. Running the ball three straight times to try and score? REALLY WILSON??
if crabtree didnt beat us by himself! his only real catch against us all game. all his other catches were irrelevant! r secondary was young and they did enough to win! r freshman safety doesnt dropped that tipped ball, we have no controversy! i feel bad for the kid, but he cost us everything by that! and i know u dont know this, but ne other conference wouldve given us the south and we wouldve beaten mizzou again and possibly beaten florida.
