"DC Metro dispatch shows no units in this area" is such a horrible message to give. It immediately clarifies everything, and brings a terrifying danger to an already horrible situation. This movie is so incredible!
Something so simple and yet, changes the dynamic of the whole situation in an instant while making it dire in gravity.
Gotta love how the actual police force doesn't care or even notice there's fake police pursuing some random dude and there's a lot of gunfire and explosions

The greatest things about this scene:
- How unexpected the whole assault and ensuing action was
- Henry Jackman's incredible soundtrack
- How many aces Fury really has up his sleeve
- The unbelievable suspense, especially when the cop car starts backing up on Fury's car while more come and the whole battering ram sequence
- The dialogue between Fury and the car's computer
Overall, it's AWESOME

Not sure who said it when (Tony Stark in the Avengers lab scene?`) -- "he's a spy. Actually, he's *the* spy. Even his secrets have secrets". In this scene, it's like "even his aces have aces".
@warmachine8741 yeah, but MCU movies are pretty good at putting some humor into everything to break up what would otherwise be an overly lengthy action scene.
Also, remember the scene where Captain America tries to give orders to the cops in Avengers? Or Black Widow and Hawkeye going like "you and I remember Budapest very differently"? All these things help to keep the attention going, instead of viewers just waiting for the end of the fight.

When you think about it, this scene is *really* terrifying.
"DC Metro dispatch shows no units in this area". This tells us that the guys chasing Fury aren't even police. They've been following him. Watching him. They're HYDRA who's been on his tail the whole time. Fury handles this so well and immediately picks up on the fact that something is very wrong here. This movie is insane.

The suspense builds and builds and builds, then a little bit gets let out and you think Nick is going to survive, then in comes the Winter Soldier. This film just plays the audience like a fiddle.

One thing I've always loved about this scene is that it underscores just how insanely badass Fury is. We are so used to seeing him as the "boss" of the heroes who he orders to do all the action, so you can forget just how much of a survivor and badass he is in his own right. Watching this, you know that the Avengers aren't being bossed around by an inexperienced bureaucrat, but a veteran ass kicker who has done a lot, seen a lot and knows a lot.

This whole scene is the perfect mix of chaos and confusion. Confusion, because police officers are attacking Fury for seemingly no reason, and chaos because of all the bullets flying everywhere and Fury's car turning into a small arsenal on four wheels. And then we get the statement "DC Metro Dispatch shows no units in this area," which just turns your blood to ice.
"Air Conditioning is Fully Operational" is underrated. It's the same kind of 'snark' humour that could utterly brick a serious scene in other films, (Say, if delivered by a frustrated but nonplussed Rocket) but here it's being delivered by an on-board AI assistant. Of *course* it would answer literally, and in doing so establishes "Yeah, no, everything Fury would like to use is damaged" without going through a further list. It's a chance to breathe in a scene that until now had been nothing but tension, and genuinely funny to boot. Great stuff.

Best thing about this movie is that the action scenes didn't lose all sense of physics or reality. It felt like they were still plausible and gave the movie a much more gritty feel.

But they took away his entire being and gave us an entirely different person. Even how he acts in the trailer of the new Miss Marvel movie looks better than the show version.

Fury is powerful, resourceful, always prepared. But Hydra is at his level if not better.
