Hi Brett, the Freesync from AMD is basically like G-Sync but it's based on the open source AdaptiveSync by VESA, however the VRR stands for Variable Refresh Rate, meaning if your FPS drops to let's say 40, your monitor's refresh rate (Hz) will drop from 60Hz to 40Hz to match the FPS and make sure that you don't experience any screen tearing. :) Loved the review btw!

I bought a 77c1 model of these and no matter what I did I couldn't get the audio to sync with the pix. After a couple of weeks of messing with it, I called Costco's service and the first thing that he had me do was disconnect power, hold the power switch down for about 5 minutes, then hold the switch down and plug in power. That fixed it. So, I'm thinking that is like a lot of electronics, REBOOT. It's been a week and all is well.

This TV is simply amazing, from playing video games on PS5 at 4k 120hz to watching movies how filmmakers intended them to watched. Whilst the 65” is way to big for gaming for my liking gaming on this tv is simply amazing. The refresh rate and gamer settings are fantastic for the new consoles. 4 HDMI 2.1 ports are welcomed and the most on any tv on the market. How can I tell if it is working properly as the volume control on screen is on the right hand side and just gives a plus or minus indication? I know when I turn the TV on it shows a message "sony now available". I assume this means it's connected but is it processing sound? I wish there was a manual that explained all the features rather than having to rely on CZcams videos.

VRR is Variable Refresh rate. G-Sync and Freesync are VRR solutions.
It's a way to eliminate the screen tearing that occurs when the frame rate of the content and the refresh rate on the screen are out of sync.
It does this in a much nicer way than V-Synch (Which basically is a dynamic frame rate limiter)
VRR is kind of doing the opposite of V-Sync, Instead of adjusting the frame rate of the game (resulting in the game running at a lower frame rate than it potentially could), It adjust the Refresh rate of the monitor to match the frame rate of the game (even if the frame rate isn't fixed)

Samsung displays may have different subpixels and such, but I think all OLED screens are "active matrix" which is the AM part of AMOLED. POLED is also common, which means plastic OLED. Basically, OLED is the important part, just like we don't bother saying TFT LCD, or AMLCD, though many manufacturers now try to ride off of OLED by calling their TVs LED or QLED... Which are both just archaic LCDs with extra or different layers or backlights.
Dual LCD is the only thing I've seen compare to OLED, other than that I only recommend LCD screens when peak brightness is a concern and every single other aspect of the picture can be sacrificed.

Lg's are the very best true oled TVs you can buy. They started oled tvs long time ago bro. You'll never beat true blacks and these get plenty bright actually, have 2 oleds that can't be touched ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
You gotta be more open minded and realize samsung isn't the best, lg has taken the lead and kept it the day they started selling oleds. And I'm so glad they did! 👏 👏 👏 👏 💝 💜 💘 💛 💗 💙 💓 💚 💖

Why does my oled65c1pub always turn on to my Nvidia Shield hdmi 4. Y default? What if I want to select myself from after I turn tv on. Also I noticed when I press the setting button it always goes to shield input then settings menu pops up.

Yep, an OLED is orders of magnitude better contrast and pixel density compared to a theater. Theaters need to move to RGB laser projectors or start charging a dollar.

Do you even need google tv or chromecast with the LG C1?
Just bought an oled @ costco (best black friday deal!) but not sure if I’ll actually need chromecast anymore if the tv connects to the internet and all my apps? Chromecast also has a BF deal for 6 mos netflix + chromecast & google tv which is going to expire soon 😬
