Seeing this entire sequence in the day time and in the sunny yet snowy conditions made this entire scene really unique and interesting. Seeing Batman fight in the snow is a win, but seeing him fight in the day time and in this vibe and setting was something else. Man I love this movie.

It’s a movie, we forgive the silliness of the idea. Would’ve been more effective and made more sense if more officers fell to that initial gunfire before the two sides came together.
The silliest part is how the baddies armed with full auto rifles stop using them and choose instead to rush the cops too and engage in hand to hand combat. It would have made more sense if in that scene the baddies are shown trying to reload once the cops arrive and start fighting them.
Being in the theater that was fully packed with people, the crowd was excited and cheered the entire time, it was amazing, you rarely see that, these days.

I love how the entrance of the Batwing inspires the police to start running. They're so used to being told to capture him but deep down they've always rooted for him, and now he's helping them.
My first time watching this scene, I thought maybe that removing or breaking the mask was what kept the Venom from entering his system, and that Batman, not knowing this, was actually unwittingly unleashing the beast within. I'm glad I was wrong, because that would have made things considerably more difficult.

It might be of interest to know that the extras (myself being one) were told not to go overboard in the authenticity in the fight scene. An extra died the day before in a practice run. That is why we were not allowed to use our batons. After about a dozen or more takes, we were so tired we could hardly raise our arms to fight. In the end there were quite a few who were cared for by EMTs. I guess the passion of the moment took over.
glenn kane The extra died of natural causes but it’s impossible to know if it was related to the work he did on the rehearsal. I guess they preferred to be more cautious to avoid a repeat in case that’s what got the poor guy killed.
