- Star Wars Helmet Stands are the order of the day. We have plenty of Star Wars Helmets in our collection, and we needed to devise a way to display them. We have two completely different methods that we are going to share with you. By the end of this episode we hope you will have the tools and be inspired enough to build your own stand!

Several parts we used on this project are considered "found." meaning we located them on ebay, or by simply taking old electronics apart. Identifying them specifically would be difficult, as some we are not aware of what they are specifically.
The hard drive motors, and square switches were found on ebay.
Others were also ebay and we used the the following search terms to locate them:
- Vintage Camera Lot
- Electronic Parts Lot
- Spare Aluminum Parts Lot
Some days are great for finding unique items, and others not so much. It really depends on who out there is selling their junk :)
Boba Fett Display:
PVC - Home Depot -
Toilet Flange 3", 3" -2" reducer, 3" PVC Pipe, 2" PVC Pipe,
MDF 1/2" Thickness
MDF 1/4" Thickness

Although this is an older video, your production quality is still superb! This channel is HIGHLY underrated!
Thank you!!!
I'm with a world-wide Mandalorian costume club and I've been meaning to make a helmet stand for a while. After finding your channel and going back through older posts I found this one. You made an awesome stand and it was really cheap and easy to make. I made one for myself and shared you video with friends who'll be making their own now. Thanks for the great design. Love the vid's, keep it up!
Thank you Tom! So glad it was valuable for you!
I think these are the coolest stands I’ve ever seen. If you ever make some for sale let me know!
That Stormtrooper stand base looks absolutely awesome!
You know what would be cool would be to add some LED lights up under the helmet to cast a cool glow under the helmet. Then make one of those greblies actually turn the light on. 😀 Great build!
You are 100% correct. That would be a great addition. Thanks for the feedback and checking out the episode!
This just inspired me to make a K2-SO/Alexa base! Thanks for the videos keep up the great work!
I've been very frustrated at the lack of cool helmet stand options - this video has inspired me to make some original stands. Thanks!
Thank you! So glad to hear, can’t wait to see what you build.
Very awesome build brah. Thanks for sharing!
Just discovered this channel, love it!!!
Thank you so much! We are so happy you found us! Welcome to The Smugglers Room!!!
Awesome 👍 thank you for this one.
Loving the designs and how to! Keep up the good work y'all!
I can't stop watching these vids!
Thank you very very much!
Just adding my two cents worth. If you have several helmets you should build a shelf about two or three feet down from the ceiling of the smugglers room that you are doing, length can be up to how much you need. Maybe something like the shelf that the helmets are sitting on in the closing scene at 7:07. Paint it and greeblie the shelf to blend in with the panels and mount the flange of the stand on the shelf. You can call it a display for your collections from your travels all around the galaxy. Also for the top of the stand, you might look into the styrofoam heads for wigs available at beauty shops. Cut the top of the head off above the eyebrows, drill a two inch hole recessed in the middle and secure the top of the head to the two inch pvc pipe. Now you have a wider head shaped top for the helmets to rest on.
f2535 you nailed it!!! Thanks for the feedback. We definitely have plans to display them in the room. I LOVE the styrofoam head suggestion, that’s perfect! Thanks so much for watching, and the comment, we really appreciate it!
haha dude! I absolutely love how much time and creativity that you put into you videos! with the background voices and all. love that you are making star wars related items and giving me good ideas to try myself! woking on my custom nerf blaster as I'm typing this so can't wait to see how it turns out. keep it up and can't wait to see what you come out with next!
Wade's Adventures thank you very much! Best of luck with the nerf blaster, I love nerf mods!
I'm always amazed at all your cool projects.
Thank you!
Awesome job! Your creativity is rivaled only by your infectious enthusiasm for Star Wars. You are much appreciated. My only question is where you find the shiny pieces (short tubes extending from a base of similar material) that you used along side the shiny hard drive motor on the Stormtrooper stand. I have now disassembled a good number of old electronic devices and do not seem to come upon these pieces. I can certainly fabricate something similar, but was curious where one might find pieces like those. Thanks again for providing such an entertaining and informative channel.
Thank you very much!
Great tutorial! Having the right tools is 90% of the battle.
Much appreciated.
I used wall-mounted hat hangers for my helmets.
simple, clean, and gets the party started quickly.
Plus, everybody is up on display and I don't have to hunt for a place to put them lol
Richard Wells that’s a great way to display them. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing and for watching!
You have inspired me to build stands for my helmet. I'm actually using your idea for the Fett, but I'm putting my own spin on it for my Skywalker helmet. I do have one question. How do you prepare the PVC for paint, and what type of paint did you use?
this is great. I like that you made 2 differing versions.
Thank You. We wanted to make sure people could build one or the other depending on what tools are available.
I was very impressed with the storm trooper stand. I have a Darth Vader Collector's Helmet by Rubies signed by David Prowse. What size dowel or PCV did you us? I was thinking 1 inch. What did you use to cap the top to stand which would be large enough to hold a full size helmet in place. ?
Another great video my friend!
Thanks Eric!!
Your thoughts of a wall mounted version.
Very cool! I’ve got. Kylo Ren helmet that has been in desperate need of a stand. This has inspired me to finally make one.
That’s fantastic! Do it!!! So glad this helped inspire you!
Yes! More toilet flange! These look great. You really have a talent for capturing the Star Wars aesthetic.
Always Toilet Flanges!!! Thanks for checking it out today!

Joshua Brooks thank you!
Insta sub, that Fett stand looks nuts!
Mig Monkey thank you, for both the compliment and the sub. We are stoked to have you here and that you liked the video!
What’s that inner green ring?
Ive printed a mando helmet and i was wondering what would be the best way to make a cast of it
Yeah, that is a common question for people working with helmets. What you want is a brush on mold technique. It's where you basically paint on the mold and then create a fiberglass frame around it, followed by what is called "roto-casting." I have not filmed this process for my channel, but this link from punished props is a really great place to start. czcams.com/video/jkzFOFzQtp8/video.html
Dude awesome work! It’s a shame you’re in the US, you seem like the kind of person i would like to have a beer with!
Steven Miele lol, where in the world do you call home?
I’m in the UK 🇬🇧 mate.
Steven Miele sounds like its time for a road trip and a much needed beer 😉
If you wanted to you could 3d print an oval shaped dome and screwed it in place with either a screw or with some nuts and bolts.
Great idea. I really need to use my 3D printer more. I’m still a noob at it!
Now I need stands for mine. I think I have...9. Vader, phase1 clone, phase 2 clone, OG stormy, first order stormy, tie fighter pilot, imperial guard, Boba Fett, Kylo. Where to start?
MetalNerd oh man that is Awesome! What a great collection. Personally I would start with the Tie Fighter Pilot. I have one of those as well and I want to come up with some type of cool design that includes the chest box as part of the display. Can’t wait to see what you do!
Start with boba he is epic
Jack Midd sweet thanks!
Those look AMAZING!!!! SUBSCRIBED!!! ....and you're either a STAR WARS fan, or you're dead to me. ;-)
LOL! Thank you, i love that phrase . . . i need a T-shirt that says that! Thank you

Old vid but I’m making a toilet flange helmet stand
