  • So glad I found these Lamborghini Urus paddles, they have given the steering wheel/cockpit a really well nice OEM+ look. Apart from the airbag removal, it's a super easy process.
    A massive thanks to Muhib at DemonizedUK for the airbag removal assitance. With this help, I was able to get this video out to you ASAP, as I struggled to take it off.
    1:50 - Urus Paddles Quality Check
    3:29 - OEM Paddles Before
    4:00 - Step 1 Disconnect the battery
    6:03 - Step 2 Remove the airbag
    6:52 - AIRBAG DILEMMA
    7:36 - Muhib DemonizedUK remove the airbag!
    9:23 - Analysing the inside of the airbag, showing why it's so hard!
    10:30 - Step 3 Remove the gloss black steering wheel trim, and disconnect trim wires
    12:27 - Remove paddles from the back, by unscreweing torque bolts
    12:59 - Tranfer OEM paddle connector, to Urus paddles
    14:36 - From here on out, it's about connecting everything back up!

    This was a good video. The part where you show the actual spring that you have to push is very helpful as now it makes sense. Much less worried about doing this now for my 18 S5...

    Great video, been looking for some instructions and viewpoints for a couple of weeks around wheel and airbag removal, as I’ve just bought a B9 A4 and have a flat bottom steering wheel I want to swap in. Thanks!
    Love the paddles!

      I think I'll be getting a new steering wheel soon, just a skin. I'd like a full alcantara one!

    Super video mate. Not sure I could put myself through that pain with the airbag. Really want those paddles though. How did you get the original extensions off? I can't work it out without damaging something.

    • @S3Ranj
      @S3Ranj  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks buddy! If I didn't set myself a deadline to post this video, I would have had more time to play around with it, but I really wanted to release it. The guy who took it off does this as a part of one of his jobs, so he had it off within minutes. Once you get in the groove, it will come off. These new paddles feel, and look amazing! The previous paddle extensions just came off with a little pressure, as they were just stuck on with 3M tape. Just be really careful. Might be good to do it now with the hot weather.

      @@S3Ranj thanks. I'm going to order these. The original paddles are horrible and like you I don't like the look of any of the extensions. 👍

      Someone asked same thing on FB. It says 2017-2019. But, Im sure the PFL paddle is the same from the back. I'll try do some research, and get back to you!

    Hey ranj how did you remove your old paddle extensions. Mine feel as if they are gonna break when I try to pull the extension off?

    • @S3Ranj
      @S3Ranj  Před 3 lety

      Hey mate, it took me around 5 minutes, just literally taking my time to slowly separating them. Eventually the stickiness was just coming off. Don't rag them off, as you can break the OEM paddle underneath. Just take your time, and try separate them slowly. I did it a few weeks before, as someone wanted to buy them. You could try use a really thin pry tool. Hope that helps 👍🏼

    Hi Ranj,
    How do these actually feel? Is there the same amount of travel and engagement as the factory paddels? I ask as I bought some from Aliexpress and they don't fit the same, there isn't the same engagement and travel.

    • @S3Ranj
      @S3Ranj  Před 11 měsíci

      For me, they feel amazing. A great upgrade from stock paddles IMO. I think fitment can vary from PFL/FL

    • @m3rri3n36
      @m3rri3n36 Před 11 měsíci

      @S3Ranj so what I'm getting from your response is you're probably paid by the link. However, the paddels are as I described more touch than a mechanical click like the factory paddels.
      Would just be nice to know the truth mate, hence contacting you, I know it won't make a difference but you just lost yourself a long term subscriber

    • @S3Ranj

      @m3rri3n36 What on earth are you on about? If you want to unsubscribe from me, please feel free. You're not obligated to subscribe to me or support me. You asked a question, and I provided a genuine response. It would be a pathetic thing to lie about. The Urus paddles are a great upgrade, and per the video as well as my response, I do find them engaging. Do I get paid from the link? Again, maybe not in this video, but in other videos, I've clearly mentioned they are my affiliate links. I only advertise what I think it's worth for those who support me. Otherwise, I'd be advertising every car related in the world, but I don't. You're an odd person.

    • @m3rri3n36
      @m3rri3n36 Před 11 měsíci

      @S3Ranj my question was clear your response very generic and vauge, as if you were trying to avoid answering the question and that could have been for 1 of 3 reasons, and I'm assuming it's becuase the product is sub par and your trying to support the sale of the product. Correct me if I'm wrong?
      I'm now questioning your motive and reviews of other products, I get you want to be a big youtube star and quit your day job, but you can still do this with paid partnerships and honest reviews.
      Your response basically validated my thoughts.

    • @S3Ranj
      @S3Ranj  Před 11 měsíci

      It's still on my S3, and I don't run anything shite on it. So, that should answer your question. My brother runs the same paddles on his RS3 8P, too. You genuinely are an odd person. Good luck with your S3 nonetheless.

      Tell me how, step by step... (I had someone else say the same thing, and they couldn't explain). Bare in mind this isn't a PFL, and isn't a Golf R. So yeah..go ahead, let us all know.
