In addition to that, we will be examining some of the odd censorship that Rockstar Games had to do to Vice City to satisfy Japan's CERO rating system as well. Moreover, we will be looking and some unique bug fixes available in this region.

The German version is the one with the worst censorship in terms of gore... They never released an uncut patch on steam but the Android and iOS version have all the nice gore and rampages (but you cannot hit peds who lay on the ground with melee weapons)
(Gore cuts are the same as in GTA III and in the German "uncut" version on Android/iOS you cannot shoot off heads as well)

The two alternate skins in the Japanese PC release and the Mac OS release were also pre-order bonuses for the US release of the PC version of Vice City from EB Games and GameStop, in which they came in install discs to apply the skin in the game

Hey there, anyone watching this and is a bit disappointed with the varying audio quality of my voiceover, I do apologize. I mentioned it on Twitter but for those who do not follow me I recently had to reformat my PC which made me lose progress on some extra stuff that Vadim sent me over Skype some time ago since I had the main voiceover done.
For future stuff this will not happen again but for now please excuse that blemish on this production, happy holidays!

i truly have no idea why they decided to censor blood that much. In anime and japanese movies in general they actually use too much blood to the point that it's comical, so i really dont know why they did this tbh.
Someone told me, even to this day, the Japanese government or the people behind CERO probably still thinks video games are for kids and may cause violent behaviors.. Yea, how about those gory animes and tentacle hentais then? jeezus Japan...

Someone made around GTAForums that they adapted the Japanese version’s changes into the Worldwide game without censoring it and added stuff that was left out in the final game. It’s called Updated SCM for Vice City.

And is Candy's stretch unobtainable? Is the photos of Candy in Diaz's mansion changed to kittens?
And why Vercetti Estate Asset is called protection ring? Maybe because all those asset mission are about protection racket.

Diaz has nothing to do with those Candy Suxxx/kitten photos and posters in the mansion. All of those appear after comleting Movie Studio asset mission Martha's Mug Shot. They are not there when Diaz owns the mansion.
Interior of the building becomes messier along with progression of the game. When Diaz is the owner the place is clean but it got vandalized after Shakedown, and more garbage appears after certain missions like RC-copter after Demolition Man or multiple shopping and trashbags after G-Spotlight.
My mistake.

Hey, my Japanese isn’t fluent, but I’m sure I could help translate whatever it is you have! I’ve been learning for awhile, and use language exchange apps everyday to chat in Japanese. I absolutely love the language, and love using it.
By the way, in Japan, ⭕️ is essentially like a check mark. It’s put on test to show you were correct, and basically is like a confirmation symbol. Whereas ❌ is negative, so I can see why the Japanese release would use a X for no and an O for yes

Plus, PS was influenced by Nintendo somewhat, since A and B buttons are swapped, that means PS controllers in Japan perform the same tasks as Nintendo controllers do. The most prominent influence for the controllers is Super Famicom(SNES for all non-Japanese people).

I would like to point out that the cutscenes for "Martha’s Mug Shot" and "G-Spotlight" were also censored in the exact same way for the Australian release, though the spotlight image at the end of the latter is uncensored, unlike in Japan.

It seems weird to say blood was "nerfed" in one version. Usually I think of a nerf as making something less effective, or less useful to the player, but the amount of blood doesn't have anything to do with that.
In this sense they just mean "less."
To make something less effective you usually have to make a number smaller or lesser. Hence why they say the blood is nerfed.
And also because having less blood just seems like a step down for a gta game that is already all about crime and criminals.

Seeing this video 4 years later it's pretty interesting to see what they used for the Definitive edition and what they didn't from this. Definitely used the blood spraying and blood on screen nerf from this in the definitive edition

To all of those wondering, Japan doesn't threat foreign publishing game houses the same as their domestic counterparts and can make up any excuse to not include or expel content. Basically they can chew you up which ever way they wish of if you enter their market. Welcome to the world of international business, folks.

Xbox and Xbox JP is basically the same game. Minus censorship and fixes.
The coolest little detail about the Xbox version is that the characters in cutscenes have actual fingers!

You can self censor gore in GTAVC by changing the language to German.
There's also a glitch where vehicles at Tommy's mansion turn gold. Unfortunately I have no clue how to actually make it happen.
The Australian version has most of those candy parts removed and the ability to pick up hookers.
But our PS4 version is the uncensored version which makes me happy because I hate censorship lol
Haitian stuff and music were removed from all later versions of the game.
Not censorship but the smoke grenade was removed from later versions because using it slowed the game down too much.

The button layout is most likely like that in Japan because of Nintendo having their A button where circle would be on the PS2 and the B button where the cross is.

In Poland, if titties are shown in 16+ tv show, they are censored. so i think it is just normal.
@@zombie-bu1kc It depends really. In Germany they never censor any sexual content and you can see titties or naked bodies on normal tv shows. Violence on the other hand gets censored sometimes.
