      You can; I've seen many tech youtubers put motherboards through a dishwasher to thoroughly clean them. You just have to remove the CMOS battery.

    Love how he gnaws and scrapes with that soldiering iron at the motherboard , checks components on the same by prodding various random points and drawing conclusions that things work by a flick of the test meter needle .. sort of the same level of expertise that would be shown by a Neanderthal man with the same equipment.

      Installing windows xp on this machine isn't a great idea, because there can be problem with drivers.

    I would love those blocky older small crt monitors. As for the computer that was repaired, I prefer the last generation crt monitors. The beige ones that look the most modern.

    SmokEZ you can use scrubbing Bubbles on a mobo and rinse allow to dry for 24 hrs and it really cleans electronic parts

    What CPU was it? i3? i5? i7? Great video by the way. One quick note, while it is safe to wash a motherboard as you did, you should remove the CR2032 battery as it is providing voltage to the motherboard, and components can be damaged by a short.

      @Louis Reed the G3250 is a dual-core Pentium. It's actually not bad for lightweight gaming as long as you manage your expectations (Mid 2000s games will run fine on it, just don't ask for 1080p high settings).

    Реставрация называется. Материнскую плату моет водой в тазике, да ещё вместе с процессором и даже батарейкой. Блок питания -непогятно, что он там менял, и что паял, да ещё и покрасил вместе с разъёмами. Корпус покрашен поверх ржавчины. Заглушки сзади нет. Дисковод оптических дисков можно было и родной оставить с белой мордой, перед этим проверить его и почистить, найти шлейф и подключить, возможно он рабочий. Флоппи-дисковод тоже можно было оставить, даже если разъема на материнке нет, все же лучше, чем дырка спереди. Или картридер туда воткнуть. Передняя панель покрашена неаккуратно. И вообще, похоже, что он современную рабочую материнскую плату с процессором, памятью и блоком питания в старый корпус прикрутил и насыпал туда грязи, чтобы потом помыть водичкой. А да, жёсткого диска вначале не было что ли, что он SSD с десяткой поставил?

    Where did you find that computer? Beacuse its more modern than a 775 core 2 duo and is very rare to find a 1150 or that tipes of sockets in the trash

    Should just buy replacement power supply’s, the old ones refurbished will just be more dangerous and damage the pc, buy 80 plus certified 400 watt power supply’s and stuff like that.

    Yes because a brush and some soap and water keep in mind it’s not even a wire brush will get a ton of rust off and a price of sandpaper totally won’t scratch the paint even tho it’s not getting scratched in the vid

    The PSU had blown capacitor, you should change that before use. Probably all of them are bad, if same brand.

    Ну не шедевр конечно, но пару раз пожалуй еще пересмотрю. Полезное же видео. Я тут с одной железякой уже вторую неделю долбаюсь, а делать то надо не так - потыкать щупами да пропаять нахер поверху. Вот оно чё, Михалыч! И это, народ, давайте скинемся пацану на малярный скотч, а то видать он там у них дорогой. Хотя....аэрозольной краской....да в разъемы....нет! Пусть продолжает светлое дело.

      You can, gotta be careful, I would have removed the CMOS battery to be safe. Adrian's Digital Basement has thrown some of his old motherboards in the dishwasher before to clean.
